  1. I can't believe no one has commented on 13,357 attendance. Beautiful Saturday, Ohio State had a bye week, it was Band Day & an interesting opponent that traveled well. More concerning than 9,100 on an opening Thursday night if you ask me.
  2. Hell, if you want proof of how winning is most important look no further than Akron. We were feeling pretty damn good about beating the worst Miami team in their school's history, beating a terrible UMass team by a whisker, disposing of a moribund Can't squad and surviving against an unmotivated Toledo. Truth? Rant over. Go Zips! Prove my negative ass wrong!
  3. Big Zip, my rose colored glasses have been thrown in the trash. What everyone saw in the spring game and in preseason practice was no mirage. The offense has some huge problems. I don't pretend to know the answers but there need to he some big changes. How have we gone from a year one prolific passing attack with a run game that needed to take the next step to a year three sputtering passing game with a non-existent running threat? It is clear to see why Chisholm keeps his starting job. He is the best option. There is not one back on the roster that appears to be able to give him any competition whatsoever. Hundley is a nice back to have, but is is not a feature back. He is a change-up guy, a guy who can come in and get tough yards and make the tackler pay. He gets you the tough short yardage. Looking ahead, what are the prospects for the run game next year? We have got a terrible unproductive mess with NOBODY in the pipeline to replace your senior running back. How confident are you that there will be a newcomer ready to fill that spot? As far as the newspaper coverage you are absolutely correct. Winning is what is most important. That's why our scheduling needs to change. We need to have non-conference foes that we can beat. Winning is most important. The ATM games are fools gold. If these games are the only way we can fund the program, we need to stop playing football. Winning is most important. Marshall has a great shot to go undefeated this year. Because they play no one. Their soft schedule won't put a damper on their fan base's enjoyment. Theg are going to have a helluva time beating their chest about this perfect season. They will get lots of press from their smalltime rag of a newspaper. They will be having this thing called fun. We got a few hundred thousand bucks to be miserable fans of a 1-3 team looking at the schedule to find the MAC teams that are bad enough for us to beat. I'm tired of it. Winning is most important. If you want the ultimate example of how winning is most important you only need to look to Columbus. Ohio State has enjoyed a fantastic record over the past 2 coaching staffs. Of course they have played nobody and padded their record playing 8 home games against the MAC, 1-AA's & an awful Big 10. The weak schedule hasn't diminished their fan base 1 iota. No, they are more popular than ever. That's because winning is most important. People love a winner. People can even delude themselves that the team they root for is a lot better than it really is if they win all the time. That 66-0 smashing of Can't was a soothing balm for the case of the chapped ass. I am a little pissed off today. Today not tomorrow.
  4. There will be about 713 people at the next home game.
  5. Beyond pathetic. Going to the car. Terrible defensive game plan and our offense is non existent. Marshall is not that good. We are this bad. Punt it!
  6. I am really starting to get fired up for this game. Hopefully, we get a decent crowd and can make a little noise. Let's get it, Zips!
  7. Looking for someone who is proficient in Adobe Illustrator who could create a professional looking logo for this rough idea. I know this one needs lots of work and the scale of the T is off, but. . .
  8. Who could blame ESPN for pimping the SEC? They are the best conference. Who else would ESPN pimp? But really, I think ESPN pimps the top teams. Just so happens most of the top teams are from the SEC. The talking heads do a lot of cock pulling for FSU, Oklahoma, Stanford, Oregon and ND too. When USC and Texas are good they get a lot of attention as well. But if there is this SEC bias as you say, you have to give a lot of credit to Mike Slive because he was very smart and partnered with the worldwide leader for the SEC Network. Jim Delaney was slightly less bright when he partnered with FOX for the Big 10 Network. FOX isn't in the position to pimp anything.
  9. Why didn't we think of this before?! The Rubber Bowl would be a great location for Browns Training Camp! Problem solved! Now we can stop pitching a bitch about the pitch.
  10. Speaking of the Big 10, the question of the day from Mark Packer on SXM91 was how many Big 10 teams would run the table & win the MAC. Eddie George's response: 5. Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin & Nebraska. Mark followed up with the comment that 5 or 10 years ago, such a question on a national broadcast would have been scoffed at and dismissed out of hand as ludicrous. Today, it is totally legitimate.
  11. Sneak peek of the new Nike unis with backwards Z on right side of the helmet. These are sure to fire up the team for a big victory. Oops, wrong thread.
  12. I want to go grubbin' with GP1.
  13. Wow. I stopped reading after the Morgan State error. I should have known to expect more.

  16. I think that is fantastic & no that could never happen in Akron because our alumni fan base would be too cheap to contribute any money to get it done.
  17. Here's my deal. I'm going to post this then I am done. I couldn't care less about the soccer pitch. Never been to a soccer game. Never will. Don't care. I understand a lot of you do care about it and I respect that, but that is beside the point for me. The advocates for Cleveland Browns Training Camp being held at UA claim exposure to our campus will be a real boon for our school. I couldn't disagree more. While at first blush it may seem logical that this would be so, I think not. If UA hosts NFL training camp, we will join this prestigious list: St. John Fisher College Wofford College Olivet Nazarene University St. Norbert College Anderson University Missouri Western State University Minnesota State University SUNY at Cortland St. Vincent College I don't want to fight or get into a back & forth about this and I certainly don't fault the advocates that want something positive for UA, but if the rewards of hosting were what the advocates would have me believe, I don't think this group of schools would be hosting. We are 3 weeks into the college football season and the hottest topic on our board is about Cleveland Browns training camp. Speaks volumes.
  18. These early kicks are starting to piss me off.
  19. Thanks for the link, Zach. Everyone needs to read the rules. Judging from my Facebook news feed, we had a lot of participation that counted for nothing. Joe Bruin is now in 1st place. That would be Zippy had she won because she was ahead of Joe before this round started.
  20. Zach, where are you getting these rules from?
  21. Getting excited about hosting the Browns for training camp is the epitome of #ThinkSmaller. It is beyond irrelevant. Take a look at the colleges that have hosted NFL training camps past & present. It is a list of institutions that just don't matter. Christ Almighty. The Browns used to set up camp at Can't for crying out loud.
  22. Yes! Applications boomed for Lakeland Community College when the Browns were there in the 80's.
  23. I think it would be great if the Browns would utilize the U for training camp. Hosting an NFL will pay great dividends. I mean, look what it's done for Wofford.
