Zips still have never won in Bloomington
-
Very rarely does a non seeded team advance to Thanksgiving.
-
IU scores. Zips sleepwalking.
-
Could have been several scores this first half, a few for each side. Zips will have the wind in the second half. JLew needs more touches.

Time for that to change!

7 Biggest Flaws of College Soccer
fknbuflobo replied to Zip_ME87's topic in Akron Zips NCAA Championship Soccer
Agree that substituting rules must be changed to comply with FIFA rules. For the reasons you list and more. This is first and foremost to improve NCAA Soccer. In comparison, existence of a game clock is minor, very minor. Hilltopper, the more NCAA falls in line with FIFA, the greater relevance college soccer will enjoy. -

Disagree. There is a difference. Counting down means time is controlled by game clock. Counting up allows for extra time at the Referee's discretion. It is NOT the same 45 minutes. -
The 2016 Bracket Challenge

Good calls both. Your second example went to OT. Mikey Nanchoff settled things with a free kick score. Oddly enough, sat next to George for that one too. -
Mine too. He was born to the job.

The 2016 Bracket Challenge

We beat the Evil IU Empire in Akron in 2013 NCAA Tournament. Freshman Adam Najem with the perfectly weighted through ball assist to Reneildo Brenes for the first score. And I sat next to George Nanchoff. Memories. -
The 2016 Bracket Challenge

If you view the bracket I entered, you will see that I note the grief Zips have endured at the hands of the Hoosiers. -
http://forums.bigsoccer.com/threads/the-2016-bracket-challenge.2036878/ Just about every entry has Akron beating Villanova tomorrow.

NCAA Bound - Congratulations

You have hit that nail squarely on the head, I believe. -
No one will be there for a 4 pm start. Larry Williams! Thanks. Anything else you want to do to sabatage this season?

I will be apoplectic should AD even attempt to move up start of soccer match. There are not many avid followers for either program. Has MSOC drawn 2500 this year? Far fewer, by a long shot, would be "crossover" fans wanting to attend both the NCAA Tournament match and the home opener. These folks likely number in the dozens, if that. I cannot imagine any basketball season ticket holder ditching their duckets for the soccer match. Fear not, skip zip; that will not happen. -

Maximize attendance? Whose attendance? Season ticket holders, most of whom are employed, cannot attend a 16:00 start. Their financial support must be rewarded with an NCAA Tournament match they can attend. Otherwise, that financial support will erode. There are crossover fans. God knows I love ?! It is my second favorite sport. But who are the people who are free for 6 straight hours on Thursday? Not many at all is my guess. Fans will need to make a simple choice come Thursday. I will take the tournament match, regardless of the sport. There is not a problem here. -

No. Kick-off will likely be 19:00. Folks can attend which ever contest they choose. Actual attendance is secondary to servicing season ticket holders who keep the respective programs well healed. -
Zips defend MAC Tournament championship versus (once again) Buffalo. 13:00 kickoff. Be there!

Blizzard Blast from The Past.

This GK did not play last week due to suspension. Soft attempts will not score on this guy.
