  1. Last year's class seemed heavy on Defense. This year's class seems heavy on offense. Good, bad?
  2. Isn't that the story for all Ohio schools? All the superstars enlist in State Ohio University.
  3. I Kinda miss JC. Zips were 5-1 against him, and at least the Bobkittens were competitive...
  4. Just because there aren't seats doesn't mean it would be in violation of fire codes with the Fire Marshall...I'd expect that the JAR's maximum capacity for fire is much larger than the actual number of seats in there. How many "standing room only" tickets can be sold is my question....
  5. Would UA really turn people away at big games if we "didn't have the seats"? I mean...supposedly our capacity is 5,500...but for those big games we regularly have an attendance of 200+ over that. Is there something I'm missing?
  6. Couldn't that have been said about several of our St. V commits/players as well?
  7. I thought the Media spaces were not lot 9, but those marked off spaces in front of the Stadium, between the stadium and the track? What are those use for?
  8. I don't know...a few negative things could be said about all the OSU National Championship sweatshirts and T-shirts that were on display at the JAR last night. I understand that some people are fans of both teams, but that is just woefully obnoxious.
  9. I agree. This team has the making to be something special. I feel different about this team. I know I'm a younger zips fan here, but I don't remember seeing a Zips team with really good chemistry. Even the 2013 Miracle team went through long droughts of just not working well together at all. This team really seems to click IMO. Something we really, really lacked last year.
  10. I agree ZippyRulz! The only equally as good is seeing the bobkittens at the bottom of the MAC on the men's side! Go ZIps!
  11. Pohl, please prove me wrong and go ball out and take us to a bowl game. But I won't hold my breath.
  12. We don't have a disdain for Pohl, but we've seen the best that Pohl can do. He's enough to get you to 5-7...maybe 6-6...nothing more. We don't hate the guy, we simply think that the Zips can (and need to) do better at the QB position.
  13. I don't agree Zach. You can still be a student at UA, and continue being a student at UA...and still believe this is a ridiculously high amount of money. If you don't like something, that doesn't mean you run away from it. You fight to change it from within. It also doesn't validate it as an appropriate way to fund athletics. IMHO it allows AD's and athletics departments to be lazy. They don't have to actively engage the community, alumni, or students in any meaningful way. Why? Because there's no repercussion if they don't. They'll still be funded regardless as to how the community, alumni or students view them. $800 a year equates to rough $20,000,000 a year used on something not directly supporting the purpose of a University. Even as an Alumni who enjoys athletics; I'm looking at this objectively, and see all criticism as 100% justified.
  14. I AM a union guy, but I've never been in favor of players being paid. I always thought the idea was absurd. However, I think you're onto something there skip. The greatest allies for the "group of five" is those who are the perrenial doormats within the power-five.
  15. Aren't all people with season tickets technically donors?
  16. Here is Darryl's Rivals Profile. ESPN. 247 Looks like BUGS and Marshall were interested in him back in the day.
  17. Well said DiG. And Zach I think that's a good idea, but who'd be dumb enough to shoot themselves in the foot first?
  18. I don't agree, which is why I'm arguing this in the first place. It is not a tough claim to make when it equates to 8.1% of the total cost to go to school. That money will grow with interest as well for those using loans to pay for it. Even if it's equitable to what other schools are doing, its very high. Again: The arguement I'm making here is the viewpoint current students, future students, and their parents are going to hold and do hold. Which is the problem. It's a constant war of keeping up with the joneses. I know I don't have any solutions here, but I do not believe charging students exorbinant amounts of money to "keep competitiveness" is necessarily a good thing. Maintaining student services (upgrading the) as well as maintaining the quality of the student's education should be top priority.
  19. What a moron.
  20. Very, very, very good game! 102-101.
  21. Dave, I understand the reality you just pointed out. I'm not contending that, and I'm not disagreeing with UA's decision to do it. But $400 is ridiculously high, and no one should be shocked that students would complain about this.
  22. There are students who do care akronad.
  23. I could do without the bit on Jim Tressel. No mention of Heisman?
  24. ZI - PS?
