  1. The Soccer team's facebook page unveiled the two sides of the new scarves yesterday and today. Needless to say: Most people are mad. Here's the thread on facebook. And here are some ridiculous thoughts from Don Ake of ASN.
  2. Pretty sure that outsiders can pay to get in. I'm not sure if you have to have a current student or alum to get you in, but i know in the past that non-UA people could get in for a price. And Pat, the "religious ads" you are seeing are targeted ads, that come up based on what your internet history is. So your posting about such things is in fact bringing them up more.
  3. I'm sorry pat, but you've gone off the deep end. I agree that the event sucks. But i'm not quite ready to believe that the Knights Templar are secretly propagandizing UA (NOT "Akron U") students into Christianity and discriminating against muslims and Jews.
  4. Owl City is basically one dude who put together a surprise hit that got popular on the internet, and he's been riding that wave ever since. By the way, as ZachtheZip said, i'd love to have an event at least on par with the first Spring Fest. Red Wanting Blue may not be a hugely popular act, but at least they are appealing to everyone and are a college-type band.
  5. We've thrown down more money than you think on some of these acts the last few years. I know for a fact that we could have gotten Jack's Mannequin, Gin Blossoms, or the Black Keys for the price of Swayze a few years ago. Very weak.
  6. Not sure if enough facts are out to even vote on such a thing.
  7. Let me clear this up for everyone (by the way, the following is based on facts reported and facts gathered by talking to several people present at each 'incident'): --Diggs wasn't charged...period. --He did NOT hit her...period. --BOTH incidents were not reported until at least a day later, at the urging of others who were not present for either of them. --We wouldn't even be talking about this if it weren't for a few people blowing it out of proportion. Also, let me say that it is absolutely ludicrous to insinuate that this was the sort of thing that would have come down to real physical abuse if not for the U stepping in. There are no facts to support that, and no person who knows either of the two would agree with such a prediction. I also don't know if it's fair to say that Q was "screwed over" because he was a guy. Don't get me wrong, that's the culture we live in these days, but nothing points to that here...at all. I think this whole thing has been speculated on enough, and people have jumped to conclusions far too much after facts have already been laid out. I for one am rooting for Q to make it back, if not only to finish his degree and achieve something important for himself. If he also gets back on the court in a Zips uniform? That's icing on the cake. (by the way, from what it sounds like, him coming back is looking more and more like a certainty)
  8. The thing about crooks like Plusquellic is they don't die so easy. I'm not so sure he's done yet.
  9. edit: Didn't realize they already lost! Too bad.
  10. I'm more worried about where I'll be getting a drink in between/after classes now that Wing Warehouse is gone. There probably isn't another college baseball stadium in the country where you can drink a beer, eat wings, and watch a game...for cheap.
  11. If Diggs gets back onto the court in a Zips uniform, he deserves a standing ovation for fighting through the BS he has had to go through in the past year. I liked Q before the "incidents" that went down last summer, but after learning more about the situation and how much he was royally screwed, I have a lot of respect for him. Don't get me wrong, he wasn't by any means some poor innocent person, but he didn't deserve how it went down. And the fact that he's been doing the right things since is very admirable.
  12. Attendance has been up the past few years with the moving of many games to Canal Park. I know i'll be at just about every game. GO ZIPS
  13. What, that she forgot to insinuate that the entire Zips team does drugs regularly?
  14. Normally i would say that we should chill out and not get so worked up over losing a game...but i've NEVER seen such unsportsmanlike play from a basketball team. It was so uncalled for that i'm still shocked it was Shaka perpetrating it. If that would have been a baseball game, someone would have caught some chin music and/or a fastball to the middle of the back. Unacceptable...and every bad thing said about VCU is well-deserved.
  15. Maybe the U should start supporting its players and not abandoning them (Q) if they want to take that next step. Money is one thing, but having those in the university that don't support athletics is another.
  16. Good to see those unsportsmanlike a-holes get stomped out. I don't care about VCU winning making the Zips look better. The Zips should have done that on their own.
  17. Melo's biggest issue is making mental mistakes. He has the ability/talent to be a great point guard. Let's just hope he grows up fast.
  18. Are you saying that you aren't going to be getting rowdy after the Zips win?
