I don't know that I could go on without Tuesday night football. -

The two professional sports organizations with the least self-insight-- NCAA and MLB. -

Yes, you want the free market benefits of being a professional you should also take on the responsibilities. -

I thought a basic rule of the portal was that entering it allowed schools to make contact. I think it is pretty damn obvious that schools are making contact with players before they ever enter. Also, if we're going to allow them to essentially be pros, isn't there an argument to be made that they should also be signing contracts? Tavari leaving opens the door wider for Young, which isn't a bad thing other than it speeds up him going into the portal after next season. -

I like Nate, appreciate his contributions and wish him well. That being said, he very much benefited from the lack of dominant MAC players in winning MAC POY. He had some great games for the Zips but when I look at the history of MAC POYs he's one of the least impactful. As I said, I like Nate. He seems like a great kid. I don't begrudge his decision to head to Kansas State for life changing money and I hope to hell he proves me wrong and has a million dollar year as far as accomplishments but I think he's a contributor as opposed to a standout in the Big 12.. -

Wow. 14 points and 5 rebounds per game in the MAC gets you north of $1M. -

I've been in and out the last 2 or 3 days. Have we seen anything official yet on Tavari? -

Any criticism of the players comes from the same place in our brains that criticizes our flame when she breaks up with us. She really wasn't that hot. -

Okay, assuming Tavari is gone. Young for Tavari, Eric Mahaffey for Nate. Such is our world. ...and, above it all- we still have the best head coach in the MAC. -

I think it is a sad indicator of the apathy for Zips football.

Agreed. It's definitely a symptom as opposed to "the issue." We'll eventually end up with another division in D1 athletics as the Akron's of the world can't compete financially. -

We've gone from thinking that kids deserved an opportunity to make some pocket money signing autographs at the local car dealer to backups making millions. It's ridiculous. -

True. I think he and a P4 team are likely to be disappointed as I don't think he's a difference maker at that level. -

Maybe he's just opening the door to offers, possibly to come back (wishful thinking). Hell of a gift on the Day of Giving. He should have spoken to Ali as to how much greener that grass is elsewhere. It's amusing that his X handle is LoyaltyNateJohnson. -
The flood damage excuse sounds like....ummm.....hooey. I'd be very surprised if Burns didn't have a mortgage in that $750K home. As such, he'd have been required to maintain insurance at all times.

Don't forget, it's the UA Day of Giving. Get in and donate something to the basketball program. -
I'm not going to lose sleep over Parks. I'm not sure he's a very good fit with the up tempo nature of this squad. We already got the better Buckeye.
