  1. In my opinion, the one Michigan player was offsides and it should of been called dead right there. Instead, it wasn't and the ball went to the one Michigan player who chipped it over Meves... Of course the BTN didn't mention it because they were bias towards Michigan all night because of it being...hence, The Big Ten Network. Didn't play well tonight. Great job by Meves and Barson tonight. Can't do it by themselves...
  2. Michigan with a shot that deflected off a defender and hit the post right back to a Michigan player who kicked it wide right...6 mins in
  3. 21-10 Bobcats. I believe that it may be a lot of dump passes for Moore, so I feel his completion % could be higher than 50% because of the screen plays. Chisholm should run for about 130-150 yards I feel...
  4. thanks GoZips. I actually talked to Coach Kest today. Got to see the first hour and a few minutes of their practice. Don't know what I can and cannot say from that practice, so I'll just leave it that this team could be special come MAC tourney time...
  5. I'm hearing across facebook and twitter that both LeBron and Kevin Durant are weight lifting on campus right now. I'm also hearing that the people that told me this assume they'll be practicing with the men's team today. Can't wait to hear if GoZips is able to make it to their practice today. Be interesting to hear a report back if they were involved with the practice or not...
  6. You're right...excuse my math...I didn't look it up because I figured others did and they got that this was Coach Porter's seventh season..
  7. If we win out and win another national championship, that would be 114 wins for Coach Porter in his first seven seasons. Just saying...
  8. Would anyone have a problem, if the chants with profanity in them, are replaced with the vuvuzela. For the chant of "Come on Akron score a goal", in the second half, where the one word would be said, they blew the vuvuzela real quick like a beep noise you would hear on TV? Or is it the thought of the word that people don't like of the chant as well? Just trying to figure what to make it better for everyone. That's all...
  9. Just want to clarify, that if that is towards me, that before I even brought him to Akron this weekend for the games, I told him that anything that is said at the games, stay at the games. None of the stuff gets said in your classroom, your own soccer games, and hanging out with friends. He understood. I'm sorry, but I feel today's society is a little too sensitive. Not trying to be offensive, just stating how I feel about it. My parents never had a problem with me going to events like this, just as long as I understood not to repeat some of them. It's just like video games(computer PC games when I was growing up). some games are just for the game itself. Not reality. You have to pick and choose what's reality and what to say where and when. It just comes down to the way you were raised, and the way you grow up with those values.
  10. There's numerous reasons for it to be a long ways away from being an elite team. I feel comparing women's soccer to men's soccer is like comparing an ocean to a pond. Men's soccer team has a tradition. Women's soccer is trying to start one. The thing is that this team gets in deep holes at home, but never on the road. I wonder why... ... ...@Doug Snyder, sorry. Didn't get on ZN.o until now. My brother and I were in the first row of reserve grandstand seats. He got a t-shirt from one of the starting players, so it wasn't a bad day for him at least. He loved it and wants to come back again. Only way that would be possible is a home playoff game. That may not happen. But with the support that this team gets at home from the students, that may be a good thing...
  11. This is a matchup of the past two MAC East champions. Akron won in 2009, and Miami(OH) won in 2010. Miami(OH) coming off a 2-1 victory over Ohio, and we're coming off a 1-0 win over Bowling Green. I was not able to make it friday. Heard we had some chances and Wise had a great goal. My high school alma mater won on friday over a conference school they haven't beaten since 1998. It was great to see that, but I'm glad to be back and watch the Lady Zips play Miami(OH). Got some family members that are in town today before heading back home out of state, and some of them should be there today. Here's how the MAC went down on friday:Akron 1, Bowling Green 0.Miami(OH) 2, Ohio 1.Buffalo 0, Ball State 0.Toledo 2, Can't State 0.Western Michigan 1, Central Michigan 0.Eastern Michigan 1, Northern Illinois 0.Here's the MAC Standings going into today:Overall MAC Standings1 Toledo- 19 points2 Central Michigan-14 points2 Ball State- 14 points4 Western Michigan -12 points5 Akron-11 points6 Ohio-10 points7 Buffalo- 9 points7 Can't State- 9 points9 Eastern Michigan- 7 points10 Miami(OH)- 6 points11 Bowling Green- 6 points12 Northern Illinois- 3 pointsMAC EastAkron: 3-2-2 -11 pointsOhio: 3-3-1 -10 pointsBuffalo: 2-2-3 -9 pointsCan't State: 3-4-0 -9 pointsMiami(OH): 2-5-0 -6 pointsBowling Green: 2-5-0 -6 pointsMAC WestToledo: 6-0-1 -19 pointsCentral Michigan: 4-1-2 -14 pointsBall State: 4-1-2 -14 pointsWestern Michigan: 4-3-0 -12 pointsEastern Michigan: 2-4-1 -7 pointsNorthern Illinois: 1-6-0 -3 pointsToday's games:Buffalo at Toledo, 12:00pmMiami(OH) at Akron, 1:00pmBowling Green at Ohio, 1:00pmCan't State at Ball State, 1:00pmEastern Michigan at Western Michigan, 1:00pmCentral Michigan at Northern Illinois, 2:00pm
  12. GoZips did mention that Dambrot thought that Barberton's basketball facilities was so good that they could possibly have a good bulk of workouts, practices, etc. there if renovations are being done in the JAR. Maybe KD knows something we don't know? Is LeBron giving up some money and donating it for a new convocation center/arena?
  13. What do you want them to do? Hold hands with every new student? The Rowdies can't get every student involved. You know why? Because the student has to be willing to get involved as well. You saying what you did basically means that you're not willing to get involved. If they see you trying to get involved, they'll put forward their effort. When I was a freshman, I didn't get that involved the first month of fall semester. I decided to try and get more involved, and now I'm as comfortable as I've ever been. You have to understand. The Rowdies isn't an organization to get a t-shirt and sometimes free food while watching a sporting event. You're there to support YOUR SCHOOL and not there for YOURSELF. Big difference there. There's a reason why we have a 46 game unbeaten streak at home in men's soccer. My last point I'll make is this. No one stopped you from going to the other side in the second half. The score was 0-0. It was a conference game. Trying to do everything in our abilities to give our team an edge. Stop complaining and start getting involved...My problem continues to be with the alienating thing. I hear this often. You should work within your group to eliminate it. And here is the proof.... you just admitted as a freshman you were not that interested in getting involved but your involvement grew. It is impossible to join a group who intentionally alienates you. Moreover...you probably will make those possible future rabid fans stay home making the situation even worse. From what I can see....you are a great Zip fan. Can you help your fellow Zip students and fans??I was hoping to meet you today but with the chance of rain at 90%, I can't take my 3 year old daughter out in the cold rain. I like your passion and commitment.Go ZipsI understand your point. It's just hard to get all 1,000-2,000 students involved. It's really hard to do. I'm sure we're better at getting people involved now than we were last year, last year more than the year before, and so forth...That's fine. My 11 year old brother is in town today, and I'm taking him to the women's soccer match. Should be a good one. At least you and your daughter can still watch the game online...

  15. Just heard Santa Barbara beat Fullerton 6-0...
  16. Mike Stoops is from the Youngstown area
  17. I've seen Hawaii license plates on campus before...was that you Z.I.P. ??
  18. Was listening to Zips live, and Coach Kest was as positive as I have ever seen her before after first official week of practices. One thing she said was "If anyone have seen any of our practices" and "IF you do come out to one of our practices, you'll see..." So I'm just wondering if GoZips or anyone else would know if Kest has her practices open this week?
  19. Another important part, which is that this state is highly talented in high school girl's soccer players. We are now 1-0-1 against other Ohio schools this year. Be crucial as we go along. I know that it's starting to make a difference, as I heard a couple weeks ago from Coach Pfau on Zips Live say that this upcoming recruiting class is more localized than in the past few recruiting classes...
  20. All I have to say is that, if you haven't seen the Lady Zips at all this year, you have at least 3 more chances(maybe 4 if you count the @Can't match) to see them in action. Of course, it may not be as exciting as the men's team because of the style they play and being nationally ranked in top 5 ; however, the Lady Zips don't play just your ordinary "kick the ball around until we get a lucky bounce" type of soccer. They too, try to play a possession type style of play. The problem is that it's not executed as well as the men's team, but you can't fault the women's team for that. Give them a chance. Not saying if you saw them last year or in 2009, that you don't have to see this team. If you haven't seen this team at all this season, you must see them before season's end. They had a lead in the Toledo tie and Ball State loss, and they had chances to win in the Western Michigan loss and Central Michigan tie. They've beaten Northern Illinois and Eastern Michigan, the schools they should of beaten. This team is for real. If a few bounces went their way, they could easily be 6-0-0 right now... The MAC East is much easier to get wins than the MAC West. For us to have a chance to win each game in the MAC up to this point, tells us that we should go 5-0-0 in MAC play. Ohio may be the one team that gives us trouble. If we play down to our opponents, Buffalo and Can't State might give us trouble. Don't count out Miami(OH) either. But the Lady Zips are in good shape to at least get the #2 seed in the MAC if they win the division. Worse case scenario, #4 seed wouldn't be far off. Here's your chances: 10/14/11 7:30pm vs Bowling Green 10/16/11 1:00pm vs Miami(OH) 10/21/11 4:00pm at Can't State 10/27/11 3:00pm vs Ohio
  21. Here's today's article. Looks like we had a chance to get 3 points out of this match. Good result, nonetheless... http://www.gozips.com/sports/wsoc/2011-12/.../201110090tyy0f
