  1. It would have been nice to have 2 future zips (Colin Biros and Sammy Tojaga) and their teams advancing to the semis However.....when they set up the quarterfinal match ups for the 8 section winner...they have sammy and real salt Lake playing Colin and Crew SC if you click on the schedule link below...you will have to move to page 2 Looks like Salt Lake and Crew is the last of the 4 games on Monday June 25 at 7:30 eastern time I am excited....for Sammy, Colin, and Carlo to join the zips in the fall (also excited about all of the other recruits !!!) 4:30 PM Pacific coast time....7:30 eastern time #5336076Real Salt Lake U-18/19SoCal Sports ComplexSoCal Sports Complex - Field 17 (Grass)map Crew SC Academy U-18/19 http://www.ussoccerda.com/sam/standings/regevent/index.php?containerId=NzcwMTMxNg==&partialGames=1#filter-table
  2. not as exciting as Sammy and Colin's gmaes but it looks like Carlo Rittacio played 90 today http://www.ussoccerda.com/sam/standings/ss/view_game_report.php?eventId=5302326&teamId=7702537
  3. https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/club-soccer-articles/boys-dev-acad-playoffs-standouts:-day-3_aid44260 here is what they said about young Mr. Biros Colin Biros, Crew SC Academy - Biros scored two goals in the first half in the win over Kendall SC. Crew rolled to a 6-2 win over Kendall in a game full of fireworks. The talented midfielder was firmly involved in the attacking third throughout the first half.
  4. Zip_ME87, thanks for all of the great reports Carlo and Colin both picked as outstanding performers on day 3...the writeup on Carlo is incredible https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/club-soccer-articles/boys-dev-acad-playoffs-standouts:-day-3_aid44260 Carlo Ritaccio, BW Gottschee Academy - The score would have been much worse without Ritaccio on the field for BW Gottschee. He had a spell of a few minutes where he cut off a pass with a great sliding block then played a beautiful outlet pass to the center forward. BW Gottschee lost possession of the ball a minute later and Ritaccio had to pull off a similar manuever to prevent another RSL attack. It was a glimpse into how meaningful he is to his current team and his potential at Akron. Ritaccio is one of those players who could be an immediate impact player in college. He could be the center back for Akron that starts the attack and breaks down teams that try to bunker. He has the skill on the ball and the vision to bring something to the squad to make Akron a title contender.
  5. Looking forward to watching this 3 young men in the fall.
  6. Thanks for sharing this news. Happy for Chad but I also know that he will help make tOSU a better team.
  7. http://www.espn.com/soccer/blog/the-match/60/post/3520038/usa-shows-progress-vs-france-has-hope-after-world-cup-woe "It's wonderful," midfielder Wil Trapp said. "It's not always going to be pretty. We understood that. Look, it's one of the best teams in the world, favorites for the World Cup, and I thought we adjusted really well. We scored the goal first, shocked them a little bit, and then weathered the storm." "I think it's a huge step for us as professionals, and as a group, not listening to outside noise," Trapp said. "And believing in ourselves and believing in each other in adverse situations, that's a huge experience for young players, and of melding together and continuing to grow."
  8. https://www.uslsoccer.com/news_article/show/923564?referrer_id=2364194 Numerous young talents, such as Santi Moar and Adam Najem, showed well throughout the match, and if they can continue to combine and create, Bethlehem should be able to secure more and more points away from home this campaign.

  15. this is the very inaccurate paragraph that I am talking about:(they play at Bowling Green on October 6) Akron opens up defense of its 2017 MAC Tournament crown on Oct. 6 at Western Michigan. The Zips edged the Falcons, 2-1, in overtime on Oct. 21, 2017 at FirstEnergy Stadium – Cub Cadet Field.
  16. Do not rely on the press release for the answer to your question. the press release says: The University of Akron men's soccer team unveiled a challenging 2018 slate, one that will see the Zips face six opponents from the 2017 NCAA Tournament field sixth-year head coach Jared Embick announced today. we know that Western Michigan made the tournament...so the press release would indicate that only 5 of the 12 conference teams made last year's NCAA tourney the correct answer is that there are 8 teams on the zips schedule that made the 2017 NCAA tourney (7 non - conf and WMU) Butler -yes NC State - yes Pitt NO Seattle - yes Washington - yes Connecticut NO Grand Canyon NO VCU - yes Syracuse NO Mich. State- yes Creighton NO Notre Dame - yes I would expect both Creighton and Syracuse to be back in the NCAA this year...and Pitt has a highly rated recruiting class also.....if you look at the press release...check out the paragraph on opening up MAC play against the Falcons...really poor press release by the soccer SID
