  1. Goal to go and no points is..not winning football.
  2. Red Zone opportunity blown.
  3. Starting at mid field, points would be nice here
  4. We can’t run, we can’t block long enough to throw. It’s early, but thus far OL doesn’t appear improved.
  5. Nice pick. Rough first drive for offense.
  6. Finley is playing per coach on pregame show. also - wasn’t the pregame show on 640WHLO an hour in years past? It’s only been 15 mins the first 2 weeks of the season.
  7. That sucks. Good to hear they're trying though.
  8. What are some creative things other schools are doing?
  9. Looks sweet!
  10. Hate to have the "loser" mentality, but if Finley isn't close to 100% (which I'd be shocked if it were the case), I'd lean towards sitting him this week and try and get him back for Colgate which is a must win. Then play it by ear for South Carolina. I saw some clips of a true freshman SC DE earlier on twitter. Looked like a beast against Old Dominion.
  11. I think there are a lot of positives to take from the game, but having trouble not letting our QB situation over shadow it all. Finley was looking rough. Taj does look improved (and i liked how the staff was using them together), but don’t think the downfield passing is there yet.
  12. The scoreboard not being ready by the home opener would be absolutely inexcusable.
  13. There a lot of blame to go around. Starting with Guthrie for scheduling this game, then the staff for not taking him out earlier/helping out the RT who was getting beat pretty quickly every play.
  14. Like many others, feel score wasn’t really indicative of how the game when. Obviously OSU had us over matched at every position, and the longer you play the worse the score differential will be. Proud of how our guys fought, and we don’t see to be too beat up, aside from Finley which is probably the most important position on the team. Dude has to have some serious shoulder bruising and perhaps a broken rib. It still pisses me off that we scheduled this game. I thought Bullock looked better, but still not a downfield thrower. nice to see Bobby Golden make some guys miss, and some other hs guys like Dall, Murphy, and White make some meaningful plays. biggest weakness looked like RT (and oline in general). Lot of moving parts there and unfortunately I think dealing with injuries from camp. Hope we can settle in on core starters by the time conference play starts. With all the new pieces, understandable need to have some time to figure out best combinations, but I’m about over this being an annual process.
  15. What in the living hell. Down goes Finley on the first play. We have the worst luck
  16. It’s sloppy by whoever put it out is what it is unfortunately. It’s either his info from last year that was never changed (as it doesn’t match the position where he’s listed first string) or the wrong person entirely.
  17. No clue how accurate (though a lot of it does look like what we’d expect), but there is now a depth chart on GoZips.com in the game notes.
  18. How many new students do you need to attract for it to break even?
  19. I must gloss over your all MAC predictions. Who do you got for the 2023 and 2024 classes?
  20. What progress would you have been looking for to be more positive? General consensus is that at minimum, we have a better QB than last year, and that alone would've probably would've let to multiple more wins. Biggest loss might've been Lingard, but I think we have a solid replacement and Lingard was gross underutilized as is. Plus, Joe is back calling the plays.
  21. I completely agree. Hate to already look at next season before this one even starts, but with schedule and returning players, 2025 is really when the program should start hitting its stride. 4 wins min should be the baseline this season assuming Finley is mostly healthy. Its time for progress to be made in the win column, though it may not be substantial.
  22. I saw Arth multiple times on the sideline for the Steelers last night. Seems like a solid guy, but from a coaching aspect..talk about failing forward. Horrible at Akron, land a job coaching Justin Herbert. Staff gets fired and then get a job coaching Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. Of course, neither have looked good this offseason so far.
  23. thanks for sharing. I am assuming Lewis III is a starter at S. Any insight on who the other S, as well as the two starting corners will be? Would imagine David, Greenwood, and possibly Dimarco Johnson in play. At outside CB - not sure if I think anyone is set in stone, but Hunter, Golden-Nelson, Reed, DeWalt, Anderson and Jarmon are all in play.
  24. This is legit the worst coverage I can remember. Nothing from the university besides pictures and a few highlight videos. Nothing from the ABJ. Sad.
  25. Agree. Ark St, Yale, Princeton, St Mary’s, and Sun Belt return game will all be good tests against mid major opponents. Think the lack of the tourney in a tropical destination against good mid majors/P5 is what makes it look so blah.
