Penn State win would help the zips and hurt Creighton. Creighton's signature non league win is over Indiana. Penn State winning the tourney...would mean that both the zips and West Virginia would have wins over ACC regular season champ Pitt and wins over regular season and tournament Big Ten champ Penn State. That would be great for MAC teams.

League champs.....and automatic qualifiers and today's finals 8 teams known as of this morning 15 finals today PAC 12 league winner - #2 Oregon State Ivy League - #58 Princeton West Coast Conference - #55 Santa Clara League winners Atlantic Sun - #39 Lipscomb defeated #42 Central Arkansas Big West - #86 Cal Santa Barbara def. #128 Cal Irvine Horizon - #85 Oakland def. #109 Cleveland State Patriot - #81 Loyola Maryland def. #110 American Summit - #78 Denver won a shoot out against #76 Oral Roberts ACC final - 4) Duke vs. #11 Notre Dame Atlantic 10 final - #17 St. Louis vs. #84 Duquesne Conference USA final - #9 Kentucky vs. #82 Florida Atlantic Missouri Valley final - #14 Missouri State vs. #143 Evansville WAC final - #13 Grand Canyon vs. #36 Seattle American Athletic final - #6 Tulsa vs.#60 UCF Big East final - #3 Georgetown vs. #15 Providence Big Ten Final - #12 Indiana vs. #25 Penn State MAC final - #27 Northern Illinois vs. #34 Georgia State Colonial final - #10 Hofstra vs. #44 Elon Metro Atlantic final - #61 Marist vs. #121 Rider American East - #8 New Hampshire vs. #50 Vermont Big South - #51 Campbell vs. #124 High Point Southern conference final - #54 Belmont vs. #112 Mercer Northeast Conference final - #92 LIU vs. #118 St. Francis Brooklyn I bold highlighted 7 leagues where an upset could vault a team into the tournament ....and reduce the number of at large teams below the zips I believe that the MAC final.....will be at 1 pm eastern time. Every one will have different opinions. I am strongly rooting for NIU to win the final. IF GSU wins, I think that NIU will still get an at large bid....as they were regular season champs....and would have lost in the conference tournament finals. As of this morning, West Virginia is 19 in RPI and Akron is 26. If GSU wins and if NIU gets an at large bid, the MAC would need to have 4 teams in the tourney for both Akron and West Virginia to get in. If GSU loses, I do not think that they will get in the tourney. We have all seen in past years...how the committee loves the power 5 conferences I am fully confident that the committee will give 7 at large bids to the ACC and 4 at large bids to the Big East ACC - 1. Duke/Notre Dame loser other 6 -5) Pitt ; 7) Clemson ; 20) N. Carolina ; 22) VA Tech ; 31) Louisville ; 32) Wake Forest Big East - Georgetown/Providence loser other 3 -23) Creighton ; #28 ) Villanova ; #29 St. Johns committee last year screwed west virginia and took Charlotte from Conference USA hopefully, Kentucky can beat the upset kid...Florida Atlantic if they do, I still think that the committee will give 3 at large bids to conference USA 16) Marshall ; #18) FIU ; #33) Charlotte if the committee....shows their usual love for ACC, Big East and conference USA...that accounts for 14 of the 25 at large bids (assumes Kentucky wins) that leaves 11 bids contenders for those 11 bids PAC 12 - #2 Washington ; #24 UCLA Big Ten - Penn State/Indiana loser and #21 Maryland ...will the power 5 loving committee show any love to #38 Michigan MAC - GSU/NIU loser ; #19 WVA ; #26 Akron west coast conference - #30 Portland ; #35 Loyola Marymount if we exclude Michigan and worst case....there are 7 upsets....there are 9 good teams competing for 4 at large spots I feel good about zips chances....if there are no upsets...if there are 4 or 5 or 6 upsets, I just do not trust the NCAA committee other teams ...that do not deserve bid....but a few years ago...the committee gave #44 NC State a bid...and screwed several teams in low 30's #40 Rhode Island #41 Northeastern #42 Central Arkansas #43 Cornell #45 VCU #46 Stanford

I had not looked at conference RPI rankings recently....MAC is pretty strong of course, they were super strong last year....and the NCAA screwed West Virginia last year and gave Charlotte an at large bid (even though West Virginia had defeated conference USA champ Marshall...and WVU had also defeated Charlotte 3-0 in regular season RankNCAA Division I Men's SoccerRPI 1Pac-12 Conference.5855 2Atlantic Coast Conference.5791 3Big East Conference.5594 4Mid-American Conference.5501 5Big Ten Conference.5455 6American Athletic Conference.5296 7Conference USA.5295 8Colonial Athletic Association.5252 9America East Conference.5003 10West Coast Conference.4985 11Atlantic 10 Conference.4953 12Ivy League.4944

very few games today...involving zips opponents...or teams in the top 40 of RPI 1 pm....horizon league final - #107 Cleveland State vs. #92 Oakland 4 pm...last regular season Ivy league game for zip opponent Yale ....Ivy League automatic qualifier Princeton (6-0-0 in league) vs. Yale 4-0-2 in league) 4 pm....Princeton has automatic Ivy league bid...Cornell is 4-2-0 in league as they have lost to Princeton and Yale...somehow...Cornell is in the mix for an at large bid as they are #29 in country....they play #181 Columbia today...Columbia is 1-10-4 overall and 0-4-2 in league... Cornell strength of schedule will be hurt today 7:05 Atlantic Sun final...#53 Lipscomb 11-3-2 vs. #36 Central Arkansas 11-5-0 10 pm....west coast conference has no tourney....#50 Santa Clara has already earned automatic bid...with 5-0-1 conference record....they play #38 Loyola Marymount 12-4-1...4-2-0 in league....Loyola Marymount could move up a bit with a win 10 pm....Portland is also in west coast conference....they have highest RPI in league at #30 despite being 3-2-1 in league..they are 9-6-1 overall...they did beat UCLA early in the season and they crushed Northern Illinois 4-0 last week...Portland plays #182 San Francisco...San Fran is 2-12-1 overall and 0-5-1 in league.... as of right now....Akron is still #23 in RPI...numbers 23 to 26...are very close 21. Maryland .5853 22. VA Tech .5846 23. Akron .5807 24. Penn State .5807 25. Creighton .5806 26. UCLA .5799 27. Villanova .5767 28. Northern Illinois .5757 29. Cornell .5736 30. Portland .5733 31. St. Johns .5704 32. GA State .5673 you will remember that Northern Illinois was 39 at the start of the week and GA State was in the low 50's. They have both gone up a lot due to semifinal win.

Marshall led FAU 15-6 in shots and 10-2 in corners FAU won the scoreboard battle 3-1 FAU will play Kentucky for conference USA title and spot in NCAA tourney on Sunday FAU was 2-4-2 in regular season conference play in the regular season, FAU lost 5-1 to Charlotte FAU beat Charlotte on PKs in conference quarterfinals FAU lost 3-0 to Marshall in regular season FAU took care of Marshall in semi in regular season, FAU lost 3-0 to Kentucky

Kentucky is showing as 11 currently in RPI Florida International is currently 17 FIU was top seed in conference usa as they beat Marshall 4-1 last weekend... Kentucky just beat FIU 3-0 in semi Kentucky will play Marshall vs. Florida Atlantic winner in night time semi If Marshall wins the semi, KY and Marshall for both locks for the NCAA I don't think that anyone posted that #1 and #2...washington and oregon state played to 2-2 draw last night

Duquesne was #107..before today's Atlantic 10 semi against #32 Rhode Island Duquesne just won 2-1 Gaucho Dan shows Rhode Island dropping to #39 St. Louis will play Duquesne in A10 final on Sunday as long as St. Louis wins, the Atlantic 10 should be a 1 bid league I do not see Rhode Island getting an at large bid.... I can't explain it.....but Akron has moved up from #25 late yesterday to #23....at 6:40 pm in Gaucho Dan current rpi creighton is now 24 and penn state is now 25 SBZIP fan...just saw your post......yep.....I wanted Rhode Island to lose and drop

what will NCAA committee do ....on at large bids? NCAA committee has proved in the past ...that they worship the ACC Will they give the ACC 7 out of the 25 at large bids? Duke -4 or 10 - Notre Dame wins league loser gets at large big other high ranking ACC teams Pitt 5 Clemson 6 North Carolina 20 VA tech 21 Wake Forest 34 Louisville 36 Will NCAA commitee give 7 at large spots to their beloved ACC or will the MAC get 2 at large bids (WVA and Akron)? Akron and WVA both have regular season wins over ACC regular season winner....Pitt Tulsa now leads SMU 2-0 at 83 minutes....go, golden hurricanes !!!!

some results that could affect RPI and zips chances Providence moved up to 16 in RPI with 2-0 win over #40 Butler Butler ends at 7-9-3 and is not eligible for NCAA Providence faces #3 Georgetown in big east final Cleveland State advanced to horizon league final with 2-1 win over milwaukee they face Oakland in final...one bid league #9 Hofstra survived ...2-1 win over #90 Drexel in semis in a big result...#33 Stanford...went to Berkeley today and played Cal...1-6-0 in PAC 12 1-1 tie Stanford finishes the regular season 6-6-6 and drops to #42 I clearly do not think that Stanford deserves an at large bid..... but will the NCAA committee choose 3 at large teams from the PAC 12 (either 1 Oregon State or 2 Washington) ; #27 UCLA and #42 Stanford or will they take 2 at large teams from the MAC (West Virginia and Akron) UCLA 9-6-1 has one game left...at #53 San Diego State SD State is 8-6-2 and 2-6 in the PAC 12 #8 Tulsa leads #47 SMU 1-0 at 79 minutes in AAC semis winner plays #57 UCF in final one bid league if Tulsa can hold on to beat SMU and then beat UCF

today is a big day....for conference tournament action Geoergetown has started the day by reclaiming 3rd in RPI with a 1-0 win over Villanova in a Big East Semi Villanova ends the year with an 11-7-1 record...and despite the loss...they stay at 26 in RPI In my long writeup above, I was wrong about Butler having ended its year in the 2nd big east semi at 1:30.....#38 Butler (7-8-3) faces #19 Providence 9-3-4 if Butler were to somehow beat both Providence and Georgetown, they would reduce the number of available at large spots...as Georgetown and Providence will both still get in 4 pm matches Cleveland State #114 vs. Milwaukee in Horizon league semi....we always want Akron opponents to win 16 West Virginia vs. 57 Georgia State I still think that Akron should want West Virginia to win the league. If Georgia State or Bowling Green win the league, I think that Akron's at large status could be very risky. another 4 pm match...this one regular season #32 Stanford 6-6-5....2-4-3 in Pac-12 vs. 82 California 3-9-2 ...1-6-0 a loss would drop Stanford below .500 and make them ineligible for NCAA despite having a very mediocre year, I think that the power 5 loving NCAA committee will take Stanford with a 7-6-5 record 4:30....Colonial athletic semi #10 Hofstra vs. #91 Drexel......let's go Hofstra 7 pm.....#37 Northern Illinois vs. #43 Bowling Green...win that one, NIU 7:30 pm....2nd Colonial athletic semi...#58 Elon vs. #33 Northeastern 9 pm ...regular season matchup to determine NCAA top seed...washington vs. Oregon state #8 Tulsa vs. #45 SMU (8-4-3) in an american athletic semi...was supposed to be played last night bad weather caused the game to be moved to 4:30 today winner plays #56 UCF in final...UCF defeated Memphis 6-0 yesterday in semi Akron fans should root for Tulsa to win the conference so the AAC only gets one team in tourney
-
In a result...that hurts a bubble team...Charlotte had a bad loss last night Charlotte from conference USA...was 31 in RPI at the beginning of the week Charlotte lost on PK's last night in conference USA quarters to Florida Atlantic Florida Atlantic is a lowly 102 in RPI after the win Charlotte dropped to 35 in RPI after the loss

the IU goal keeper Roman Celentano should make sports center top 10 He saved the game for Indiana

After the Indiana and Penn State results were posted..... spots 21 to 25 in RPI looked like this 21. VA Tech .5860 22. Maryland .5858 23. Creighton .5847 24. Akron .5844 25. Penn State .5841 after gaucho Dan posted Kentucky's 3-1 win over Coastal Carolina and Notre Dame's win over Pitt, spots 21-25 in RPI looked like this 21. Maryland .5857 22. Creighton .5848 23. Va Tech .5840 24. Akron .5830 25. Penn State .5829

Unfortunately, Notre Dame just scored twice within 14 seconds and they lead Pitt 2-0 at 79 minutes Pitt has had the majority of possession. At one point, Pitt lead 14 to 1 in corner kicks
