  1. Very sloowwww.
  2. Joao is very decisive when he takes any risk. If he surges forward, he does so with pace and conviction. We have not seen that here since Zarek Valentin. I doubt Zips coaching staff is totally cool with that, BTW. Not from CB. And when Joao decides a play is over, it is over! There is either a change in posseion or a foul. ❤️ Joao!
  3. Impressive Victory! Joao Moutinho #2 continues to shine from the back line at CB. He is officially my favorite Zip. He has a good all round game, with a bit of nasty. His potential is limitless. Daniel Strachan #25 was surprisingly proficient at CB as well.
  4. I believe it is documented somewhere on this forum that I observed Skye Harter as having the best Spring campaign of any Zip. I now rate Harter ahead of #13 at HMF (no offense intended toward anyone).
  5. Welcome! Stop back early and often!
  6. Scrimmage vs. Loyola really must have taken a toll on Zips. Overall health of squad is an issue going in to Denver.
  7. 2017, but I dig the enthusiasm.
  8. Loyola MD were a good test for Zips. They were athletic and organized. Zips played well for most of the match. But the last 10 minutes was a train wreck. No purpose is served by calling out players who will likely play a total of 10 minutes on the year. Embick emptied the bench for the last 20 plus bench. Even so, the Zips in there played abysmally. There is no way Loyola should have had all those chances in the last 10 minutes, with their starters in or not. Doesn't matter. I am disappointed that some at the end of our bench played as though they had some better place to be, something else they preferred doing. There was no pride in Zips' performance during the last 10 minutes of that match. I hope that bitter taste in our mouths (coaches, players, everybody) stays until the victory over Utah Valley State is safely in the books.
  9. For me, bright spots were Joao Moutinho #2 at CB and David Egbo #14 at Striker. Moutinho is confident on the ball, an accurate passer, and has quick feet. Very pleased with him. Egbo is a beast, very strong. And very physical. He reminds me Jozy Altidore. Egbo shows willingness to link up with teammates in the final third.
  10. Waters not putting out in training. Some say he is not match fit. Watters did not "earn" a uniform this week. Let us hope Waters turns it around.
  11. I have not missed a home match (regular, preseason, spring) since Fall 2006 season. I will be there, with a hostage guest.
  12. Tix arrived. Crisis abated..
  13. oiy! Where my tix at, yo!
  14. And our Joao Moutinho is too old to be the son of João Filipe Iria Santos Moutinho.
  15. It would be too much to expect that this will occur, but do not be surprised should EZ break out with double digit goals this season. He has all the physical tools, and this is his fourth year in the program. If not now, when?
  16. Upon one viewing, I am impressed with freshman forward David Egbo. He is stout and strong. Egbo receives the ball with either foot and will shoot powerfully with either foot. He may be that rare ambidextrous footballer.
  17. CONCACAF Gold Cup Final USA vs. Jamaica. Starting (JAM) Darren Mattocks Starting (USA) Darlington Nagbe Teammates Portland Timbers Teammates Akron Zips 2010 NC Usually good friends, but not tonight.
  18. Jamaica have the best GK in CONCACAF. And they are speedy up top. I do not anticipate a cake walk at all. This will be a tight match. Jamaica are very confident right now. They are better than Costa Rica.
  19. Wow! Since when JLew have a left-footed cross? Spectacular finish by DVilla!
  20. ESPN graded players after match vs. SAL. DarNag rated 7.0, higher than anyone else for either team.
  21. There were countless Nagbe jerseys in the stadium last night.
  22. Which jersey will USMNT don vs. Nicaragua? Which colors?
  23. To Hell with those haters. Mattocks did very well just to partially control that difficult cross with his right foot. Did he intentionally set up the left-footed volley? Probably not. But he obviously adjusted extraordinarily well.
  24. Anyone catch Darren Mattock's scorching left-footed goal for Jamaica in The Gold Cup? Minutes ago. Load video please........
