  1. I've seen Hawaii license plates on campus before...was that you Z.I.P. ??
  2. Was listening to Zips live, and Coach Kest was as positive as I have ever seen her before after first official week of practices. One thing she said was "If anyone have seen any of our practices" and "IF you do come out to one of our practices, you'll see..." So I'm just wondering if GoZips or anyone else would know if Kest has her practices open this week?
  3. Another important part, which is that this state is highly talented in high school girl's soccer players. We are now 1-0-1 against other Ohio schools this year. Be crucial as we go along. I know that it's starting to make a difference, as I heard a couple weeks ago from Coach Pfau on Zips Live say that this upcoming recruiting class is more localized than in the past few recruiting classes...
  4. All I have to say is that, if you haven't seen the Lady Zips at all this year, you have at least 3 more chances(maybe 4 if you count the @Can't match) to see them in action. Of course, it may not be as exciting as the men's team because of the style they play and being nationally ranked in top 5 ; however, the Lady Zips don't play just your ordinary "kick the ball around until we get a lucky bounce" type of soccer. They too, try to play a possession type style of play. The problem is that it's not executed as well as the men's team, but you can't fault the women's team for that. Give them a chance. Not saying if you saw them last year or in 2009, that you don't have to see this team. If you haven't seen this team at all this season, you must see them before season's end. They had a lead in the Toledo tie and Ball State loss, and they had chances to win in the Western Michigan loss and Central Michigan tie. They've beaten Northern Illinois and Eastern Michigan, the schools they should of beaten. This team is for real. If a few bounces went their way, they could easily be 6-0-0 right now... The MAC East is much easier to get wins than the MAC West. For us to have a chance to win each game in the MAC up to this point, tells us that we should go 5-0-0 in MAC play. Ohio may be the one team that gives us trouble. If we play down to our opponents, Buffalo and Can't State might give us trouble. Don't count out Miami(OH) either. But the Lady Zips are in good shape to at least get the #2 seed in the MAC if they win the division. Worse case scenario, #4 seed wouldn't be far off. Here's your chances: 10/14/11 7:30pm vs Bowling Green 10/16/11 1:00pm vs Miami(OH) 10/21/11 4:00pm at Can't State 10/27/11 3:00pm vs Ohio
  5. Here's today's article. Looks like we had a chance to get 3 points out of this match. Good result, nonetheless... http://www.gozips.com/sports/wsoc/2011-12/.../201110090tyy0f

  15. Akron scores in the 22nd minute, when the goalie lost the ball in the box alone, and senior Kara Cooper cleaned it up and scored...
  16. Toledo already up on Ohio 1-0, fifteen minutes in...
  17. Wolbert(senior), Gross(sophomore), Kern(sophomore), Cloutier(senior), Kirkwood(freshman), Rusnak(sophomore), Clark(senior), DeNiro(sophomore), Wise(junior), Hughes(junior), and Phillip(senior) are starting against Ball State

  20. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/872145-...urnament/page/7
  21. Clemson needs to win this weekend for us as well...
  22. Not a big fan of either quarterback, but what about the first offensive play of the game vs VMI? That wasn't a deep pass?
  23. I'm not saying that bragging rights is for the program. You're completely misunderstanding my concept. I said FOR ME, it was a big game. To be honest, the Ohio State game is not more important as the games of UC-Santa Barbara, New Mexico, Cleveland State, and so on.. Everyone else is saying "It's better to see how we handle travel now than in the playoffs." With us not playing any MAC games yet, schools like UConn, North Carolina, and Maryland will have tougher conference slates than us. Don't forget about schools like Indiana, Louisville, and Notre Dame possibly making a run. Wouldn't count out New Mexico or UC-Irvine either. In year's pass, RPI meant a lot to the selection committee. I feel that it will be the same this year. Even though the rest of the MAC is gaining reputation(too bad more MAC teams didn't have men's soccer programs), but it's still not going to help our cause if someone rises up in the rankings that's already in top 15. If Michigan was ranked in top 15, after they lost to us, who knows how high they would of been seeded... Indiana can be a team to win out in Big Ten without the Big Ten being that great this year. That's another reason I feel we need to schedule more Big East/ACC schools than Big Ten schools... I don't see us having home field advantage through three games...I definitely lock us for two home games. Just not three...
  24. In the words of Lee Corso, someone knows something I don't and I go with the someones. This may be better than what we think it might turn out. The only problem I see with this, is that both offenses aren't that great. If I was Ianello, I would of been focusing on my defense for about 90% of the week. FIU's offense is okay, but their defense is what has carried it. If we can stop their passing game, and not let them get more than 115 yards rushing, we may have a chance on offense with our running game and the way Sconiers have been playing...I see this as a game that the Zips can hang around for someone...
