  1. I just know they've made the tournament in 3 of the last 4 years. They did it through the MEAC though, so who knows.
  2. I wouldn't see it selling out for Hoban-Massillon. Best crowd of the year at Infocision, sure, sellout unlikely. I recall Massillon-Highland there in 2013. Massillon fiiled most of their side of the stands, but not completely and they'll bring more than Hoban. Attendance for the Hoban-Massillon state championship game last year was 16,213. Capacity at Infocision is 30K. As an aside, OHSAA will probably look for another venue as Infocision is only a mile from Hoban and they play there every year against SVSM. OHSAA regulations state that distance is not a factor, but I think that may be a little close for their liking. Hopefully, KSU is making Dix available.
  3. I think that's almost a certainty. I don't believe he's even dressed for the first two games.
  4. Why risk losing your reputation for positivity?
  5. I can't imagine the insane tailgating that must be going on!
  6. Prochain Match? Sounds like some deep south wrasslin' thing I'd have watched on TBS in the 70's.
  7. That's just bleed over from tonight's football game.
  8. That's the problem. He's not that good. He may look good against 6 foot tall kids in the Akron Canton league, but there's a reason he's a walk on and hasn't played a minute thus far. He's end of the bench talent. If he ends up in the wind, it's going to blow him to Malone, Wooster or Hiram.
  9. Naaaaaaaaaaah, lots of incomplete passes and running out of bounds!
  10. Good luck to him. I always thought he could be a decent player off of the bench. Met him this summer and seemed like a nice kid, but he was out of the rotation last week.
  11. FF- the Zips point total will edge out the number of inches of snow we get before game time.
  12. I remember when Blount ended up at SVSM after going to school in the Pittsburgh area. He was interviewed after a big game against Hoban by a Beacon reporter and told the reporter he had played AAU for Coach Dru and told him he wanted to play for SVSM and Coach Dru told him he "would make it happen." As you might imagine, that did not go over well with the SVSM critics. LOL.
  13. I'm surprised they'd telecast something this graphic at a time children are still up.
  14. NC Central on the 15th, SC Upstate the 18th. They play a thrid of their games against teams with directions in their names!
  15. I just figured they were yet another OOC directional school but they seem to be building a nice program down there. Oddly, they haven't yet played a game but will play two (tonight and Monday) before the Zips face them.
  16. North Carolina Central comes into the JAR on the 18th. Looking at their roster, I see that SVSM grad Jabri Blount (Mel Blount's son) is on the roster. Looks like the team had 7 seniors last year. Blount, a 6-7 senior forward, is the top returning player averaging 10.1 points, , 4.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists as a junior. In 2019, the Eagles went to a third-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance by winning the MEAC Tournament for a third-straight year.
  17. Nice showing by the Zips. No quit in that team. Very encouraging performance. At the end of the day, at that level, they just got outmanned, however, most importantly, they did not get out-efforted.
  18. 86-76, 2 minutes. Refs calling it very tight now. I don't mind how they call it as long as they are consistent throughout the game.
  19. X looks like he is still shaking off some rust from a year off.
  20. After all these years, old Huggs still gets his kids to play hard.
  21. That's what I tell my wife. It doesn't matter at the MAC level.
  22. Reese is working his @$$ off.
  23. Theme of the night--"have a run, give up a run."
  24. Back to single digits after 8-0 Zips run.
