  1. I agree! The nearest one is Howe road? I'd also like to see some little stores over there that'd be appealing to college students...ideally a modern/local clothing dig like Revival or Market Path...that's over at Highland Square. Millenials/college kids eat that stuff up, and I think it'd make Exchange Street more inviting for students to go explore and stick around for.
  2. Note I said some positive media reception, and as I post this the 12:00 news has already mentioned the MAC and had a featured story about it. Now I could go on a rant about how I can predict, right now, with a high degree of confidence, the outcome of the 2016 election both presidential and senate based on voting trends (and it isn't favorable for the party that took the senate in 2014)...but I'll spare everyone the OT conversation.
  3. This has been a rather hot topic the last couple of days with Indiana deciding to take a giant leap backwards. The Mid-American Conference, however, has decided that it will Boycott the State of Indiana so long as it's new law is in place. Now I'm not sure how much real, measurable, impact this will have...but the specific Boycott is holding any conference championships in the state so long as this law is in place. I've got to hand it to the MAC on this one. We usually criticize the leadership of the conference for doing boneheaded decisions, but this one is pretty good. The MAC isn't a largely recognized conference, but it is bound to get some positive press from making this decision.
  4. Thanks for the great insight there George. What is the ABJ now? A 16-year-old's essay that they wrote for class? Or is the ABJ trying to be Rick Grimes... Now this was an okay article to read...but does anyone take this publication seriously anymore? What awfully lazy reporting.
  5. But wouldn't a true freshman who had the benefit of summer camp have an advantage over a guy who had to learn it on the fly?
  6. Thanks for the inside dig. Assuming your contact is correct, this is good news IMO. I know...I'm the Bowden (now +Chapman) cheerleader here, but out of the QBs on the roster Chapman has the highest ceiling.
  7. I think the bottom line here is that Cleveland CC had the chance to defend, and had the chance to win it outright in OT. I'm not a ref, but I would have called a T on that. I've seen far less have a T called on. Lillard had an awesome game, he needs to remember the awesome game and not the T.
  8. I'll give him a pass. Nice little bit of research from a Sooner
  9. I couldn't find the 2014 prospectus anywhere, but from what I remember what we'd consider 1st stringers were kinda all over the place in the spring game. It is just me, or is it embarrassing that they STILL have a link that says "Buy 2014 Season Tickets" with Jawon Chisholm...in the ARoo helmet...on the site? AND THE FREAKIN LINK STILL TAKES YOU TO THE 2014 SCHEDULE! Embarrassing.
  10. MTB needs a kick in the butt. He has so much potential he's not living up to.
  11. They may need his size at TE at the moment and will step into ILB later?
  12. I agree. I think they're holding out to get an invite to another conference, however I also don't think it's going to happen. Depends on how well they're football team does this year.
  13. Assuming your numbers are correct (and I have no reason to doubt them), it's a no-brainer for UMass to become a full member of the MAC. I wonder if it's an ego thing...
  14. Spring ball practice schedule here.
  15. Thanks for the stats on that OU Dude...my only issue with that perspective is: what are the numbers on Basketball which is probably more of a cash cow for them? Would Basketball be affected by a full move to the MAC?
  16. To be fair to them (which I don't agree with them), they see a guy who hasn't proven anything. I highly touted guy, who hasn't proven anything. The thing I can't understand is the people who are perfectly content with the guy who has just over 50% completion and a less than .500 record.
  17. I don't want to make it sound like I'm dumping on the guy, so I hope no one takes it that way. But I really think we've seen the best Pohl can do. It isn't shoot the lights out, and it isn't absolutely horrible either. Yes there are many variables involved with looking at a QB, but almost none of the games we won were because of Pohl's play. And I'd wager to say that some of them most definitely were. I hope he can remain the way he is, I don't think he's horrible. I'm not giving up on him. I just think we can do a lot better. Rather, we need to do a lot better at that position if we're going to get to that next level.
  18. We're in trouble if we still have Pohl as our starter.
  19. I've sorta been resistant to the idea of adding teams to the MAC...but that actually doesn't sound like too bad of an idea. JMU and Missouri State.
  20. When Can't played State Ohio University this year in football, I wonder if our Governor was wearing a Can't/OSU shirt? #TeamOhio
  21. But isn't that a good reason as to why they are leaving? We haven't played UMass once since they've been a part of the MAC. They wanted to use the MAC as a springboard for their football team...MAC should only accept serious membership in the future.
  22. Hence the "This is a little off topic" statement that was part of that comment. But there was a HUGE conversation on this forum about weekday games...considering the Defending National Champion is going to have a weekday game this year, I thought it pertained to the conversation about the 2015 season.
  23. Agreed. Chapman hasn't proven anything yet. He needs to demonstrate, on the field, that he's the guy. So did DW13.
  24. That's a wonderful point that has added so much to this discussion.
  25. This is a little OT: But, we'll see how well a MONDAY NIGHT Labor Day College Football game goes with the Defending National Champion. With the next game coming 5 days later.
