Another thing that I took from this was how important it is for us to win the MAC. I don't think the conference will be as bad as last year, but does anyone really think it won't hold us back? We would have to somehow position ourselves into around the top 42 teams to get an at-large bid. Personally, I don't see us getting the respect we deserve to do that. It's tough to crack the top 42 when we can't play a schedule that will get us on national TV. All the "big boys" play each other repeatedly in conference. Even if we pick up 25 wins, but proceed to turn around and lose in a MAC tournament upset, I could see the season ending in a bitter way. It's good to be

I hope they don't hold back. I really like the banners that they have shown. As for the entrance... it's gonna leave the other team speechless. I really can't wait. Does anyone know details on the sound system they are installing?

Shows how little they look into the MAC...Shows how blown away they'll belets go zips

OMG I know...can the people that run this site do like they do with Can't=Can't, make Pittsburgh=Sh*tsburgh haha. Ok well I don't mean to go off topic but yes fair weather fans are the worst and Sh*tsburgh fans are the prime example. Growing up in Erie, PA I have see them come out of no where. Back when Kordell Stewart and Maddox ran that team you couldn't find a steelers fan anywhere, then all of a sudden they all show up with their die-hard lifetime obnoxious fan attitudes. Same with the penguins, a few years ago the team was so bad and no one cared, the actually wanted to move them! now everyone loves them and they claim they always have! If anyone doubts me, just wait until hell freezes over and those Pirates actually start doing good, and you'll see thousands of Pirates fans come out of nowhere. OSWHO and PSWHO are fans no different, they win a few games and everyone goes to their local wal-mart and buys a crappy $10 knock-off jersey. Maybe someday people will jump on the Akron band wagon and we can actually fill some seats! Hopefully that will come next year with the awesome stadium! The Penguins still suck, all that talent and they are what the 6th seed in the conference? Psh, the Blue Jackets might have the same seed (depending on if Colorado can win tomorrow) so that says alot.Pens are gonna be the 4th seed and are on a roll. Don't get me started...PS. Browns fans please leave your addresses below so I can mail you your condolence cards.PS again. the stadium is lookin nice. Lets go pensour stadium looks nice too

I thought this was really cool! I'd love to hear what others bring up.

lol lol I'd drive 2 hours to see that

I would prefer an all brass-band for sure, but that’s hard to do when some hardcore members play woodwinds. Guess you'd have to talk to them about switching over. I'm not sure we have the quantity in the music department to get the quality brass band we want right now.

I think I would have put us at around 11 on the end of season list. We did beat Niagara and had the number 1 team pretty worried. As for next year, I can only dream we'd be that high. I think we'll be around 20th.

I'm gonna go with the recruiting pitch...Dayton,It's in Colorado. That's a long walk grandma!!!

Lol what was this topic about again? How about VMD designs some sweet chair backs to match his uniform concepts, thus providing the band with a quality fundraiser allowing them to buy all the plastic tubas they want. This will all be unveiled at next years spring game and then we can announce the next thing to complain about!
-
Its good to see a little publicity for the Zips.I must say, however, I was not thrilled with the article's content. Was a good glance at the zips from an outsiders perspective. ...of course the thought had crossed my mind but Dambrot isn't going anywhere don't worry.

Just kill two birds with one stone and make this a band fundraiser...

While I have never been to one of these games you can sign me up for this year. I don't want to miss an opportunity to show what Zip's fans are made of. Any problems with more than 20 fans Zip Watcher?

It looks like this years Kings James Classic is going to be highly anticipated, so let the build-up begin! As Zip's fans we know how much is at stake and look forward to a fine display of future talent. Here are some tid-bits to get the juices flowing: ---Some potential Zips will be showing off their skills including J.D. Weatherspoon and Adreian Payne who is listed as the number 2 center in the class of 2010. King James Classic still popular, but now off limits to Division I college coaches

100% agreed. Roberts is a proven commodity. He gets the scholarship. You can't take away what the kid has earned. You're not taking a "potentially good 4 year player" over a CERTAINLY good 4 year player. The second would be a CERTAINLY good 1 year player. I think Darryl's huge to this team, but there are other members of this team too. Don't the younger members deserve to have done what's best for the team going into the future?Another thought. Let's say your son gets married. Being the good, loving parent, you blow tons of coin on an all out party--best wedding ever. Six months down the road he starts running around with losers, cheats on his wife, and ultimately leads to a divorce that was all his own doing. Then, 2 years down the road, he's straightened himself back out and is getting married again. However, your daughter is pretty close to being engaged too. Are you dropping $20,000 more on your son's second wedding, or holding onto it for little sis's first?are we assuming that I can afford a 55 million dollar stadium?I would take the high road and do as promised. I'm not sure if we promised Roberts anything, but he deserves a scholarship. I don't wanna see a program fall like a jenga game just because we got greedy.

There are all sorts of odd traditions out there. For example - I know that K.e.n.t. football recruits wear skirts and lipstick on signing day.Or maybe they're just confused??

PS. Weatherspoon is from Columbus he might be interested in the soccer game that Sunday, and maybe he can bring Payne with him!...which is a terrifyingly good dream!

I really like the Script Zips!...and as a trumpet player I can agree...flutes don't matter.jk keep up the great work bandPS. Maybe you could get a bunch of organizations involved in the Script Zips..I mean I don't know how it works, but if you had the chorus on the field singing the fight song while the "zips" was being set up it'd be nice (I worry how many people in the stands would sing). Then when it's in place the band could take over and get 30,000 people clapping and pumped. The more involved the better!

He'll be here with the All-Ohio Red for an AAU game with Payne I believe. Sounds like twice as much is at stake...any thoughts?
