I agree. I thought it'd be nice to go ahead and get a general idea before I invest the time looking into it. There's a lot of potential, and if ZNO members are afraid of losing anonymity...we don't have to lose our anonymity as members just show up and enjoy the company of other Zips fans. If there's enough interest I'm going to see what I can do to contact student groups on campus. The answer is always no unless you ask, and I'm tired of sitting back wishing things could be better with fan interest/being in the community.

I wanted to open up a topic on an idea that was brought up in another thread by awhile ago. I think we should make an effort to show up at one place to show the local community that Zips fans are out there. I'm tired of sitting on the sidelines and complaining about our lack of "community" when it comes to UA, so I want to be proactive. I'm willing to head this up and contact places if we have a good idea of what we want and if there is enough interest. It'd be nice to plan it in advance so that all members can mark their calendars Please offer commentary. I'm willing to be a point on this if there is enough interest.

Completely agree. Though, I still think it's important that we faithful take it and at least fill out the comment section. I think every single comment section I was brutally honest and had like 7 bullet points. I made a large comment about #TeamOhio sucks As for the Results...can't we Public Record Request the results? That'd Be fun

Looks nice Keener! I'm going to get some customized gear from them ASAP! Here's a question for everyone: They have services where they can make things for Akron-specific groups. Would anyone be interested in getting customized ZipsNation stuff? Perhaps with a created Zipseque Logo by them?

Athletics sent me a survey as a season ticket holder, so many of us here have probably already seen it. For those of you who have not, here is a link to it. Please fill it out. This is a more direct thing, and maybe they'll actually get some good ideas from us. I spent some time filling it out and giving thoughtful responses because I really do care about this program, and I desperately want to see it improve/the game day experience improve for all of us.

Man...I was really hoping to get 3-years out of Chapman, have Harrison RS first year, back-up second year and then have 3-years out of him. None of us really thought he'd stay committed though.

As for the pep band: Brig 'em on! I love the Pep band. I'd rather hear them than the awful competitions.

It's not just you. I've experienced this pretty much all season. Which is why I've become even more brazen to the fact that we need a new arena, or something drastically new in the game-day experience. I haven't been excited at all this season.

UA athletic department must read ZNO, because the famous and wonderful Zippy beating up on other #TeamOhio mascots made it's appearance at the JAR tonight.

We're never going to get a major increase in fans. We as Akron faithful need to accept that. We should focus on making the gameday experience more welcoming to current students so they want to attend more games.

Just for you Keener, I'll bite. I'll give you something that you should have warm and fuzzy feelings about. It's already posted here. You see I count all players brought in by Bowden to be Zips recruits. JUCO to Transfers. Anything and everything to make this team better. Most of the players in the 2013, and 2014 classes haven't seen much of the field. Why should you be having uninspiring feelings from players who haven't played yet? Before Jatavis Brown was flashing signs of being a good LB his sophomore year, couldn't you apply the same "who gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling" comment to him? The reason we are "recruiting apologists" is because we can see with our own eyes how drastically this team has improved in 3-years with Bowden when it comes to talent. Do you remember the Ianello years? Half the players didn't look like they belonged on a D-I field! I'd say the entire incoming class is reason to get warm and fuzzy feelings. I'd say that the "Big-Six" transfers we got are all names you should get warm and fuzzy feelings about.

I love being called a "Bowden Kool-aide drinker", and I'll embrace it. The most entertaining and fun Zips football games I've watched in my limited time as a Zips football fan, have been with Bowden at the helm. All you old guys must have short memories, but do you remember what football was like before Bowden was here...seriously...to even suggest that this program is in danger considering where it has had to dig out from, you must be seriously delusional. I'm not happy we only won 5 games last year, but I'm happy I can actually watch games now expecting to win. I'm happy not spending my entire season wondering which game is going to be the "second" win. Last year we won the MOST games at home in Stadium history (4). Let that stat sink in for a bit before we start going all chicken little. This program is making huge progress.

Maybe I'm missing something but our class isn't ranked last everywhere. With such a drastic difference between rankings on to "big-name" recruiting websites, you can see why they're BS. Also, 4 out of the 5 teams we beat this year had "better" recruiting rankings the we did over the past 5-years...yet we still beat them. So the predictive power of recruiting rankings is not very good.

He'd probably have to sit out a year if he came to Akron right?

+1. Jacob Harrison was ranked a 4-star, now been demoted to a 3-star. What he magically lost his touch? Please. Recruiting rankings are 100% nonsense.

Who on this forum has said they hate Pohl? We're simply pointing out that with 2-years of Pohl at the helm, we've hit a barrier at the QB position. There's no hatred or emotion boiling over with a statement like that, it's stating observations and...frankly...the facts. I don't think there's a member on this forum who wouldn't love for Pohl to improve drastically in the off-season and beat out everyone on the roster...for him to stop throwing the ball to unopened receivers, making the right reads and leading the offense. The fact is, a drastic improvement for a 5th year player isn't likely. We've seen the best that Pohl can do.
