  1. Exactly. Where are the places for alley dice ? games, prostitutes, drug dealers, pit bull fights, etc. ? ie. the usual. I want to get good and comfortable before I watch Zips stomp Cardinals. Am I wrong?!?
  2. Imagine Fordham’s surprise!
  3. I am not looking at the RPI right now, but the difference in the seeding might be our draw at St. Louis.
  4. Move those speakers to other side of the field, or somewhere else?
  5. I am continually amazed and disappointed at those who run the public address at Zips’ Soccer. (Believe you me, I am toning down this message a lot). I will forgive all other transgressions, but playing post match music OVER TOP of STUDENTS and PLAYERS chanting TOGETHER?!? THAT I WILL NOT FORGIVE!!! I love music played loudly. But what choice cuts are preferred over the organic (and brief) celebratory chanting? Answer? NONE. NONE!!! Nothing should be preferred over that tradition. I will attribute this STUPIDITY to youthful inexperience and lack of situational awareness. Should It ever be learned that such practice is an institutional decision, well, it will then be time for a personal visit to someone’s office. You, my friend, are in a unique position to comment on this.
  6. Stuart Holthusen has scored at least one goal in 7 consecutive matches. One hat trick and one brace in that time span. The last match in which Stu did NOT score was October 24th in Pittsburgh. He has 12 on the season. THAT is finishing strong! The senior may play at some professional level after all. But before that, he needs to score more for Zips!
  7. Badger #10 Mueller can play on my team any day.
  8. On this Thanksgiving, I am thankful that the Akron Zips are still in the NCAA Tournament. (Zips Soccer is much more palatable dinner conversation that national politics.) That alone makes 2017 a successful soccer season. The A-Roo flag yet flies from my front porch during Thanksgiving! As many of you know, that is the indication of a good year in Zips Soccer. Cheers to all Akron Zips throughout the world! May everyone have a blessed holiday with family and friends!
  9. Time for Salmon Stew (Corn on the side). ? (cough)
  10. Contributions you have made to numerous soccer forums are respected and appreciated. I do not intend to be condescending or pedantic. I only wish to communicate. NCAA must become more like FIFA rather than less. If NCAA soccer wishes to remain relevant to the US Soccer Big Picture, they must adopt FIFA rules. Those rules include draws being scored for one point. In a tournament setting, one side must advance (obviously). The time honored, if odious, method to determine who advances is PKs. The advancing side gains only the one point for the draw, because match was not decided during play. RPI is an American departure from FIFA rules, but FIFA has similar mechanisms to seed tournaments. A neutral site draw is not worth as much as a neutral site win. Not in old fashioned FIFA scoring. Not in RPI. While the overall RPI changed during that same time, the relationship between Indiana and Wisconsin did NOT change after their match last week in BiG Final. In relation to each other, how these two sides were before the match remained unchanged after the match. Nothing was decided in that draw. RPI did not tilt one way or another. I seems to me that you are advocating weighting RPI differently, awarding a greater bonus to teams that advance via PKs. That is a worthy discussion. But bear in mind that the more you mess with the bonus' and penalties in RPI, the further from FIFA tournament scoring we get. I fervently believe that making NCAA soccer (almost) exactly like FIFA soccer is the only way collegiate soccer will increase its influence. No side should move up in ranking (or seeding) by advancing via PKs. Someone had to be BiG Tourney Champ. Had Wisconsin won the BiG Final, they would have been seeded higher. But that did not happen. It was a draw.
  11. Indiana and Wisconsin drew. Wisconsin advanced on PKs. That is the age old nomenclature.
  12. Oh God, yes. Beautiful. Right in front of me. I yelled as soon as he struck that ball. Perfect!
  13. That is a politcal statement waiting to happen. This is a once in a lifetime PR opportunity. Want to keep the Crew? Post that picture on a billboard along one of the highways. You should at least post that on BigSoccer.com.
  14. This must become the campaign poster for keeping Crew in Columbus! Exquisite!
  15. Badgers are happy for a sloppy field and cold temperatures . We may luck out and have neither. I also agree that Wisconsin and Stanford are teams who WANT to go to PKs. Did you see Wisconsin GK bury his PK vs. Indiana?
  16. Well, somebody still got to kill off Stanford. Hopefully.
  17. Careful. You are inviting Special Counsel investigation.
  18. Coastal Carolina Chanticleers! Coached by former Zip enforcer/bad ass Shaun Docking.
  19. Badgers are no bargain! I would almost rather play Irish again. Wisconsin are big and physical. http://www.uwbadgers.com/index.aspx?path=msoc #10 Chris Mueller is BiG10 Offensive POTY. He is the real deal, a future professional. http://www.uwbadgers.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=5210&path=msoc
  20. “What kind of doctor removes shoes from asses?”
