Send a letter to the Akron Summit Assault. Keep soccer in Akron! I believe with the proper marketing the club could be successful. I don't believe 5% of Akron Zips Soccer followers were even aware of the PDL club. I understand it might not be seen as a valuable asset to the club. With some more backing from the community, sponsors, businesses it could be successful and a fantastic competitive advantage. Some of our Akron Zips can stay close to home, play with the club, and be involved with the soccer community as they did last season(Dagilis, Quinn, Balogun, Schmitt, & Caldwell). I would hate to see the club only be given a one-year chance to succeed. If the team leaves now, another might not be back in the near future.

I was watching when Stanford scored their first 2 goals. That Kennesaw State University Stadium is gorgeous. I wish they'd hold the Men's College Cup there; however, I haven't checked the seating capacity. But, it looks sizable on television. Also, cool that Ohio Wesleyan is playing for the D III Championship. Thanks for pointing that out. Porter is not going anywhere. This would be the worst time with Olympic Qualifying coming up. He has no time to go into a new program. I don't think he will ever leave for another college program. But when he does, it will be for a professional club, not college soccer.

A-League is not all that bad. Still entertaining, and even an American is playing for Wellington. Brisbane Roar just broke the record to claim longest unbeaten streak of 36 consecutive games in all professional sports in Australia. I need to get my soccer fix somewhere.

I wish all the success to Akron's other sports programs, but the fact is I don't follow other sports like I do soccer. Its soccer 24/7 for me. I never visit another board on zipsnation.org, my bookmark is connected directly to here. I'm having withdraw right now with no MLS or Akron Zips to follow during the evenings. The weekend, its morning to afternoon filled with Serie A, EPL, A-League, etc. I don't have time to watch college football or NFL. Doesn't mean I don't support Akron's other sports programs, but soccer is my addiction. Its my way of life.

I'm not sure, but I received an anonymous email today asking for info on Akron Summit Assault. I'm pretty sure Akron Rowdy/savetheforce and the email I received are all the same person. Someone is trying to find out info. He/She is the only one to hear a rumor supposedly. Claimed to be starting a website on Akron/Canton area soccer too. I have yet to get a response where its located.

I'd agree, I think the only underclassman to leave will be Mattocks, only because he'll receive a Generation Adidas contract. Holmes, Balogun, and Dagilis are gone(Seniors). Barson, Meves, Caldwell will all be back, not ready for the next level. Trapp has the most talent out of all the Zips players, but probably a bit to young, but you never know, maybe the Crew will sign him, they could use some help in the midfield.

The final third or even the middle third had no connections. We just couldn't crack Charlottes back line. (Reminded myself of watching Celtic FC backline in Champions League, no shots on goal, just defense. Kit similarity helped too) Darren was non-existent or the entire attack. We were shut down. Although we have a new foundation for next season. can't wait.
