+1No matter how big of a shafting it was, we still should have wooped Michigan. The crappy field conditions didn't help but STILL shouldn't have been close. Maybe we need to train regularly on a wet field....both of our losses were on games played on wet fields which means we should be out practicing RIGHT NOW...

I don't expect every former Zip in the MLS to get a call-up just because Porter is the coach, or we will be hearing cries of nepotism a la Bob and Michael Bradley (even though him playing for his dad was justified). I would fully expect to see Teal get a call up, probably Kitchen too. Not sure about Zarek, Kofi is kind of a stretch at this point, and I'm not sure what the status is nationality wise on Darlington. The US has a lot of talent in the under-23 age pool. What you have to remember is that some of the guys who play for the senior squad are still under 23, like Jozy Altidore, Juan Agudelo, Timmy Chandler, Freddy Adu, and Brek Shea. Which leads me to the topic of the squad coming to Akron. I don't know how early this team would start training, it may or may not overlap with this college season. Probably depends on how deep of a run we make into the tournament. I do know though, and I can say this as a confident, heterosexual man, that if Brek Shea is anywhere near this city I will camp outside his hotel room to meet him.Oh, and if you're not familiar with how the Olympic team works, it's under 23, BUT you are allowed to have three overage players on your roster. Maybe we will also see Landon Donovan, maybe we will see Clint Dempsey, maybe we will see Tim Howard, maybe I am getting WAY ahead of myself. No OS when the ball is last played by a defender. Yedlin toe poked the ball backward towards Meves.Not so sure about that. I was certified as a USSF Grade 7 referee a couple years ago, and that was never mentioned in either the Grade 9 class, or the bridge class for Grade 8 or Grade 7. Basically, we spent a half an hour on offsides, and I wrote down every letter, number, abbreviation, and everything else about offsides they talked about because I didn't want to screw those calls up. I knew there would be a lot fans that wouldn't understand the complexion of offsides. Looking through my notes, I can't find any exception to offsides if the defending team passes it backwards. Can someone please send me a link with that rule. Must be a new rule...From what I've always known, is that if the player that is in the offsides position is in the area of activity on the field, then he's ruled as being offsides. In my opinion, the one Michigan player was offsides and it should of been called dead right there. Instead, it wasn't and the ball went to the one Michigan player who chipped it over Meves... Of course the BTN didn't mention it because they were bias towards Michigan all night because of it being...hence, The Big Ten Network. Didn't play well tonight. I'm hearing across facebook and twitter that both LeBron and Kevin Durant are weight lifting on campus right now. I'm also hearing that the people that told me this assume they'll be practicing with the men's team today. Can't wait to hear if GoZips is able to make it to their practice today. Be interesting to hear a report back if they were involved with the practice or not...

Would anyone have a problem, if the chants with profanity in them, are replaced with the vuvuzela. For the chant of "Come on Akron score a goal", in the second half, where the one word would be said, they blew the vuvuzela real quick like a beep noise you would hear on TV? Or is it the thought of the word that people don't like of the chant as well? Just trying to figure what to make it better for everyone. That's all...

Just want to clarify, that if that is towards me, that before I even brought him to Akron this weekend for the games, I told him that anything that is said at the games, stay at the games. None of the stuff gets said in your classroom, your own soccer games, and hanging out with friends. He understood. I'm sorry, but I feel today's society is a little too sensitive. Not trying to be offensive, just stating how I feel about it. My parents never had a problem with me going to events like this, just as long as I understood not to repeat some of them. It's just like video games(computer PC games when I was growing up). some games are just for the game itself. Not reality. You have to pick and choose what's reality and what to say where and when. It just comes down to the way you were raised, and the way you grow up with those values.

There's numerous reasons for it to be a long ways away from being an elite team. I feel comparing women's soccer to men's soccer is like comparing an ocean to a pond. What do you want them to do? Hold hands with every new student? The Rowdies can't get every student involved. You know why? Because the student has to be willing to get involved as well. You saying what you did basically means that you're not willing to get involved. If they see you trying to get involved, they'll put forward their effort. When I was a freshman, I didn't get that involved the first month of fall semester. I decided to try and get more involved, and now I'm as comfortable as I've ever been. You have to understand. The Rowdies isn't an organization to get a t-shirt and sometimes free food while watching a sporting event. You're there to support YOUR SCHOOL and not there for YOURSELF. Big difference there. There's a reason why we have a 46 game unbeaten streak at home in men's soccer.My last point I'll make is this. No one stopped you from going to the other side in the second half. The score was 0-0. It was a conference game. Trying to do everything in our abilities to give our team an edge. Stop complaining and start getting involved...My problem continues to be with the alienating thing. I hear this often. You should work within your group to eliminate it.
