  1. Here's the free live feed that you can watch of the women's basketball's game vs Notre Dame tonight: http://www.und.com/allaccess/ Should be up by the time our men's soccer game is over...
  2. Coach Kest seemed to be very confident going into this Preseason WNIT matchup for our first game of season for Lady Zips against Notre Dame. From what GoZips said, sounds like the ladies are in great preparation and shape for the season...
  3. wait...we have a football team?
  4. Can't wait to see what GoZips says about this...I've been high on this team since the practices before the Canada trip...wasn't sure how quick we would see the difference...looks like it could be here already!!!!
  5. I feel that this game could go either way tonight. First time playing in a huge crowd for some of these young players, and need to get use to it. Then, we could also run them up(tempo, not score) since they only played 7 players against Eastern Kentucky, or we could power it inside and get them in foul trouble...this team is so versatile ...I feel that Zeke will be the dominance self on defensive end again, but I just feel he'll only get 6-8 points because this team is so deep...Chauncey is going to be the leading scorer tonight in my opinion. When he shoots a three, it's almost automatic...I expect that to happen tonight...Akron wins by 4. If not, we lose by 15...That's how unsure I am of this team right now at this moment...
  6. Here's my take on this...For Football, kudos to the band. I don't know if I could handle going through this cruel and unusual punishment week in, and week out, without being able to leave. I understand playing other school's fight song, but Zach and PAC_the_MAC. don't you think it's not the band's choice? Maybe it's been recommended from higher up(President, etc.)? Don't start criticizing individual band members...For Basketball, I beg to differ. I have many points on this one that I will explain:1) If you think that the only Rowdies that show up is the ones that are behind the hoops, then you haven't tried hard enough to look around. I see Rowdies and/or Non-Rowdies students in wooden bleachers basically because they either think it's too much hassle to try and get a wristband for a floor seat, or they have friends who can't get a floor seat so they sit and talk with them during the game.2) To go along with the above point, Here's my only criticisms about the band. Band members on here, please don't take it like I want all of you dead. I don't. People have come on this board and given the Rowdies some constructive criticism, and I feel that we can all learn a little about each other from constructive criticism than just pointing fingers. As a student and a Rowdie, I do sit in the floor seats. However, I'm considering A LOT to not sit down there this year, because I like discussing basketball with my friends during timeouts and halftime. The problem is I have to yell at the top of my lungs just so the person next to me can hear what I'm saying when I'm on either side of the floor seats. I've heard from some of my Rowdies' friends that went to my high school that the reason they don't sit on floor seats is because they want to talk to each other during those times(halftime and timeouts), to say things like "Did you see that block by Zeke?" or "That was an amazing and clutch 3 by Nitro" and so forth...3) The only other thing I feel the band needs to work on is the chants itself. When the Rowdies try chanting "Let's Go Zips" or "Z-FENSE" or something and all they do is their own little thing and ruin the chant of the Rowdies because the Rowdies get all screwed up which chant is the one they're doing...so it starts simmering down...That may be why some Rowdies are sour towards the band because they feel the band is trying to "outdo" the Rowdies....Just to clarify on the band doing their own thing, when there would be a pause between "Let's" and "Go" the band would say something like "Zips Let's Go" or something like that...it really hurts the Rowdies because the ones across can't understand what chant the Rowdies on other side are saying and can't join in either...________________________________________________________________________________That's the only criticism I have for the band. I hope it was constructive. All I want is the for the atmosphere to get better. I just feel if these are changed(not necessarily all of them right now..let's work on chant unison for now please), it will increase the atmosphere, and everyone's experience. And maybe, just maybe, increase the attendance at the JAR each game...

  11. Zips live tonight at Winking Lizard Tavern, which the address is: 25 Ghent RoadFairlawn, OH 44333-3323Both Coach Dambrot and Coach Kest will be on Zips Live tonight. Just wondering who may all be going. I'll be on my way back from Cleveland, so I may very well stop by for the hour show, meet a few people, and then head back to Akron. It will be on 1350AM still, so those of you who can't make it, can still listen to it there on 1350AM...EDIT: Can one of the moderators please delete the other Zips Live thread. Thank you...When I tried posting this thread, it said something was wrong with my server or something. So I went back a couple pages, and posted it again thinking it didn't go through the second time...apparently it did...
  12. Zips live tonight at Winking Lizard Tavern, which the address is: 25 Ghent RoadFairlawn, OH 44333-3323Both Keith Dambrot and Jodi Kest will be on Zips Live tonight. Just wondering who may all be going. I'll be on my way back from Cleveland, so I may very well stop by for the hour show, meet a few people, and then head back to Akron.
  13. lost 2-1...dissapointing season...ladies didn't execute like they wanted to...Will miss the seniors who help turn the program around and get it going in right direction. Good luck to Jeny Wolbert, Jordan Clark, Kara Cooper, Adrienne Steckel, Rachel Phillip, and Liz Cloutier. Next year's freshmen class is the best our women's program has ever had(and localized too), and we're going in right direction. I expect nothing less than a MAC East Championship next year...
  14. had opportunities, just haven't been able to finish...Other scores:FINAL: #3 Western Michigan 1, #6 Ball State 0.FINAL(close to being final): #1 Toledo 7, #8 Ohio 0.FINAL(i think): #5 Buffalo 2, #4 Can't State 1.
  15. You can pay attention to the game here by live blog instead of live stats. Very interesting setup for CMU...http://www.cmuchippewas.com/ViewArticle.db...DB_OEM_ID=10500
  16. Apparently the first two goals scored by Central Michigan had a lot of help from the wind. CMU pressed knowing that Akron would have a hard time getting the ball on the other half of the field with the wind, and kept pressing, and our ladies had hard time possessing the ball. Akron should have the wind to their advantage in 2nd half as long as the wind doesn't change direction or slows down...If it stays like first half, expect more shots and opportunities in 2nd half by the Zips...
  17. As I posted that, Akron's Rachel Phillip scores with 4:45 remaining in first half...
  18. Apparently 10-15 mph winds have played a huge factor in the match so far...other MAC scores:#1 Toledo 4#8 Ohio 0#4 Can't State 0#5 Buffalo 1#3 Western Michigan 0#6 Ball State 0
  19. Kept it quiet on here because of the last game went well without posting anything. Not off to a great start, so ill post it now i guess. CMU has scored twice in the first 7 minutes...
  20. That play also opens up the sidelines for a RB to go on one of the sides and make it work. With the defense morality of CMU at the end, it would of worked...
  21. Both of these plays are "all or nothing plays". I don't have a problem with moving a mobile QB on the three. It presents a lot of options or even the QB running. If the passing play that i mentioned is done right in practice, it's practically 2-1 odds...Because since the inside WRs are going out in flat area and u have the outside WRs going into the middle on slants, if it is executed right, it will work. The defenders would essentially get "screened" like basketball. If they try to go under the player, you throw just over top, and if the player tries to go behind, you throw it right in there between the numbers...
  22. Momentum can change on any play...a fumble here, or an interception there, or another CMU big play, and the momentum switches...I liked the call to go for two at the end, just didn't like the play call...
  23. Since Moore was on fire at the time, I would of probably passed it with a four WR set. With the two inside WRs running little out corners or curl routes while the two outside WRs would run slants...ORI would run a HB draw in that play. CMU was demoralized and running the ball on that 2 point conversion might not of been the higher percentage, but at that moment, might of been able to out hustle, push, etc. to get those few yards...I would decide between those two plays. Obviously, whatever one worked better in practice throughout the week with the scout defense in...
  24. I don't have a problem with the 2 point conversion call. I have a problem with the play they chose for the 2 point conversion though...A Playaction rollout??!?!?!?!!! REALLY?!?!?!?!?!?!?
