  1. I confused it with the first scrimmage.
  2. A conspiratorial soul might think it's all done as part of a bigger plan by the administration to downgrade football to FCS or D2.
  3. I'll get you some grab bag specials- a Matthew Wilson bobblehead, a Bowden Football Camp t-shirt and a pair of pink sunglasses- to pull you through to next year.
  4. Oh my, where will you get your 3 day old news now?
  5. GT article on LCJ Moving on. Not exactly a surprise- https://www.beaconjournal.com/story/sports/college/zips/2021/04/02/university-akrons-loren-cristian-jackson-pass-another-season/7065290002/
  6. LCJ is the champ! I'll miss that damn kid! That was more fun than it should have been. It was also fun watching all of the players there, male and female, from different teams, all rooting for each other. LCK mentioning how fun it was to beat LIttleson again was too funny.
  7. LCJ with 22 on to the final! Gets to go against a West Point kid.
  8. LCJ first in the first round, Littleson from Toledo second. Nice showing for the MAC.
  9. If there was ever a year that empty roster spots were valuable this is it with the explosion of the transfer portal. I think Marshall is a loss. Edwards redshirted then hardly played so he wasn't ever going to be much of a factor. Giving Currie the benefit of the doubt, at best he was a just a bad fit. I always assumed Reece was moving on. All in all, I am not losing sleep over any of the losses as none of them are irreplaceable.
  10. I think some of them were expected just given their lack of contribution and the fact that the coaches are with them every day and can see their attitudes. Currie and Edwards were certainly predictable and Reece was a senior. As the season wore down, I am confident they saw some of them coming.
  11. Yep, the contract is nice in that it rewards his efforts and is a nice thing to point to with recruits, but he'll not fulfill it if he lives up to expectations.
  12. Good luck to Edwards. Getting redshirted and then playing 10 minutes and 52 seconds in an entire season does not bode well for your future contributions on a team. We shall now call 16:13 of playing time in a season the "Currie line." He woefully fell below that. Woohoo, another spot for a contributor.
  13. LCJ SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN 2021 STATE FARM COLLEGE SLAM DUNK & 3-POINT CHAMPIONSHIPS- https://gozips.com/news/2021/3/27/mens-basketball-akrons-loren-cristian-jackson-selected-to-participate-in-2021-state-farm-college-slam-dunk-3-point-championships.aspx?spMailingID=6748976&spUserID=MjUzOTI2MDE2NzM3S0&spJobID=1220867113&spReportId=MTIyMDg2NzExMwS2
  14. I have my wheelchair, rosary and lap blanket ready to go. Currie announced his departure on Twitter. To his credit, he did not ask us to "respect his decision."
  15. Naaaaaaaaaaaaaah, he's OU's castoff. LOL. What knuckleheads some people were.
  16. Another downside of Covid was that I was unable to buy a grab bag or two of assorted crap at the annual sale to subsequently donate to Goodwill. One can't have enough Bowden Football Camp t-shirts.

  19. Congrats to CSU for making the tournament. That's a real accomplishment given where they were a year ago and the late hiring of the coach. That being said, I saw them a couple of times and they were not very good. The Horizon was awful this year.
  20. I had Taylor Currie in the starting lineup, so we're even!
  21. Shaka to Marquette sounds pretty solid. Lots of changes in Austin. I suspect Shaka saw the writing on the wall. I used to be a Marquette fan.
  22. They should apportion the $3 million or so they get from those games in proportion to the success of the various programs. We'll call it the Clarkie Success Initiative.
