I think I have a solution! OSU-Akron OSU-Can't OSU-Youngstown OSU-Cleveland Done!

The tailgating situation needs to be remedied that's for sure. The U has no plan for tailgating other than the pipe dream that someday there will be enough $5000 donors to fill lot 9. Never going to happen. There are Zips season ticket holders that got moved from lot 9 to lot 10 this year because lot 9 was full. Rubbish. The lot was far from full. In fact, there was enough room for Marshall fans to tailgate there. How does that happen? My trip to Muncie this year opened my eyes to what tailgating can be at MAC game in spite of their silly way of not opening the lots until 3 hours before kickoff. I know this topic has been brought up many times before but hopefully someone from UA will someday read one of these critiques of the tailgate policy and take it to heart.

The Cleveland Browns could ruin our soccer pitch

Do you think he could make magic happen with Blake Dennis? (Sorry couldn't resist.)

Damn right, HT!

Blatant anti-Akron bias, I tell ya.

Perhaps someday we will get to the point where the captains meet at midfield to drop off hard copies of the rosters and a panel committee will determine who the winner is without even playing the game.
-
He is on the participation list for Eastern and Miami games as well. And yes, redshirts are on the roster but he is not. Anyone? Bueller?

Speaking of DL. . . Can anyone tell me if I am right or wrong? I seem to remember that Brock Boxen entered the game late against Howard. The participation list on GoZips.com confirms my recollection: http://gozips.com/sports/fball/2014-15/boxscores/20140828_g081.xml?view=participation Anyone else remember? If his redshirt was burned, why haven't we seen any more of Brock? I hope my memory is shot and GoZips.com is wrong.

The offense has been horrible, no doubt, but I continue to see posts lauding our defense. What I sat in the rain to watch on Tuesday shouldn't be called good defense by any stretch of the imagination. What happened to our pass rush? Other than Jerome Lane, it was non-existent. What happened to our run defense? I kinda gave them a pass when Jahwan Edwards gashed us because he has a rep as a good MAC back but 2 of Travis Greene's backups each ran for 100 yards Tuesday night. I don't know if the team has just lost confidence all the way around or what but it's not just the offense that's floundering right now. We need to get it together quickly or it's going to be a sad bus ride back from Canada.

I did not arrive until 4:45, but I had a pretty nice abbreviated tailgate last night. First of all, let me say that JZ84 can whip up a mean batch of poutine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poutine Delicious and much appreciated. Although the beer list was small compared to a Saturday game, the quality could not have been any finer. We had another home brew to try, this one from the brewery "Ol Dirty Basement". Fall Jacket was an English Brown with pumpkin pie spices that was quite tasty. Awesome job brewing your first batch, Heather. My friend Zipgrad01 hooked me up with a crowler of Willoughby's Peanut Butter Cup Coffee Porter. This is one of my favorite beers and it tasted and poured as if we had a keg of it right there in Lot 9. First crowler ever for me. For those unfamiliar: As if that wasn't enough of a treat, I also got the opportunity of a lifetime to try Westvleteren 12. Yes. The beer that has occupied the very top of many best beer lists. It lived up to the hype. I have to thank our friend Shawn for being generous enough to share some with his fellow Zip fans. This is one of the greatest things about following the Zips. The depth of friendships that we have fostered over beer, food and love of the Zips is incredible. Our small community is the most caring, sharing group of people you could ever be around and being able to look back at all the good times we've had will keep you smiling all week. Wouldn't trade my tailgating friends for anything. Thanks to all of you. This isn't from the Frye era, but I heard the comment made last night comparing the playmaking ability of the starting wide receivers in 2014 to those who started in JD's last year: Jeremy Bruce, Jeremy LaFrance, Andre Jones & Deryn Bowser. Not that the 2009 group was like the old Houston Oilers group, but still. . .

Dodged a bullet there.

I tried on my blackout outfit last night and I was all proud of myself but then my wife asked me if I was going to the game as a member of ISIS. I was going for cat burglar.

For comparison's sake, the Akron thread on AZZ has 18 posts.

I have my blackout uniform ready. Head to toe, baby! I won't be getting there until 5. I had to make a tough decision about spending vacation on this game. I figured I either had to bite the bullet and take 2 days or take none and save the vaycay for the MACCG. Taking one day didn't really make any sense to me. If I took Tuesday off, I could tailgate all afternoon but set myself up for a rough Wednesday morning when the alarm clock went off at 6. If I took Wednesday off, I could sleep in, but miss most of the tailgate. What a conundrum. So come on, Zips! Win out and I will make up for lost time in Detroit!

When will I learn?

I hope there is some excitement on campus and students show up Tuesday. I remember the Tuesday game in 2010 vs. Miami. I was sitting in the front row upper deck and kept hearing someone blowing leaves. This went on intermittently during the game and was really bugging the shit out of me. Eventually, I looked up to discover I was hearing the fans of the Goodyear blimp that was hovering over the stadium. You should never be able to hear the blimp over the ambient noise at any sporting event. I hope I don't hear it Tuesday.
-
Those of you who are students: Has there been a lot of buzz around campus about the tuition sweepstakes?
-
No, you're not the only one. Check out Ay-Ziggy-Zoomba. It's a ghost town. These Tuesday games are a complete farce no matter what kind of party line talking points MAC coaches repeat when asked about them.
