That linked excerpt should be entitled altruism not compromise. Yes, the NCAA is a political organization. Political organization is not what this exerpt is about. Excerpt regards the philosophy and morality of altruism. I watched the linked excerpt again. I read the book decades ago. I own the paper back. The literature does not apply to this situation, of AU suffering abuse at the hands of the NCAA.

Zips looked sharp, but could not finish with neither Brenes nor Koroma available. I love him, but Schmitt is most effective off the bench. Abdul-Salaam subbed in at about 60 minutes. (Verify that statistic.) But what really got things flowing was Quinn, who had begun at MF, subbed in at CF, where he has not seen time since last season. Things just starting happening. Porter just knows who to plug where. We scored two quick goals. Abdul-Salaam's goal was a thing of beauty. This kid will be special.

Derschang is a 6 ft. physical guy who runs and tackles well. At the beginning of the season, he seemed like a good sub off the bench @ Forward. Porter's genius is finding unlikely slots for quality players. Roster is willing to play a position they perhaps have never played before, just because they trust Porter. That, and they want into the first 11.
