  2. Last 3 college cups 2015 - Akron, Stanford, Clemson and Syracuse 2016 - Wake Forest, Denver, Stanford, N. Carolina 2017 - Akron, Stanford, N. Carolina, Indiana 3 programs only...that have been to at least 2 college cups in the last 3 years...Akron, Stanford and N. Carolina. Akron soccer is truly special....an elite program. President Matthew Wilson better be doing a video this week....since he did one for the football team that got destroyed in a conference championship game This is an NCAA title......that the zips are going for.... There was a heck of a send off party...for the football team.... there better be a send off party to raise the roof....for this group of student athletes buses galore for the football team.....there better be buses available for the AK rowdies to support the "futbol" team
  3. I love it that no conference has more than one team... one from the mighty MAC, one from the Pac 12 , one from the big ten...and one from some league that had 9 teams in the tourney

  5. Jared knows his players....Sending a freshman out to take the 5th kick...down 3-2 Joao is tremendous !!!! Was the penalty kick shootout against Cal in 2010 a 4-3 zips win? if so, great omen for next weekend.......
  6. Louisville columnist has been reading this message board http://uoflcardgame.com/louisville-soccer-needs-to-derail-akrons-12-game-winning-streak/55326/
  7. http://www.uslsoccer.com/news_article/show/862041?referrer_id=2333971 this topic is former zips in pro leagues. This is not MLS related....but Michael Nanchoff and Zac Portillos will be returning to Tampa Bay in the USL for 2018. Zac Portillos went from not playing much to being a key starting defender. Congratulations to both former zips.
  8. this is sour grapes....pure and simple.... Louisville did not lose 2 games to teams not in the tourney....Louisville did not lose to a god awful Utah Valley team Louisville played in a league with 9 teams in the tourney and they only lost 2 games all years Akron lost 2 in the first weekend...to teams not in the tourney.... Jared, you can tell your team in private...that they have won so many in a row...and are capable of winning it all....if they want it.... You can tell your team that Sam missed the first 2 games and that you messed up by starting Wiedt instead of Strachan in the first game....but they are still losses...get over it....the seeding was fair... But....for god sakes......don't say that the other team's experience is LOSING Be the ADULT in the room....and challenge the student athletes to prove the seeding committee wrong... STOP Whining, Jared !!!

  18. Info on their stadium.... their attendance has really been down this year... 833 last week... back in 2014....they were getting crowds of 5,000 to 7,000 I am sure that Larry Williams will make several buses available for fans to see the mediocre football team get pulverized by Toledo in the MAC title... mr. Marquette...better make sure...that he makes a bus available for the AK Rowdies to travel down to Lolla-Land !!! http://www.uoflsports.com/facilities/?id=10

  21. http://www.uwbadgers.com/news/2017/11/25/mens-soccer-badgers-season-ends-in-heartbreaker-to-no-5-zips.aspx very classy quotes from John Trask.....love his comments about the environment and atmosphere Straight from the Pitch: Head coach John Trask "Congratulations to the University of Akron. It was a great soccer game -- the type of match you expected in the round of 16. A lot of individual ability from both teams. The environment the game was played in was probably the best part of the contest. It was a special game. The field was beautiful; the atmosphere was incredible. I didn't expect anything less. One team had to go down today and unfortunately it was the University of Wisconsin. But I'll take that type of effort out of my guys any day of the week. I think we showed people who we are as team." "Chris is a phenomenal player. He picked up two assists today which makes 20 on the year… that is basically an assist a game. He had a great free kick that caught the underside of the crossbar. Chris is a magical senior who will go on to play at the next level. All of our seniors make up a group that will leave a lasting legacy. I feel like this time there is a new standard for people who are going to represent us. I know the alumni and administration will be proud of the effort we put forth today. Once again, congrats to Akron."
