There are a lot more than 13 new faces. Only 2 members from the signing class have not shown up - Bentley and Jacobs, one of which is apparently greyshirting and one who only had 1 FBS offer. As I said, take everything on there with a grain of salt.
Obviously you have to take these things with a grain of salt but some things that stuck out:
I don't see either of our late 2017 commits in Dre Williams or Dylan Meeks.
Still no Brian Bell. Still no Jamal Davis.
The Wilmington WR is gone.
Two of our "touted" freshman DEs are there. No surprise with Sampson, but Hanson is a pleasant surprise as I think I read him qualifying was up in the air.
No Marquise Bridges or Marquess Callaway. I also don't see Zaire Jacobs (the S from St. Thomas Aquinas).
That is why I am a big proponent of (at least) an 8 team playoff. Give the highest rated G5 team a chance to win it all. It is pretty messed up that over half of the FBS programs have a nearly 0% chance to even play for a national championship before a down is played. I'm willing to bet there isn't a single other NCAA sport set up that way.
WMU would have gotten smacked by Alabama....but it would have been cool to watch. Just like its fun to watch the basketball team play Notre Dame or whoever.
That is awesome! If you don't get students hooked while they are in school, its highly doubtful they will get hooked after they are gone. Donate the camper
I agree that calling Lebron out isn't the best argument. Most fans at any college game are drunk. What are you doing, gmann? I'd say all of us are doing as much as we can. Trying to create a fun gameday atmosphere (tailgaiting), buying season tickets, going to the games, inviting people to go. What else can we do? Calling people on this forum out about their fandom doesn't seem to be constructive.
Throw in Miami, Buffalo, and WVU and its up to 15 Balsy. And I know we like to think of YSU as below us (and they are), but I think its naive to say we don't compete with the FCS runner-ups at all.
I am assuming this schedule isn't correct. 1 home game, no games at the Info??

Phil Steele has us ranked 5th in the country with the "most experience" returning. Probably more of an important stat for G5 programs than it is for some of the top P5's.

Nice to get him. Also had FBS offers to Kent and CMU per Scouting Ohio. I need to find my way to an East game or two this year to get a look at some of these guys in person.

Also this article from scout at the beginning of the month.

I don't buy it that this is a problem exclusive to Akron for one second. Yeah it isn't going to happen at Tennessee or Florida and I know you didn't say that is who they are fans of, but just where they are from. I guarantee it happens at about every other G5 school that has to compete for fans and attendance with an instate P5 school.
McSorely and Barkely will be the 2 of the most talented offensive players in the country this year. I think most know enough about Barkely, but McSorely really impressed me when I saw him a few times at the end of last season. Reminded me a lot of a Texas A&M QB in college that the Browns drafted a few years ago.
