  1. That uh...doesn't look good. Dang.
  2. Forget the name, but I remember reading WMU's would be leading returning tackler who was intending on transferring changed his mind and is going to stay. A little hit to my chances!
  3. I'm not sure I know of anyone doing that. I have stated I'm fine with moving on if the program is where it was last year when his contract is up.
  4. The stories that impress me are stories about winning. Don't really care who is involved in doing it. You act like the "stars" didn't work their butt off to be rated as high as they were. Speculating that they think they are too good to be here is baseless. I highly doubt any of them would be here if they didn't want to be. If you want to root for the little guy, I know of a midget PG who plays at Duquesne. Come to think of it, we were his only offer. Yeah, he was sure happy to be here. Akron is an upgrade over 2, maybe even 3 of the programs we got players from. Lastly, calling players "busts" or whatever after their freshman season's is a very lazy assertion.
  5. Possibly. Have to see where he ends up first.
  6. It will be close. Assuming he is DE, you've got Ogbah, Garrett, Nassib as locks. Tyrone Holmes (2015 FCS sack leader who spent last year on the roster) is a guy he will have to beat out and another is Nate Orchard (2nd round pick in 2015, out all last year with injury). Orchard played I believe DE at Utah, but OLB in the 3-4. It is unclear exactly where he will be as he is listed on the roster as LB, but my guess is probably DE.
  7. Get that hammy healthy, Jamal.
  8. No deal. A lot has to go right for any UDFA to make an opening day roster, let alone one who got cut at rookie mini camp. Practice squad is a little more tempting of a bet to take, but can't make that bet in good conscience without knowing circumstances. I just don't buy that his football career is over just like that.
  9. I've seen multiple people now say his career is over and another one mention the CFL. Anyone want to bet that he doesn't get a chance somewhere else?
  10. Didn't Eubanks redshirt last year? I think that makes him a Redshirt Junior going into next season.
  11. Getting an extra year out of him would be a nice bonus.
  12. Hey Mr. Williams. Get this Liberty AD on the phone. A nice pay day and a great chance to win sounds like a good deal to me. http://deadspin.com/liberty-was-so-desperate-for-an-fbs-home-opener-it-agr-1795243660?utm_campaign=socialflow_deadspin_twitter&utm_source=deadspin_twitter&utm_medium=socialflow
  13. Come on guys. While it is surprising and not a good look that he has been cut this early, I would bet his career is far from over.
  14. Wow that was quick! Especially considering he was signed and not just brought in for a try out. Jerome just can't escape the shadow of Jojo.I wonder if his mom has taken to twitter yet to voice her displeasure.
  15. Marcus no longer has an OSU picture (but still an Akron picture) on his twitter profile, for those inquiring minds.
  16. My expectations are that he will be a quality player capable of running the offense, anything else will be gravy as I expect Ivey and Utomi to lead the team on the offensive side. He has certainly shown flashes during his career, has experience against some of the best talent in the nation, and is a 5th year senior. Coupled with the mass exodus of MAC talent, I don't see any reason why expecting him to be solid at worst is unreasonable.
  17. Who said that isn't the goal? Expecting that in a transition year is REALLY unrealistic though.
  18. Only 4 players from last season's team will be on this years. Crazy. Encouraging players previously good enough for the team under KD like Aa Jackson and Dalton to leave seems like a good thing as you have to assume those scholly's are going to be filled by better players. Feel much better about the season now that Duvivier is official. Expecting Patton to captain the ship would have been too much. It will be interesting to see how these guys come together.

  20. Good speculation and probably something that would be interesting to find out. Even though the total doesn't seem to be there, I would say a power back averaging 13 yards/attempt is "tearing it up". Also, here is your answer. http://247sports.com/Player/Shaun-Shivers-82856/
