Miami starts fast in the first half at Toledo and holds on to upset the Rockets 62-60. Look out Zips.

You should have seen the Zips women in dark grey vs Toledo in their navy blues last Saturday. ? Even got a mention on Twitter.

The gold numbers are more readable than many. I don't think many teams including the NBA pay much attention to readability these days.

Ugh. Zips lose at home 75-62 to previously 8-9 (4-8 MAC), Toledo - losers of 5 in a row. This was the kind of game you just can't lose if you are going to make a move to improve and finish the season on an upswing. The Zips even led by 1 at the half with Dawson on the bench most of the time in foul trouble. Toledo won the 3Q 26-13 to take over the game. The Zips next game as of now is not for 11 days. Hopefully they can find some answers. Next game is at last place Miami who has threatened to upset Can't, CMU and Ball State the last 3 games.

Zips women fall at Kalamazoo 74-66 in a Wednesday afternoon matinee game (why?). Zips had 25 turnovers vs 20 for WMU. If you have any intention of watching the replay, don't expect to see the final minute or so. The feed inexplicably switched to an overhead view of the Wofford men in early warmups. ? Not that the outcome was really in doubt.

On a Saturday when coincidentally all bottom three MAC women's teams threatened upsets, only the Zips hold on pull out an 89-84 win in OT at Muncie. Key was a 29-12 3Q to take the lead. ?

With all the comings and goings and not really seeing the bench on tv, I'd pretty much forgotten about him. Good for him. He showed some loyalty still coming here after KD left.

Maishe averaged 3.5 ppg in 3 years at Iowa. Not sure what indicated he'd be a star in the MAC, especially after sitting out a year.

Wow, so much for turning things around. Zips run out to a 20-4 lead only to trail at half 28-26 and lose 77-55. Just awful. This team needs a lot of fixing. ?

Tonight will be another tough one with a rematch against Buffalo. To me the third quarter of the first game was the season turning point or when reality set in for the team this year. They were 3-0 and sailing along with a 15 point lead with about three minutes left in the 3Q when the roof caved in. I root for this team as much if not more than the men because I feel like I know the players a little more than the men and the assortment of transfers, one year players , jucos etc. that so many of the men's teams in D1 basketball have become. It's nice to see a player for 3-4 years and watch them develop. That being said, I'm no coach/recruiter but I just don't see the consistent skill level on this team being able to compete with the top half of the conference. And if they keep getting crushed on the boards not much will improve. There is a lot of reference to the team being young but they began the year starting one senior, three juniors and a sophomore. Three juniors should really be stepping up at this time. Dawson is fine, but she is trying to do too much to make up for others. I hope they can step it up and turn things around a bit starting tonight. Go Zips!
