  1. Some numbers to ponder. Buffalo's top three rebounders are Mballa at 10.4 rpg, Williams at 7 rpg and Graves at 5.9 rpg. The Zips top rebounders are Freeman at 9 rpg, Reece at 4.7 rpg and Ali at 3.4 rpg. Not only are their top 3 ahead statistically, they are usually on the floor together which can't be said about the Zips as Freeman and Reece do not see the floor at the same time.
  2. Freeman and Reece must have good games AND get help from others on the boards.
  3. The Zips move on to face Buffalo who beat Miami. The Zips were 0-1 versus our Canadian friends. The Zips mounted a big comeback last week at Niagara Falls but fell short, losing 80-78. The Zips better come ready to rebound.
  4. Whew. On to Buffalo. Plowden has been my favorite non-Zip MAC player the last couple of years. He sure showed his talent tonight.
  5. Hmmm, why would they be missing? Why was Friday's game cancelled?
  6. Zips should be up 20. BG now finding their range.
  7. No Wynn. No Dailey. I think we are seeing why Friday's game didn't happen.
  8. Dailey hasn't started since the OU game. Tribble was in the staring lineup for Buffalo and BG.
  9. I think that's the key. You can't let Matheny be a strong third option.
  10. Yes, it is early. However, there's a reason Sean Lewis's name is in the discussion for big school jobs, including Kansas. That program is going in the right direction. We should be so lucky. We'd be erecting a Tom Arth statue if he made that type of progress and won seven games and took the team to a bowl in his second year. Also, the first of your two win seasons wasn't Lewis's.
  11. I think one need look no further than the All-MAC teams to figure out the late season swoon for the Zips.
  12. Another area school (more of a junior college) plays the grinder OOC schedule and in fact set the record for OOC monies, and yet they seem to be improving every year.
  13. Comparing LCJ to Marreon, LCJ scored 4.2 ppg more than Jackson. Their assist and turonver numbers are essentially equal, but Jackson averaged 3.3 more rpg. In the end, if the Zips win the MAC regular season, LCJ might have had a chance to repeat.
  14. Good call. 2nd in rebounding, 1st in blocks, 1st in field goal percentage in the league should get you something. I do see he made the all defensive team.
  15. I guess that's the nod for winning the regular season league title. I have no problem with the first team selections. I think it is telling that the Zips don't have anyone on the second or third teams with only Trimble making honorable mention.
  16. Interesting point from this morning's Beacon article- Arth said 115 student-athletes fill his roster. Of that number, only approximately 15 have any spring practice experience. The current roster includes about 10 players who enrolled early.
