  1. 4 wins in two seasons means Ianello will have to win 4 games next year....yeah right.
  2. Hmmm.. Only difference is their stands are packed, your's were empty today as I watched online. You brought that one on, not me lol! The only thing that stadium brings to mind is small time...kind of like YSU.
  3. Thanks bigzip. I actually appreciate not being given the link, i would get hooked and wouldnt be able to tear myself away from the gametracker.
  4. It had a really low angle of trajectory. And two of their d linemen were 3 yards into the backfield.
  5. No, he's saying he wants a new kicker. Did you miss that when you clicked the Topic label that read "Wanted: New kicker"? I wasnt talking to the topic starter. And how the heck do you suppose we get a new kicker? All im saying is it's not as easy as you think, especially when your line is letting 1/2 of the defense right through untouched.
  6. on another note, did anyone else notice how BAD the officiating was today? I have video of a good amount of the game and some of the plays they reviewed and got wrong are unbelievable. Not to mention some of spots and other calls. Just terrible.
  7. So you're saying you want Bronko kicking instead? The guy that cant even keep kickoffs in bounds?
  8. Career Numbers: XPA: 77 XPM: 73 FGA: 50 FGM: 34 Ouch. that's not too bad actually.
  9. amen, fire him. What an idiot. btw, highlights to come for you out of towners...
  10. Yeah some of this stuff on there is simple stuff that they get wrong but i will vouch that it had the GW ad since yesterday morning.
  11. Actually you can go over 10 minutes nowadays but you have to apply for an account to do so. It's not very hard to do and i'm sure Akron would apply.
  12. We were cool until you ripped on the greatest tailgating area in the entire sporting world. I'd take the Rubber Bowl tailgating ANY day over the set up on campus. The stadium...well yeah that's a different story.
  13. I think you're wrong there. I bet 95% of us would still say going for it was right in that situation because it was....period. You can analyze it for the rest of the season but almost anyone on here is going to disagree with what Coach I did. I think you take the points at the 23. If we were at the 35, go for it. I think most other coaches would do the same. Too early in the game to leave points on the field. The Akron kicking game is not reliable despite the first field goal. Same kickers as last year. What, to that point in the game, would make Ianello think he could go another 23 yards and get a TD? Odds were, we would be kicking again in the next 4 plays, even if we got it. Having 3 more shots at the end zone does increase our chances though.
  14. I think you're wrong there. I bet 95% of us would still say going for it was right in that situation because it was....period. You can analyze it for the rest of the season but almost anyone on here is going to disagree with what Coach I did.
  15. No mulligans. Every single person in the stadium not on the Zips coaching staff knew that was a stupid decision. Who thought it was smart to hire someone who has never called plays before? The same dummy who does the boring youtube videos.
  16. I've seen too many of Igor's low-liner kicks to ever feel good about kicking in that situation. 4th-and-2, on the opponent's 23...you go for it every time. At least until we recruit a real kicker. If Igor continues to kick, that exact play will happen again in 2010. As soon as he sent special teams out on that play I turned to my roomate, who I dragged to his first Akron game in two years, and said "This isn't going to end well." Syracuse board: "Akron's coach is my new hero" great, even the other team thinks our coach is a bumbling idiot.
  17. I doubt there are many people who know anything at all about football who would disagree here. I just wish someone would ask him what the hell he was thinking.
  18. There ya go, it's on AkronZipsClips. btw, God forbid UA does this same thing. Ya know what, anyone that has access to the raw footage that they take of every game who wants to pass it along to me should do so. I'll edit it and throw a highlight together for FREE. Just PM on here.
  19. The only time I would ever go to an OSU game to watch football is if they were playing the Zips. I would rather go see Akron play than OSU any day. AMEN...what sort of lame person has such a need to cling to a winner and be a front runner like that? I'd rather root for the hometown team and the underdog over those Cowlumbus State "Nuts On Their Chests"
  20. Honestly, what a step down from our last AD. I hope someone in power reads this and realizes what a huge mistake hiring YTT was.
  21. You're making it sound like UA has some sort of idea in terms of what do to business or marketing wise.
  22. Watched the entire game. A few things: 1) Akron looked like the better team in every area. We were bigger, faster, more aggressive, and made them start panicking early. The Zips tracked down nearly every loose ball. 2) Wake played a little dirty in the second half and there was almost a fight when one of our guys got taken out from behind. In the ensuing scuffle Zarek Valentin had one of the best moments as he went to back up his teammate (Barson i believe, who was on the ground) and did a in a Wake players face. 3) After Nagbe scored he ran over to their stands where their students and mascot were. In unison they all stood and gave him the bird as he danced in front of them. CLASSIC. 4) The shot off the crossbar was one of the most beautiful shots i've ever seen, too bad it didnt go in. 5) The stadium looked pretty nice and they seemed to have a pretty good sized crowd. Though the crowd didn't have many chances to get into it.
