  1. Tough to see any road to an At-Large bid. Certainly seems like win the MAC, or stay home. And forget about an NCAA match at home.
  2. Best remaining chance to harvest RPI points!
  3. Watch out for Louisville come December.
  4. Belana is quite good at taking corner kicks. Who knew? At this point, no one except Pau Belana should take CKs. I have been very critical of Belana, perhaps even harsh. But the boy done good tonight. He tackled, supported the ball, distributed; he did his job at a high level.
  5. You absolutely pegged that one!
  6. Domination!
  7. I expect, no, I demand a more focused and committed side vs. Buffalo. At this point, MAC contests are the most important on our schedule.
  8. I am so happy to discuss an opponent. This is actually a very big match for the Zips. One slip up in the MAC, and Akron may miss the tournament for the first time since Lolla. I would guess 2002.
  9. Will this all come out in time? I don't mind waiting, but this is something I will eventually know. Must.
  10. No. Futbol is the most common language ever spoken by mankind. Verbal discourse is not nearly as important as chemistry on the pitch. Recruiting from all corners of the world is a strength, not a weakness.

  12. All Akron Zips have the necessary technique to pass; it is a highly developed skill. That is our #1 criterion here: Must be able to deliver and recieve passes of all sorts. We recruit this above all other soccer attributes, including athleticism. Passing inaccuracy is symptomatic of several things. 1) Lack of Concentration. Zips currently seem distracted. Perhaps they are missing their talisman, VS8. Either Victor must return, or he must be dismissed. Zips need closure. 2) Lack of Execution. Zips are thinking the game rather than feeling the game. The passing flow is unnatural and truncated. Coaches need to change up practice drilling to emphasize organic ball movement. 3) Lack of Cohesion. How many different lineups have we seen this season? I endorse utilizing our deep bench, but we are subbing way more than we have during any point since Ken Lolla was coach. How many players played vs. VCU? 4) Lack of Fitness. Zips look tired. I suggest using our deep bench on a match to match basis, using only 14-15 players per match, but rotating that 14-15. In a compressed schedule, players need rest.
  13. Rubbish! Season is a bust!
  14. Zips are not (yet) in danger of missing the tournament. We. would likely get an at-large bid even if we do not win the MAC. But our seeding would be awful, pretty much meaning an early exit. Teams with NCAA seeds lower than 8 usually do not make the College Cup. Very rarely do teams below 16 advance to College Cup (if ever). We cannot afford to stumble much more.
  15. Where is Sam Gainford?
  16. Zips should be very disappointed with anything less than a victory. Up 0-2? Come on! From what I have seen Mustangs really are not very good, not to mention their record.
  17. SMU took that one on the chin, rather literally. EZ is nothing if not one tough SOB.
  18. And give one away just like that.
  19. PK won by...... Harter? AN10 converts.
  20. AN10! Great goal!
  21. Gaucho Dan usually starts by 2nd full week.
  22. Nicholas, Nico, whatever. Easy mistake to make. Two dimuniatve speedsters of apparent African descent playing the same position. Both are extremely left-footed. I give the announcer a pass on that one. But I can draw the conclusion that someone on Tulsa's right offensive wing was a handful.
  23. Has match started?
