  1. It was said because it's a fact. The point is that it needs to be settled on a much higher level. That's not to be dismissive or squelch the discussion. I just hope that all those that want action to be taken are voicing their opinion at that higher level rather than just on here. Danny Hoke has given you the info to do it. Also, as I've said a number of times on here, one can be critical of both Bowden and Arth. As an aside, I also think that many of those now concerned with the budget would be much less concerned if the Zips had a reasonable season rather than the abomination we saw. THANK GOD THE BASKETBALL SEASON IS HERE.
  2. Let's hope the math department wasn't responsible for that one! Four fewer games for $15 more......but you do get that fancy duffle bag (the same one you would get for the $60).
  3. ...and so it goes...
  4. With every post you confirm the accuracy of your name.
  5. Let's not act like UA suddenly gave up on winning football or forgot how to field a successful DI program. From the record since 1987, it is clear they never learned. Since then, no Akron head coach has been successful. Faust had two winning seasons out of nine. Owens had three out of nine. Brookhart had two out of six. Ianello had none in two years. Knute Bowden only had two in seven years. I don't know what the answer is. I suspect it won't be settled on an internet forum. That type of historical record certainly suggests it's more than just one bad head coach or misguided AD.
  6. Seems like just yesterday Ramart was considered a contender for the starting job.
  7. I've been one that's preached patience through the transition. That period of patience officially ended with the final whistle tonight. From here it damn well better be onward and upward with no delay.
  8. I don't disagree with his sentiment, I just think it was reaaaaaalllllyy old news and was his same old tired schtick.
  9. Bob Dyer is as much of a journalist as Jerry Lewis was a serious actor.
  10. I'd have to read it Danny (other than the first and last line), and at an obvious 500 words plus of stuff we've most assuredly read before, that's very unlikely.
  11. The 4-2 Zips welcome the 5-3 Merrimack Warriors into the JAR the day after Thanksgiving. Merrimack, after having some success in DII, is in their first year of D1. The highlight of their season appears to be a 71-61 win over Northwestern at Evanston. The rest of their wins appear to be against pretty pedestrian teams. 6-4 senior guard Jaleel Lord leads the Warriors at 11.9 ppg, while 6 foot guard Juvaris Hayes leads rebounding at 5.9 rpg. Here's a nice preview of the Warriors from the Merrimack website- https://merrimackathletics.com/news/2019/11/5/2019-20-mens-basketball-season-preview.aspx I am out of town next week so I expect all of you to take over screaming important directions to the refs, coaches and players so that they don't miss me.
  12. X is still shaking off rust. Hard to put it on one player. If he makes more and stays out of foul trouble, maybe Banks and LCJ don't get as many opportunities. You just never know.
  13. Louisville will beat a lot of good ACC teams worse than they beat the Zips. Promising performance by the Zips. Mack's a good coach, but damn, he didn't come up with a single good out of bounds play down the stretch.
  14. Zips showing some grit. Obviously outmanned but playing hard with a lot of heart.
  15. X is just out of sorts tonight. He's also the focus of Louisville's defensive attention.
  16. Zips starting to look tired.
  17. Awful damn call against LCJ. Banks is sure showing his value to the team tonight.
  18. They are so good everywhere and just keep coming. They will be in the final mix in March.
  19. That Nwora kid is as advertised.
  20. X with two fouls early.
  21. I see Chris Mack and John Groce use the same barber.
  22. Youtube TV has the ACC channel.
  23. Old Bob likes to swing at the low hanging fruit. Fortunately, his average is below the Mendoza line. He's a columnist looking for readers. His analysis is paper thin. I read the piece and thought "ummmmm, so what does this offer that we didn't already know?" The stadium is bigger than they need. Check. Arth cost UA money. Check. The football team has sucked. Check. Thanks for all that insight Captain Obvious. What's next, and expose on the end of the Kostelac era at UA?
  24. Plus $4 for about every concession item.
  25. Top 5 InfoCIsion Crowds this year: 1. Hoban/Massillon 2. Hoban/SVSM 3. Founders Week Gathering 4. UA Basketball Ice Cream Social 5. Neighborhood Kids breaking into stadium to play football
