  1. Tahjai Teague really seems to be coming into his own for the Cards. He had 25 points, 9 boards, 2 blocks and 3 steals against Canada.
  2. You still thinking that? LOL. Go Zips!
  3. I would agree that I suffer from NEO Sports Psychosis. As a result, I'm always looking for the heartbreak lurking around the corner.
  4. I like this team but there's a lot of season left and some work by the team to be done. I appreciate the enthusiasm but want to see more results before getting caught up in the polls.
  5. Everybody needs to pump the brakes a little...
  6. NWAkron’s favorite MAC team, the 9-6 Ball State Cardinals, come into the JAR for a late night 9 p.m. game Friday fresh off of a 20 point drubbing of Canada. The Cards are led by junior guard Ishmael El-Amin at 14.6 ppg. El Amin is the son of former University of Connecticut and NBA player Khalid El-Amin. Cardinals ended up with 16-17 record overall and won just six MAC games last year. Ball State lost guard Taylor Person to graduation. Senior forward Tahjai Teague was named to the West Division Preseason All-MAC Team and the team was predicted to finish third in the West Division.
  7. Zips turned 21 turnovers into 32 points. Nice. Need to fix the defensive breakdowns we saw in the second half.
  8. Time to put X back in and ride it out.
  9. Flowers kicking out his leg when he shoots is as bad as a defender stepping in under a shooter.
  10. Down to 7. 50-43, 12:19. Grrrrrr.
  11. Crappy start to the half. Zips need to wake up. 42-32, 15:44.
  12. Hustled out of position, resulted in a three point play. Refs are killing the flow.
  13. Good start, iffy in the middle, nice finish to the half.
  14. I'd be content with never having to see another Riak three pointer.
  15. 19-8 Zips at 11:12 mark.
  16. 9-0 start for the Zips.
  17. Torrey Patton helped fill out a decimated roster for the Zips. He's now doing that for CSU. He was co-player of the year with Javon Graves his senior year in high school and they had a great battle in the state final. With the Zips, the kid always played hard and seemed to have a nose for the ball, but had limited ball handling and shooting skills. Looks like he went off to community college and improved his game. According to the CSU website, he's shooting 59% from the field, 47% from the free throw line and 58% from the three point line. I don't think that will continue. He always seemed like a decent kid so I wish him well.
  18. I get the feeling that this will be one of those games where the outcome is never much in doubt yet not one in which the Zips ever get a huge lead like against EMU. Comfortable, but never completely put them away. Zips 71-59.
  19. Hawkins is the Crash Davis of MAC basketball.
  20. Every 50 year old recruit in American knows the Bowden name.
  21. I can take credit (whether or not I said it).
