  1. Our QB, if healthy, which is a big IF, is one of the better QBs in the MAC. The bigger concern is WR. We lost two guys from last year who are currently on NFL rosters. There are a handful of guys that could have made a leap and turned into respectable WRs, but its a big question mark.

  3. Didn't do a whole lot outside of that kick return. If I had to guess, 5 catches for ~30 yards.
  4. He should definitely still bring that big play threat. It'd be great if he developed into a more well rounded WR this offseason. And I agree with you, Skip. Plenty of guys with the potential to have developed and turn into solid guys. I would consider Coney and Wolfe as our known commodities, but then you have Bickley, Young, Smith, Stewart, Chapman, and maybe even Gladney and the true frosh Williams. It's just a big unknown. Hopefully one or two of them did.
  5. Aurora vs Solon just started on Spectrum Sports if any of you all are looking to kill some time this morning.
  6. Anyone attend the golf outing yesterday? If so, any interesting info to share?
  7. Is that a good or bad thing?
  8. hopefully i'll be able to find the replay.
  9. 16 offers?! Holy smokes. Gotta assume that includes FCS and maybe even D2 offers as well, but scout/247 only show 1.

  11. Mississippi Valley State, that's 8 of ~13. Really don't know why we are waiting so long to release the schedule.
  12. You are stretching my words quite a bit. Though I will say I think players value the opportunity to play against Penn State much more than they do Arkansas Pine Bluff.
  13. Even for Michigan "sucking", they only won one less game than they did the year Appy State beat them.
  14. There were the same complaints when he was here. Do you think Groce is making this year's schedule too strong? The Zips are largely in a rebuilding year under similar circumstances and our OOC blows their out of the water (and we only know half of it).
  15. You guys realize this isn't like basketball and the schedules are made years in advance, right? It really is impossible to predict how ANY team will be 5 years from now. Hell even OSU had a year where they won the Sugar Bowl and then had a losing record the next season (and almost lost to Toledo). I can't be the only one who remembers Ohio beating Penn State a few years ago. I can't be the only one who remembers when we came within a few inches of beating ranked Michigan. Yes it turned out Michigan sucked that year, but there was no reason to think that team was going to suck going into the game - same with Penn State. I wonder if Appy State fans are complaining about the "slaughter" games. That "slaughter game" made them famous! Going against good competition makes you better and will prepare you more for conference play. You play the games for a reason. I bet our players are loving the chance to go on national television with a chance to shock the world. Go Zips!
  16. I am admittedly not to impressed with his tape, but I did find this, which could explain why he wasn't offered by others. He was offered to WVU as a freshman - Dana's first ever offer to a freshman. http://wvmetronews.com/2014/02/24/high-school-freshman-maverick-wolfley-commits-for-2017/
  17. "At 6-3, 225 pounds, Wolfley will switch from fullback to linebacker at Akron, a position that he likely fits better at." He is a class of 2017 3 star recruit (whose only offer was interestingly WVU). Looks like an early enrollee. I'd guess he has to sit out since he enrolled?? Not really a negative though as he is a true freshman. http://247sports.com/Player/Maverick-Wolfley-45495?Institution=22743
  18. I get the logic of sitting and I really don't disagree, especially after Wisconsin last year, but it is just not a good message to send to your team.
  19. Good to read. Somebody should bump those 2017 QB threads
  20. ^^ That is interesting! I recall hearing he was sticking around as a business professor (as ironic as it was). For some reason I didn't think that ended up happening though. I figured he would be back in Texas by now.
  21. It really is nice to have a President like Mr. Wilson. Such a night and day difference compared to Scarb. Not that I'm defending him, but I don't really think Scarby ever had a chance though. Somebody had to be the scapegoat for the hole Proenza put us in.
  22. Official apparel provider for the Zips?! Sounds cool..but what exactly does it mean?
  23. Jesus. He somehow made it weaker than his Akron OOC schedules.
  24. Sorry. I got it mixed up with the Diamond Head classic in Honolulu.
