These Barstool dudes remind me of that party I went to at the TKE frat once. All the guys there were loud, drunk, sexually harassed the girls we were with and wanted to fight us. I think if they got old and started a sports media company, it would be exactly like Barstool.

Shumate has a very punchable face. Almost like a Toledo version of Christian Laettner.

To be fair these aren't legitimate sports announcers. We're basically getting a Manningcast style broadcast. Just a bunch of random podcasters and the president of Barstool talking about a game. No way we're starting until like 7:30 now

I've never been one to back my own team. But I'm taking the Akron moneyline at +215. Why they heck not?

A kid making a steal, in a tied game with seconds left on the clock is an awesome play. He saved the game for us and that's the most infuriating part. If it was a random missed layup in the first half, fine we can have a few chuckles about it. But we're really supposed to laugh at that play? Give me a break.

Portnoy has his own list of controversies too. Between his treatment of women, his political views (which have gotten a bit better over the years) and just overall being a jerk to people. I do however enjoy his pizza reviews and the fact that he hates Ohio State.

I was REALLY sweating this one out for both reasons. I can't imagine what people go through that bet large sums of money, when I'm stressing over a few bucks.

That missed layup sums up the night perfectly. One team is making everything and getting all the lucky bounces, the other is hustling like crazy but can't catch a break.

Man this game is so frustrating. Feel like every time the Zips cut the deficit down to a few points, or tie it up, SD goes on a huge run.

Glad I'm not the only one who does this! People say it's dumb, but honestly I can't imagine betting on any of my teams to actually win. Watching the Zips lose and also losing money would be brutal.

Interesting. I went back and forth and actually took SDS +3. Maybe it's all the years of watching KD's teams come out flat to start the year, or just my negative nancy NE Ohio fandom getting in the way. I have a feeling it's going to be a really tight came that can go either way.

Heck I'd buy those shorts in every color. Even stuff with the new logo is extremely limited. But that's a whole other discussion. I've always been frustrated they don't sell jerseys. My only guess is that Nike probably doesn't think it's worth it to produce replicas for smaller schools? The only Zips jerseys I own are game worn ones I found on eBay.

These are classy as hell. The navy and white uniform shorts have a big A logo on the right leg that looks pretty great.

Defender made contact, never turned around to look at the ball and never attempted to make a play on the ball. Textbook pass interference.

I guess it boils down to how this country handles guns vs how they handle weed. Obtaining a gun legally is one of the easiest processes and the fact that he was in possession of an unregistered gun, shows there's more at play here. I'd say blaming it on someone else is just an easy way to get out of it. I'd assume that the "friend" that had the gun isn't a Division 1 athlete.

Especially since he's probably involved in some shady crap if he's carrying an unregistered firearm.

Lebron has always been a bit of a frontrunner. His favorite pro teams and the Yankees and Cowboys. He has no real school to call home so he's going to gravitate towards the biggest one in Ohio. He's not going to go out of his way to pump up a football team that's only victory is against St. Francis and is averaging 1-win a season. If the Zips ever knocked off a Top25 team, won a bowl game, conference championship, etc I'd bet he'd give the program a nice shout-out. Just like he does if the Browns, Guardians and even Cavs are doing well.

I wonder how many people can make a catch with no defenders within 10 yards. I'd say probably all of us. Those are the types of plays that cost teams games. The Zips just aren't good enough right now to afford leaving points on the board.

I feel like weapons charges happen a lot with athletes and it usually doesn't amount to anything serious legally (Kevin Porter, Gilbert Arenas, etc). The claim is that he was driving a borrowed car from a friend. Definitely seems like there are character issues at play here and will probably lead to a suspension at least.

Don't think we had much of chance, but that fumble was a killer. Would have been nice to at least start the game strong. Instead we'll probably be looking at a 14-0 deficit.
