  1. Rockets came to play tonight. Can BG come back from 23 down?
  2. Here's another one, Shock. http://zipsnation.org/forums/topic/19098-akron-things-to-do-where-to-eat/
  3. Defensive Player of the Week: Akron LB Jatavis Brown Akron senior linebacker Jatavis Brown (Belle Glade, Fla.) led all defenders with 11 tackles, two sacks, a career-high 4.5 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, one break-up, and the first interception of his career in a 37-28 win at Miami. With his two sacks, Brown set the school record for sacks in a season, the previous record was 10.0 held by Jason Taylor and Ken Williams. He now has 10.5 sacks. After 10 games, Brown has 88 tackles, a team-best 16.0 tackles for loss, and a team-best 10.5 sacks for a loss of 80 yards, three hurries, two forced fumbles, and an interception. http://mac-sports.com/news/2015/11/16/FB_1116154924.aspx Well deserved, Jatavis.
  4. Skip, I don't think anyone is saying that getting blown out in a bowl game would be doom for the program. My whole post was kind of tongue-in-cheek about praying for the best possible outcome. There are some matchups that would be disastrous, but certainly not the end of the world. The sun came up the morning of March 22, 2013 and it would come up the day after a bowl game beatdown as well. I don't think the basketball program was damaged by that NCAA Tournament defeat but it sure was a bitter pill for a Zips fan to swallow. I remember feeling like I had been punched in the stomach the next day. I sincerely hope the Zips get a beatable team if they make it to a bowl, but it is good for the program no matter what. I haven't read any posts in this thread that made me think that anyone was advocating it was better to not make a bowl vs. going and getting our ass handed to us. I certainly hope it wasn't my post that made anyone think that because I definitely didn't mean it that way.
  5. Yes. I've tried reloading and it doesn't help.
  6. Who is 55?
  7. Absolutely. Such terrible scheduling by the league office. BG-Toledo on a Tuesday night makes a lot of sense too.
  8. Near sell out on Black Friday?
  9. As hot headed as our defense has been at times this year, can you imagine them getting cut blocked every play? We would have 32 unsportsmanlike conducts by the end of the first half.
  10. By far, the greatest benefit of the Zips going to a bowl.
  11. Although our defense has carried us this far, I don't think they could be described as disciplined and you have to be extremely disciplined against Navy's offense. I think it would be a match up nightmare.
  12. What we have to pray for is a win versus the Canadians and an evisceration of Can't. The Zips finish with a 7-5 record & bowl bid but don't stop praying yet. They need a bowl match up miracle because as Z.I.P said earlier in another thread, there are a couple of potential bowl match ups that would prove as disastrous as the Akron/VCU draw. Akron really needs to win out and see if it makes a positive impact in recruiting.
  13. Ouch.
  14. Jatavis Brown: 7 solo tackles, 4 assists, 2 sacks, a forced fumble and an interception. What a performance.
  15. More like our coaches aren't smart enough to hold a comfortable lead. Miami is putrid. 2 weeks in a row the Zips play a nail biter against 2 of the absolute worst teams in the country. Any other conclusion is spin, pure and simple.
  16. Stein saves the day.
  17. This is a slow motion train wreck.
  18. I am as sick of our special teams as I am sick of this goddamn ipad commercial they play every break.
  19. They have sucked all year. It's ridiculous and unacceptable.
  20. Jatavis Brown is like a cheetah running down prey.
  21. Nice call.
  22. That bad call cost the Zips 6.
  23. C'mon Zips. Smell the blood in the water and bury these chumps. Make a statement today.
  24. He is a qualified bona-fide stud. What pursuit. We are gonna miss him so bad. Damn.
  25. I heard he needs to work on his blocking.
