Here is an email that was just sent on campus:In a special meeting this morning, the University's Board of Trustees approved two recommendations—the appointment of John J. Reilly as associate general counsel and the appointment of a construction manager for the design development stage of a proposed multi-use facility that would include a football stadium. Reilly, an attorney for Case Western Reserve University, had been associate legal counsel at Ohio State University. He will join UA's Office of General Counsel in mid-March. He replaces Christine Williams, who resigned last fall to join her husband in Germany after he had finished a tour in Iraq. Reilly’s hiring was approved by Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann. Through a request-for-qualifications process, the partnership of Welty Building Co. and Hunt Construction Group was selected as construction manager for the design development phase of a proposed multi-use facility that would include a football stadium. The appointment does not mean a final decision has been made to proceed with the project. Instead, it is a step required to obtain an accurate estimate of building costs for such a facility. Both firms now will work with architects to create a design plan and determine estimates, which are expected in several months. The Board will meet next at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 21 on the third floor of the Student Union.

I just found out Porky Dudich passed away yesterday. Many know him as the person who ran Porky's Place in the JAR. He would have turned 88 this month. To me he was and still is Mr. University of Akron.The new battle cry for the basketball team: Win it for Porky.

Here is the email sent on campus about the game: Men's game tonight versus Ohio still to be played The men's basketball game between The University of Akron and Ohio University is still scheduled to be played Tuesday night, with tip-off set for 7 p.m. at James A. Rhodes Arena. The contest will remain as scheduled for a number of factors. First, Ohio University's basketball team arrived safely in Akron Monday night. Second, the Mid-American Conference office assigned officials in the Akron area to the game, and the group will not have travel issues. Third, it was determined that Ohio's and Akron's remaining schedules do not present an opportunity for a make-up contest. The University of Akron encourages all fans who will be attending to please allow for extra travel time and use caution when driving. For the convenience of those who will be attending, sidewalks, roads and parking lots near the arena will be cleared. Also, any fan who attends tonight's Akron-Ohio U. men's basketball game will be able to purchase a general admission ticket for Saturday's Bracket Buster game versus Austin Peay for $5 with a ticket stub from tonight's contest. Nice job but.......Bryan Williams will be playing RB. So the comment about not getting a RB is false.Also don't rip on the QB. He is a solid talent with tons of upside. Plus he was a three star.......Also Morgan Williams the RB that Toledo got is a prop48. I would not put a player who is not going to play next year and may never play on any kind of great player list.....
