  1. Zips took care of business as they should have after a terrible first quarter. The CMU fans sure can't be happy going from first to worst. They're down to 9 scholarship players and have lost their whole sophomore recruiting class to the portal I think.
  2. Geez, that was an ugly 1Q by the Zips. Better get it in gear!
  3. Decisively. At Toledo. Double ugh.
  4. Like I just said. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
  5. I don't quite understand the strategy of working the ball down low in the post to a guy in the last minute who can't shoot free throws. (See Tree and Big Dog, too).
  6. She returned tonight in a victory over the EMUs. Didn't shoot very well - 12 pts, 7 rebs, 10 assists. Played 39 minutes. Apparently she wasn't injured badly.
  7. OU's Cierra Hooks is a strong candidate, too. She's got a higher average ppg and much better FG percentage. Good rebounder, too
  8. Zips beat the EMUs 64-53 at Ypsilanti, led by Dawson with 22 pts and 8 rebounds.
  9. Zips are now 0-4 against the three teams ahead of them in the standings with two of those games at the JAR. Not a good sign. ๐Ÿคจ
  10. To me, just an unacceptable performance. No excuse for starting out like they did in a rivalry game at home. Dug a hole they couldn't crawl out of. Terrible performances by our guards, especially compared to the Flushes. ๐Ÿคฌ
  11. Zips withstand 2nd half Bronco run and prevail 86-70! Zips led 63-37 at one point in 3Q and WMU cut it to 8 at one point I think.
  12. Zips lead WMU 50-33 at the half, shooting 72% from the field. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
  13. 7 PM CT = 8 PM ET (Game Notes)
  14. Western Michigan loses by 13 at home to Miami. Maybe they were still reeling from a treacherous bus ride home from Akron? ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
  15. I certainly agree about Wednesday and they did have their chances today. Toledo's run at the beginning of the 3rd quarter changed the game, though the Zips battled back a bit. Zips really needed one of these two home games to avoid dropping back into the pack. Going up to WMU looks more daunting now.
  16. Everybody knew it was late but the refs. ๐Ÿ™„
  17. Good game so far. Good crowd. Zips lead 44-36 at half.
  18. Short is still short and the back iron is still the back iron. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Ferrell's two missed FTs when she shot for Corcoran were critical. ๐Ÿ˜– It was an ugly performance overall.
  19. I've always thought they should have a much bigger American flag and pole to the left of the scoreboard. The flags at the closed end are pretty small for the size of the venue and don't make much of an impact.
  20. Considering it's starting and hitting hardest in terms of accumulation in northwest Ohio, heading home then doesn't seem like a good idea. I would think our staff would like to have an early start too, but it sounds like that wasn't possible. Go Zips!
  21. Zips women are tied with Buffalo for the #2 spot in the standings. Tough game at home tomorrow against WMU. I'd like to say I'll be there to root them on, but with the weather forecast it looks like ESPN3 for me. ๐Ÿฅถ I have a feeling WMU may have an extended stay in our fair city.
  22. That second game sounds like a trap game to me. ๐Ÿค”
  23. Zips win 70-60 at Mt. Pleasant. CMU is down this year, but still a good road win. Not sure when we won there last. Dawson with 23 and Lane Farrell with 15. Zips dominated the boards 48-30!
