  1. I have heard that in the coming days Coach Ianello will be meeting with some of JD's recruits that are still on the fence (or have changed their minds) about sticking with the program they committed to (this includes Hoobler). In terms of ND recruits, if just one or two change their minds and come to the Zips that will be AMAZING. I mean come on, i love Akron but getting a chance to attend Notre Dame to play football is quite an honor.
  2. Hey i'll agree that"The future is bright" but i wont agree that "he can't be anymore excited".
  3. I agree! Resume seems a little thin. In 1999, he was named one of the top-10 recruiters in the nation by ESPN.com and one of the top six recruiters nationally by Sporting News. I would think being a top 10 recruiter at Notre Dame would be a given. Not sure I get this hire if it is true....Recruiting at Notre Dame is not a given. It's not the hardest place to recruit but it sure as hell isn't the easiest. Remember the requirements academically that ND has, it's not like Can't where any low life or thug can go.
  4. Smug as always...i hate UNC.
  5. Oh no sorry let me clarify...they weren't exactly Tulsa fans. They were St V graduates that were friends of Joe Salem, they were very obnoxious and spilling beer on me and people around me (including my 14 year old cousin and his friend who came with him). This was along with them shouting things far more profane than any Rowdies were yelling with many children in the general area.Oh yeah and there were about 10+ of them. They were right next to me too. There were some people who had camping chairs there set up from when the gates opened. They had been sitting there most of pregame and got up to go get some concessions stuff. Those fans (mostly girls) some how weaseled their way in front of the chairs and stood there. I mean the people who had the chairs had them up to the line, and had they been sitting there they fans would have had no place to go. By doing that they also were blocking a 9 year old's view and told his mom to move if she didn't like it. She was there WAY before this group butted in. At half time the owners of the chair were able to take their seats back, but those joe salem fans were obnoxious and rude.Yeah funny you mention the people with the chairs. Some of them were Malone Soccer players, they have been at a few games this year. It's nice to be next to people who know the rules (well the basic ones, NAIA and NCAA dont seem too much different).Anyhow, yes those girls were the worst, they were really physical pushing people out of the way to get to the front.

I watched some of them (The ones that were screaming during the corner kicks against us anyway) hassle one of the...more vocal rowdies. After the game they were leaving and one of them yelled "Go Tulsa". I made eye contact with him and screamed "You lost...GET THE F*&K BACK TO OKLAHOMA YOU B*&@H". It was fun calling someone out and screaming profanities at them. haha and that's why you're "ChristianZip". And I would have to think Jesus is a Zips fan.
  7. Well it has been nice that 106.9 now carries football games.

  9. I would like this question answered as well. We used to have a photographer at every game, why has athletics/marketing been taking steps back with everything this year?
  10. I know they want to keep the team safe but why weren't you guys allowed on the field?! Last game of the year at the Pouch and possibly the last game ever on that field.I dont know, it was pretty lame. The cop im talking about was a real jerk about it too, he basically tried to start a fight with me. After i left the field of play he kept staring me down and yelling things to me, it was unbelieveable.I'm not going to hate on the cop(s) as they are U of A cops just being told what to do. They do an amazing job for the University.I'm more confused with the policy.Oh trust me i understand. This whole postseason the cops working the Jack have been great. Most didn't care what was said towards the other team and looked the other way when anything out of line was said. The problem was just one guy, and it wasn't just the end of the game. To my left were some Joe Salem/Tulsa fans and they were getting a little out of control by the end of the game as they had somehow managed to sneak in A LOT of beer. A girl to my right complained to this same UAPD cop and his response was "you're allowed to drink if you're 21" and he did nothing about it. When someone else stated that the Tulsa fans were being obnoxious and profane the cop told them to "get over it". And ya know, this guy may have just been having a bad day or something but still it doesn't give him the right to be an ass. In terms of the policy, i would have to think it's an NCAA tournament rule that no one is allowed on the field during postgame. It's stupid and not fun, but hey that's the NCAA for you. They are the same people who had those little yellow megaphones taken from the Rowdies before the game even started.

  12. Great time...too bad some a-hole cop wrangled me as i went on the field and almost took me down. Somebody always has to ruin the fun.But i will see plenty of you next friday in NC!!!
  13. love how the game was blacked out...that sure sucked
  14. I dont know about you guys but i just feel real good about tonight...dont know, maybe it's the dream i had last night about me being drunk at Tap House watching Zeke swat balls into A&M's stands.
  15. PAY HIM then...i dont care if it's way more than the rest of college soccer, make it happen! The money would be nothing compared to what get's thrown around for other sports.Problem solved.
  16. I am going ....period. Now if i can only find a few buddies to make the trip with me.
  17. Yeah i saw this one, didn't think it showed it enough but blown up i guess you can see it better. I can't think of anything cooler than pinstripes that are the fight song, has to be the best baseball jersey ever.
  18. I'm 24 and i LOVE the old A flying A logo. I have since i was a little kid...probably my favorite Zips jersey.
  19. I'm guessing it's sold out. Word is people are not able to purchase tickets online anymore.
  20. I agree with you on Oregon. I can't believe people dont like them, they have GREAT jerseys. To continue this amusing although irrelevant thread: The question is, which Oregon uniforms are you talking about? They have about fifteen, including at least four different helmets. A huge expense, until you understand that this is being underwritten by the Great God Nike. Probably a generation gap here, as I (a Boomer) hate those uniforms, while my football-playing son loves them. Uniforms might have a slight impact on potential recruits if they think they're COOL.I like them all. And yes i would think it does have an small impact on recruiting. Oregons best jerseys are not worn by football but by baseball...i cant find a good picture but their pin stripes are their fight song words. It's awesome.
  21. Why is nobody asking the big question? Where will all the traffic go? It's already tough enough in that area but imagine all of the extra cars leaving peak class times/big events. Can you imagine?
  22. That's great news, with the ability to reenter, i will be heading to the west side to watch through the fence for the second half to heckle me some Tulsa goalie.
  23. I agree with you on Oregon. I can't believe people dont like them, they have GREAT jerseys.
  24. Not much to speak of in the way of fan support there. Only interesting tidbit was this: You aren't kidding, they dont seem to care too much about soccer.
