  1. Serna's left foot is HEAVY! What a thump!
  2. Nagbe and Yedlin were both in good form vs. T&T.
  3. I will stay for women's match. They need to show me (us) something this year! Mediocrity don't fly at Akron!
  4. I heard someone refer to "Downtown Jackson". The weird thing about it is that I knew exactly where they meant: The intersection of Fulton and Wales. Route 241 / Massillon Road / Wales Avenue has changed so much, even in the last 10 years, from East Market Avenue all the way down to Lincolnway.
  5. I remember that match. I remember that day. Wow. Thanks for reminding me of that. I think Steve Frick scored.
  6. 2006? http://www.gozips.com/sports/msoc/2006-07/releases/676449_1
  7. I am not sure who is responsible for this happening, but adding SIU-E to MSOC is much better than we could have hoped for.
  8. This is a very welcome turn of events for MAC MSOC. SIU-E is a significant upgrade over Buffalo. Zips RPI just shot up! Over the past few seasons, the Cougars have been just as good as Zips, perhaps better. Such cannot be said of other MAC teams, as much as we all want WVU to regain their national prominence. Beginning in 1967, SIU-E has nearly as much American soccer tradition as does Akron. Read. They won the College Cup in 1979, which gives them one star, just as many as some other squad I follow closely. Look at the list of All-American players. Coach Bob Guelker: 216-67-21 .745 - Good enough for Soccer HOF. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SIU_Edwardsville_Cougars_men's_soccer http://www.siuecougars.com/sports/m-soccer/index Buffalo is 215 miles away. Edwardsville is 540 miles away. Hartwick was 445 miles away. NIU is 430 miles away.
  9. So we have two years before losing MAC automatic bid? No problem.
  10. I hope you are correct. That would be having the cake and eating it too. For two years.
  11. BG and WVA are not trying to fill one slot at their hosted tournament. Expect a pretty good side to round out that field.
  12. Is there really going to be a MAC Tournament?
  13. Kirk Harwat was stellar at both North Royalton and at Akron. He presumably was dominant at Ashland as well, though I never saw him play while there. Very good player. But Ali Kazemaini is one of the best collegiate players I have ever seen. Two time All-American? He was absolutely spectacular for both Cleveland State and for the Cleveland Force. He was 1985 MISL Rookie Of The Year.
  14. I believe Robbie Dambrot and Bryce Cregan will both suit up for Pittsburgh in the Fall. Watch out for this program under Jay Vidovich, not necessarily because of the aforementioned two. Pitt soccer will be really good very soon.
  15. This opportunity could not come to a better guy.
  16. @Crew8 Remember when we met Chris Korb (and date) at the Barley House, watching the 2011 NCAA Tournament on internet stream? What a nice guy. That seems a long time ago, both for us, and for Chris Korb. Nowadays, I do not hear much of watch parties for Zips matches.
  17. Both Utah Valleyl and Denver will be very stern tests for Zips.
  18. I think having no automatic bid is leverage enough to join a different conference for soccer.
  19. I would love to see Kentucky (re) join the MAC for ⚽️. And what exactly was so bad about Hartwick? I forget.
  20. I am willing to bet that somewhere on social media there is a photo of Najem and Laryea post match. Those two are tight.
  21. And while you are at it, get Nagbe's brilliant "hockey" assist on Mattocks' goal. Please.
