That would be too smart of a move for a group like UA athletics. I think some athletic departments forget who signs the NCAA's checks. No one is harmed and no quality of play is lessened by a twitter handle on a jersey. DO IT ANYWAY.

Why would you want to play good teams when you play your home games in a high school gym?

Sorry to pick on you Zach, but you might be the 10th person i've seen/talked to today that's said "tomorrow" (as in Tuesday) for the game. I was starting to think I was going crazy, but the game is indeed WEDNESDAY.

We definitely have room as we have at least two cars going now. We're organizing it on the wall of this group on facebook. RSVP there. Anyone else who's interested in joining our carpool/group, we are leaving at 4pm from Lot Nine. Feel free to post in the group or on here with your intentions so we can better gauge the seating situation.

I think it has to do with the color scheme of ZN.o...I hear it's "incredible" to look at when high. But seriously, OU may play 10 guys at 10 min+ each, but that doesn't mean depth. It could mean that their coach isn't too smart and plays too many weak players too many minutes, that they've had injuries/huge cold streaks to some of their players and needed to have others fill in roles, or many other reasons. Point is, I've watched three Ohio games in entirety this season, and no sober person would claim that they are deeper or equally deep as Akron. Oh and btw, that Sweet 16 run isn't the end-all to all arguments.

Exactly, play this game like any other....BUT EXPECT TO WIN. If we play even mediocre and they don't have a UB-like explosion offensively, we'll have 20+ minutes of garbage time in this one. Gotta love their attitude towards this one though haha

Not to feed the stoner (troll) but Ohio does not have that much depth. It's definitely not in the same ball park as Akron, that's for sure.

Didn't see this posted yet... Talked to some current/former players & staff from the basketball team and did a little piece on the disappearance of gold from UA's basketball jersey's.

I can't figure out if it's for sure or not either. If the NCAA says no though, i'd do it anyway. Pay the fine and give ESPN the scoop on the NCAA picking on us over something trivial. The fine would be well worth the publicity.

you're high out of your mind....those no-calls in the second half were well deserved after the screw-job that went on for the rest of the game. That tech on Zeke should go down as one of the most asinine calls in sports history. Those guys should never work a game again.

So we struggle to keep students engaged and coming back to the JAR, so our plan to fix that is to make it even harder for them to get in? I wonder how many will have no clue about this ticket distribution mess and show up at the JAR only to find no way to get in. I'm sure that'll win 'em over. Oh yeah, UA's excuse is to gauge how many tickets they'll be able to sell to the public. Why not just set aside 1,000 tickets, then after selling the rest to fill capacity, LET MORE FREAKING STUDENTS IN. That place held 7,000 in the 80's, it can hold near that now. I'm sure the GA public wouldn't like people crawling all over eachother, packed in, but the students wouldn't care and it would create an insane atmosphere. Now that we have that "Section 8" student section, there's no reason to not pack it til people are spilling into the aisles. Now maybe i'm getting ahead of myself, and there is no way that over 1,000 students will be there, but if for some reason they keep showing up trying to get in, LET THEM IN!

lol i noticed the hand long ago in that picture but forgot about it til i posted it....very odd indeed. The jersey isn't two different colors however, he's just sweating A LOT.

not to get too off topic.... These were great jerseys, I don't see why we can't use our current design (which is so similar to these anyway) and just have a gold version? Cloning Darryl Peterson would be acceptable as well.

I want legit gold jerseys with reflective 24 karat gold flakes in them. Make it happen UA!

Thanks to ZachTheZip for the tip... Zips Land WV RB This kid seems to be a heck of a find, and someone that may have slipped through the cracks. Good speed, not too small, doesn't play for a small school, and seems like a smart/good kid.

The Akron hockey team has a singer every game...and they are a club sport. If they can do it, so can the basketball program. Btw, they shame the basketball program pregame player announcements and rituals. It's actually pretty incredible how awesome their pregame is.

Fair enough...well at least the team should bring back the gold jerseys. That grey nonsense is about as awful as it can get.

It's disrespectful to sing over someone who's singing the national anthem, that's why many didn't Saturday. When it's being played with no lyrics, that's different. To be honest, I find the whole thing a little odd. I don't find it that disrespectful, but rather in bad taste. It's our country's national anthem, something that represents the beliefs of thousands who died to protect what we stand for. I don't know if it's something we should take lightly by throwing our own little twist on it.

Oh wow, finally someone who agrees with me that the gold shirts were the best. And it's not just the rowdies who have gone away from the gold, but the University as a whole. The team doesn't wear them and the school barely sells anything branded on the color. Screw that "jinx" talk and bring that stuff back.

We can all argue about what or who's to blame...but I still think #ParkerDidIt
