  1. Absolutely. I was very impressed by the way I was treated. They are really trying to make us happy, I think.
  2. Got my season tickets today. Unfortunately, I did not get lot 9. I called my ticket rep to see if the lot was full or if I could upgrade with a larger donation to the Z-fund. He said he would check it out for me and let me know, but I am totally bummed. If I can't pull the upgrade, I am going to have to leave my tailgating gear in the garage because its just not worth setting up otherwise Hold everything. As I was typing this the phone rang. My rep, Anthony DiFino, was calling me back to let me know that a mistake was made and my lot 9 pass was in his hand and that he would put it in the mail immediately. Wow. Talk about going from down in the dumps to ecstatic in a matter of minutes. Here's the kicker. To say sorry for the mix up, I get to go down on the field for warmups for 1 game. I chose Can't. Hot damn! Time to go buy the tailgating upgrades I have been waiting to make until I knew I was going to get lot 9. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! Thank you Anthony DiFino. You stop by before the Temple game and I will feed you like a King.
  3. If you compare ZN.O to other MAC boards in terms of quantity of threads and amount of activity, this forum is right at the top. Must be doing something right.
  4. Wasn't the pizza in the Chuckery called "Altieri's ZIPizza"?
  5. Raquel turns 70 in September.
  6. The band is going to be playing "Apache" a lot this fall!
  7. Perhaps you didn't hear, the recession ended in 2009.
  8. I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL THIS GODDAMNED GAME IS OVER.
  9. Thank you, Dr. Z. Road trip to Chesterland!
  10. 7-5 gets a lot of mac teams to a bowl game. I hate Can't.
  11. Put me in the boat with GP1 and B&G. Ask me after the Temple game. I have high hopes that there will be several pleasant surprises with the newcomers. In my eyes, the success of the team depends on guys we've never seen in a game doing great things. To a degree, that is always the story in CFB, but it seems exaggerated for this young Zips team. Beating Can't is the one thing that must happen this year. I am happier at 5-7 beating them than I am at 7-5 losing to them. 5-7 with a win over Can't is my hope. If they can pull this off and look competent and competitive doing it, the expectations will be ratcheted up several notches for 2012.
  12. We have a Buehler's in Ashland which has the best selection in town but it is...in Ashland. Some of you may know what I mean. The Buehler's in Wooster is better than Ashland but plays second fiddle to Gary's Liquor. In Akron, West Point Market and Primo's Deli have a fair selection, but I am probably unaware of some better spots. The Brunswick store blew my mind. They claim 500 Varieties of bottled beer and they have 8 beers on tap that you can fill your growler with. Lots of singles if that's your deal. I was talking to a patron there who said Brunswick was the pilot store for the expanded beer selection and if it was successful they planned to enlarge the beer departments at other locations. Maybe they are starting to do that by the sound of the Jackson selection.
  13. Bintang??? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bintang_Beer You know Doug, I didn't really pay a whole lot of attention to the import section, but it looked to be almost all European, nothing Asian jumped out at me, but it could have been there. I just really can't say. The import section was dwarfed by the American Micros, which had me under their spell, so I am not a good judge. Sorry, Doug. I will pay more attention from now on when I am on a beer trek.
  14. Last night as I was trying to go to sleep, it hit me that you didn't mention Tyler Williams. You get a star for your report.
  15. Buelhler's in Brunswick has got an incredible selection of craft beer. It's worth the drive. Killer, killer, killer beer department.
  16. +1. Thanks, JZ84! How many spectators were there? Wish I could have made it.
  17. JZ84 is going. I look forward to his report, since I have to work and can't make it. Your CM8 report is encouraging. Hopefully we will get some corroborating eyewitness accounts tomorrow evening.
  18. Done. I'll have it at the first tailgate. Keener, you have to stop over for a taste, just to say you did. OK, twist my arm. But if I don't like it can I give mine to JZ84's wife too?
  19. If Clayton Moore can make good things happen, I think they should pass out Lone Ranger masks at the gate. But Doctor, mango beer? Aww Hell Naw! How did you even hear about that foul concoction?
  20. Thank you JZ84! Called today and ordered my jersey. Ashley from AFC told me they are really close to the authentic jersey. She said the only real difference is there are not logos on the sleeves because they looked "obnoxious" because they are too big. Don't know. That's what she told me. She also said, no guarantees, but they are aiming to get the jerseys in by the Temple game. Soooooo, if anybody wants to get in on this deal, you need to call Ashley as soon as possible.
  21. I would love to have a 34 jersey to wear. I have a real Zips jersey that I can't wear. It is an offensive line jersey and it is skin tight and doesn't really have sleeves. A fit young person could get away with wearing it, but a fat 42 year old looks absolutely ridiculous. It looks like I am wearing a sleeveless sausage casing with puffy shoulders. Not pretty. Then your ship has come in, Keener! Attention all Zip football fans: Akron Felt, located at 1205 George Washington Blvd, has Zip jerseys available for custom orders. These are special ordered, quality Adidas jerseys (Navy) available in all numbers, with or without sewn names on the back (price varies per letter). A few of us are getting Wagner #34 jerseys, and since we're buying a bunch we're getting them at $86.05 a piece. If you opt for another name/number, the regular rate is approximately $94.55 (based on 6 letters). If you'd like to order, please ask for Ashley (330-733-7778). The orders will take about 3 weeks to process. Go Zips!!!!!
  22. I think Al may have crapped a golden brick when he heard the news.
  23. Nice try, but I'm not taking your bait.
  24. Of course this was the number one story on the radio this morning. Were you listening to Bill King, Hilltopper? He said the same thing, that this scandal makes OSU's look like absolute child's play. Did you see the short interview with Al Golden on ESPN yesterday? He looked like he had seen a ghost.
  25. There is nothing wrong with letting the competition play out. The same thing is going on at Texas, Miami and Notre Dame. Sometimes the coaching staff makes a QB decision early that is wrong. That's what happened to Texas A&M last year if you will recall.
