Not a very good argument when you say "I've never seen anyone more passionate for being an Akron Zips than coach blah blah". I've seen plenty of more passionate Akron Zips' coaches. Porter and Dambrot come to mind. If he was so passionate about being a Zip, why would he jump ship at the first opportunity? Though I will be fair and give him the benefit of the doubt if i find that UA didn't even give him a fair offer for salary but i find that hard to believe due to college tennis salaries being far below the major sports. Ya know something like a 25%+ increase to 'not much' isn't that much if he's winning like he was.

That is GREAT news all around. It's too bad no one has OBC downtown but to be able to drink it and not have to buy a keg is awesome. I know what i'm having for tailgating this year (Verich Gold FTW)

As far as im concerned the Suckeyes are in southern ohio. Some place far away and south of here at least.

And how will we know who all the new freshmen are, or whether any have not made it? Buy the media guide because nothing should ever be free.

I had a similar experience before a football game there but i also watched the college cup semifinal there (could only make the final last december) and i had a blast watching it. They had Zips souvenir beer cups and anyone with Zips gear on got that 16 ounce cup full of a domestic for 1.50. Twas a very drunken and fun night.

My stomach dropped when i read that...thanks for scaring the hell outta me.

I talked to the owner in July and was told that a new pub was opening in the Valley in August. Anyone know if she happened for sure? When the Aeros aren't in town its hard to find the best beer in Akron.

The university usual brings in plenty of very good comedians each year. Daniel Tosh this year is eh but ive seen plenty of top notch comedians in the Union that have been real talents from Gotham or Comedy Central.

As long as it doesn't hurt our defense/ GK...it sounds good to me.. our high athleticism and talent is well balanced, in the end it will even out no matter what it causes.

I'm going to the Indiana game, and it would have been nice just to buy tickets through our department but i guess me and about 7 other Zips alumni/students will make up our own mini section.

If it allows more scoring it sounds good to me.

So what time does Lot 34 open up for tailgating? With the kickoff around 6pm...is 1pm too early to set up? I know some places let you set up early and they just send someone around to check for passes or take money. Will Lot 34 be a cash lot in 2010? I still haven't received my tix/parking passes so I don't know which yet we'll be in yet...but want to find out about the lots in general and 34 specifically as that is one of the ones I heard we could be at. I was usually there for night games with my group by 10 am and never had a problem.

Not to divert the thread, but I thought it was funny that I received an invite to a University-sponsored event a few weeks ago. The University-sent email referred to itself as "Akron U." I would think only UA (or AU apparently) athletic marketing could pull off stupidity like that.
