Amen. Even though that is a bullshit list, it was depressing to be on it for weeks on end.

I don't know if the win over Pitt will do anything for attendance this Saturday, but it's done wonders for the Facebook tailgating page.
-
Yes! Because if you will remember correctly. . .when Patrick Nicely went under center for the first time in 2010, the exchange was harder to learn than Chinese arithmetic.

You guys are so right about Zach Paul. So far, he is the most consistently outstanding player on our squad. I talked to his mom for a hot second after the game and told her how lucky we are to have him and she really appreciated that.

Does Emu take their cement block intro with them for road games? I hope so.

Jrship, Don't get too concerned about comments made on a fan forum. It's easy to blow off at the mouth sitting anonymously behind a computer keyboard. I think a lot of us like to hear the parental perspective and appreciate your involvement, but there are going to be things written here that will make you cringe.

I love it when Conor "Feature Back" Hundley proves me wrong. Awesome job. Keep it up!

Turns out there was room at 918 North Lincoln after all. That's where we are, so swing by.

I called Alexa Doutt this morning to see if we could park in the lot where the Zips bus is going to park. The lot is full. She told me there is another lot a couple of blocks away operated by the same outfit. Gravel lot, 30 bucks. If anyone is interested, can provide a contact. I am going to Pitt this evening and making a rendezvous with fellow Zips fans and we are going to make our Saturday morning game plan over some drinks & dinner. As soon as I figure out what we are doing, I will post it on here. I know there are a lot of people who want to tailgate close to the stadium with other Zips fans. Pitt's parking setup leaves a lot to be desired. If anyone has a plan in place already and would like some company, please post it here. If not, I will make some beer time decisions and report back to the group late tonight or early tomorrow morning. Go Zips!

Good Doctor, if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all. I will let you slide if we hoist up a toast of some delicious Belgian ale this weekend.

Has anyone selected a tailgating lot for Saturday yet?

Nothing really. Just watched the highlights objectively and came to grips with the fact that we got down early to a superior team and the game was over at 14-0. It has become apparent that these Zips are not a come-from-behind ball club and that they need to get an early lead if they are going to win some ball games this year. With the difficulty in scoring, the Zips have to punch the ball in when they've got it down at the goal line. In this regard they really shot themselves in the foot vs. PSU and MU. I realize that the defense is as strong as it has ever been but this is college football and you have to score points to win. Counting on the defense to shut teams out isn't going to work. 3 points against the Nits and 3 points against the Turd up until garbage time. That ain't going to get it done. Especially because neither one of those 2 defenses put me in mind of the 1976 Pittsburgh Steelers. Lots to work on. They need to get it together because the MAC East is there for the taking with some competent play.

Will Manny Morgan get the starting nod?

I watched the weekly Bowden show and I am off the ledge and my chapped ass is healing nicely. I hate to lose anytime, but is especially painful when you get monster trucked and it's excruciating when your boss is a Marshall fan.

Who said anything about stopping?

I have enjoyed most of the Green Flash brews I have tried.
-
Some of the guys I tailgate with have been doing that since the 80's, for the love of God.

Quite a tailgate for beer Saturday. We had growlers from Platform, Great Lakes & Thirsty Dog. We had some more home brew. We had great domestics and imports. The PBR motor home was even there. ZipGrad01's dad brought a big bottle of St. Bernardus Abt. 12. That made my day. I walked over to lot 10 and met an Untappd friend in person for the first time and shared a couple of beers. Very nice to meet you, Tim. I have some Howard & Penn State beers to log for him also. Here's the Marshall list: Aiko Stiprus Brew Kettle Dark Helmet Buffalo Bill's Original Pumpkin Ale Busch Great Lakes Oktoberfest Green Flash Green Bullet Heavy Seas Red Sky at Night Hoppin' Frog Double Pumpkin Jackie O's Hop Ryot IPA Jimmy the Zip Citrieke IPA Kentucky Pumpkin Barrel Ale Leininkugel's Summer Shandy Monterrey Neshaminy Tribute Tripel New Holland Dragon's Milk Obolon Pshenychne Old Milwaukee Light Pabst Blue Ribbon Platform Rock City Platform Slam Dunkel Shipyard Pumpkinhead Sly Fox Incubus SoMe Foghorn Coffee Porter Spring House The Astounding She Monster Mango IPA St. Bernardus Abt. 12 St. Stephanus Blonde Thirsty Dog Ankle Biter IPA Uinta Dubhe Victory Summer Love Voodoo Gran Met Belgian Tripel Voodoo Hoodoo IPA Yuengling Summer Wheat ZipGrad01 ZI-PA Late Howard additions: Firestone Walker DBA Firestone Walker Wookey Jack Firestone Walker Union Jack Columbus Brewing IPA Late Penn State additions: Columbus Brewing IPA Flying Dog Doggie Style Flying Dog Pearl Necklace Oyster Stout Old Forge Falling Down Brown Old Forge Over Bite IPA Old Forge T-Rail Pale Robin Hood F. I have news for you. Beating teams of little or no significance does more for your fan base than losing.

I come to watch the Zips regardless of the opponent. They are all interesting to me, I guess. I don't believe in the fabled "Joe Akron" who's going to show up in droves someday. . . when we start winning. . . when we start bringing in interesting opponents. I don't believe in fairy tales & pipe dreams. What I believe in is supporting the school that you attended and earned your degree from. I realize I am an oddball but that is what I believe in. Joe Akron didn't care about Indiana or Syracuse. The only people who did care were the Zips die-hards and the traveling fans from those 2 schools. The only opponent Joe Akron or the "average sports fan" as Zach puts it, is going to come out to see would be the Buckeyes, which is never happening.

As a general rule, I am for the redshirting of linemen, especially on offense to get them an extra year of strength conditioning and technique experience, but if there are "skill" players that can contribute as freshmen, they should play.
-
I am with you. I didn't really think about the Marshall viewpoint until you just now brought it up, but I did not like it when I first saw it at the Howard game because it is so unoriginal. Good point, ME87.

Thanks for deepening my depression.

Infocision Stadium is in its 6th year. Share with me an interesting opponent that has visited.
