  1. I don't want to play PCCC a third time.
  2. The inactivity in the portal could be any number of things. It could be a staff that wants to stick with their own recruits rather than risk taking on another team's problem. It could be that the staff is just bad at recruiting the portal. It could be that kids in the portal are looking for a better situation and don't see a team with 1 win on two seasons are a better situation. Certainly, one win in two years doesn't make it an easy sell. In any event, this program needs players that can contribute. There are kids in the portal that meet that description. The staff needs to figure out a pitch that overcomes the initial perception of a program in disarray and make an effective pitch around playing time and being a part of building something special.
  3. Surprised they could find 1 minute and 47 seconds of highlights-
  4. Buffalo throttled OU today by 20, at Athens.
  5. Last year, they were 16-4 20 games in. This year, they are 14-6 with fewer OOC dogs. Maybe it's not as bad as we fear?
  6. The Zips head off to southern Ontario Tuesday to face the bovine. In this odd Covid driven year, the Zips were to open the MAC season with the bovine yet are now not playing them until the second half of the season. The game is yet another 2:00 tipoff. So far, no telecast is listed on either site and the game is not listed in the ESPN+ schedule for Tuesday. This is really pi$$ing me off. Buffalo is 11-7/9-5 heading into the Hocking Valley today. 6'5" junior forward Jeenathan Williams leads them at 17.9 ppg while adding in 7.4 rpg. SVSM grad Jayvon Graves is the team's second leading scorer at 14.7 ppg. 6'7" junior junior center Josh Mballa leads the league in rebounding at 10.1 rpg while scoring 14.6 ppg. Mballa and Williams give them 2 of the MAC's top 7 rebounders. Hopefully, the Zips will be able to recover from their recent slump. Here's hoping Mr. Pinky loses the Zips voodoo doll he found during the halftime of the Zips/PCCC game and the Zips can get back on track. They'd better plan the hit the boards in this one.
  7. Good call Hilltopper. They also don't seem to have any alphas other than LCJ. Last year's team had guys like Tyler, Channel and Deng who would take a guy aside and give him encouragement or stern direction, whatever was needed. I don't see that on this squad. They like each other and have fun together but I don't see strong leaders other than LCJ. Every team has its slumps. Here's hoping it's just that and they will soon come out of it.
  8. Last year's team was special. Special= rare. That team may have had less individual talent than this squad but had a grit and team spirit that allowed it to quickly overcome any difficult times. You could see it on the floor and on the bench. This team clearly doesn't have that and it's getting too late to develop it. I guess it's not realistic to expect a special team every year.
  9. Poor team-ism...Going to have to find their way fast...just not where we want to be on the defensive end...
  10. They're just completely out of sync on offense and defense. This team has just not meshed like last year's squad.
  11. Also, the best guard defenders to get stops and steals, I guess.
  12. Tribble and Clarke, a combined 5/28 on the season on threes in the game late.
  13. The Zips are just not a very good team right now. It's like they completely lost their edge during the half of the PCCC game.
  14. Participation ribbon for the Zips!
  15. 36% shooting, giving up 46%. Ugh.
  16. BG at least got their slump out of the way in mid-season.
  17. LCJ with 24 and no on else in double digits.
  18. He averages 3 points a game. He's be a season long non-factor.
  19. I'm a little concerned about what happens when Turner and Plowden wake up.
  20. Big Boy Swingle with his best game of the year.
  21. Good call Bigzip 1!
  22. Giving up 3's to Metheny like I was worried about.
  23. 357 days ago we were sitting in the JAR watching our Zips beat PCCC...sigh.
  24. It's one of those 20 hour two day doubleheaders!
  25. Grande problema. Cinco libras de problemas.
