Zips coaching staff deserves a lot of credit. They made some very good in game adjustments. Bringing in Ashton Kamdem to play right back...and moving Malik Henry up the field....was a great in game adjustment. Gyuwon Chong did not start the game but he started the 2nd half. He had a big impact on the game Seth Wilson made an outstanding save with 15 minutes to go in the first half. Malik Henry pass to Dyson Clapier....was very special.... Malik Henry was a key guy to help break the tremendous Vermont pressure in the first half. Zips could not break the pressure on the left side.....but Malik Henry speed and skill opened up the right side for the zips. Zips do have to get better on the left defense back side offensively. Dyson is having to come too far up the field to get the ball. Tremendous credit to Dyson Clapier for being a team player late in the game and coming back to help Will Jackson defend on the left side. Vermont is an outstanding team. They brought great pressure and were good with their passes. Malik Henry is my Man of the Match........but again, I really have to credit the coaching staff for making major changes to the lineup at halftime. With the horrible FloFC camera angles, I could not tell you who was playing where in the midfield for the Zips. I think that Joey Paulus moved at halftime to replace Captain Sammy Tojaga as Holding midfielder. Joey Paulus....has improved tremendously as a ZIP. Excellent team win.

FLO FC stinks..... they are doing the starting lineups now with sound only live stats show that the game is 3 minutes and 24 seconds into the game picture finally came in at 2:52..according to live stats still showing lineups and and game is now at 4:35

Vermont is up to #7....in this week's top drawer soccer top 25 Zips at #21 Stanford was so impressive in the first week.... in the coaches's pre season poll. I don't have any easy answers .....on how to improve attendance at Men's soccer games.... Here are some numbers....that might prompt discussion. Does anyone have any good suggestions? Obviously, having a fantastic , unbeatable team is the best way to get butts in the stands. Before I present the numbers, I want to point out that the 2018 team was #2 in pre season rankings. I also have listed the day of the week when games were played as I thought that high school football might have an impact on attendance. Akron looked really good tonight against Niagara Akron must have had a real off night last saturday at Oakland Oakland opened their season tonight at highly rated Marshall Oakland was absolutely mauled tonight by Marshall Marshall won 4-0 Marshall led 12-0 in shots on goal and Marshall led 29-5 in total shots

The newcomer that I was most impressed by....was Alejandro "Nano" Varela. He appears to be an outstanding ball winner....and does very well with the ball at his feet. Nano looks like a great addition to the zips midfield.

Oakland men's soccer main schedule page shows the final score as Oakland 3-1 score must have been 3-1 after 90 minutes of normal regulation time. Akron 2nd goal must have come in extra 30 minutes of play when 2nd and 3rd stringers took the field. Very disappointing result from the Zips. Oakland scored no goals when they played a very poor Chicago State team. Oakland scored 3 goals in 90 minutes of regulation against the zips.
