  1. Nice start. Moving the ball by passing against the zone. Maybe they're finally getting it.
  2. No sign of him even in street clothes.
  3. Getting ready to head and it has the feeling of going to a dentist appointment. Hoping for the start of a big turnaround tonight.
  4. You may have to be suspended. LMAO. What are we going to do with you?
  5. I think some of that was precipitated by KD's departure and the transfer out of so many players and the demands of college basketball to get things up to speed quickly. He had a lot of spots to fill in short order and the quickest way to do that is JUCOs and transfers. I suspect, and hope, that will settle out.
  6. The Eastern Michigan bus just rolled into the Steels Corners McDonald's in Stow. Maybe the Zips will get the benefit of some stomach issues with the Eagles.
  7. With many left over to be shot in the future by the t-shirt cannon in the direction of NWAkron.
  8. Groce essentially said on the radio last week that he'd like 9 guys in the rotation but that the minutes for the last two spots need to earned. I suspect the two that need to earn their way in are E-man and Roscoe.
  9. I wasn't aware until I got the game day email. I suspect 3000 will be plenty.
  10. It doesn't help that he's getting abused on the defensive end too by larger guards. He'll come around on offense. They really need to get out in transition tonight.
  11. Free Fear the Roo t-shirts tonight to the first 3,000.
  12. If that's the case, it's a sad damn commentary on the team's leadership.
  13. The Eagles may be a rare team that shoots worse than the Zips from the three point line at .298. It appears their starters are: 6' 2" redshirt Senior Guard Paul Jackson- 13.2 ppg; 4.1 apg; 1.9 rpg 6' 2" sophomore guard Kevin McAdoo- 8.3 ppg; 1.2 apg; .9 rpg 6' 10" senior forward James Thompson- 11.2 ppg; .6 apg; 10.3 rpg 6' 11" sophomore forward Boubacar Toure- 9 ppg; .3 apg; 8.1 rpg 6' 9" redshirt senior forward Elijah Minnie- 14 ppg; 1.3 apg; 4.6 rpg The sixth man is 6' 7" sophomore forward Ty Groce- 5.6 ppg; 1.4 apg; 4.1 rpg. In short, damn they're big. Riak, Sayles and E-man had better come to play and everyone had better box out.
  14. From your mouth to the basketball gods ears...
  15. But they're getting good looks....sigh.
  16. Not sure we can pencil any team as a win right now. Between the way the Zips are playing and the crazy nature of MAC, there's no certainty (other maybe than Buffalo's superiority). I'm really hoping this is just a slump the Zips will recover from, but I am skeptical. It's going to get tougher dragging my old tired @$$ from the deck to the JAR in the cold weather if they don't!
  17. Not that the facts matter, but here's a quote from the ABJ article- "According to the police report, Treadwell assaulted King during an altercation at her home on Spicer Street about 4 a.m. Saturday. The assault left King, 23, with “apparent minor” injuries. Police took photographs of the injuries..." I think we both agree Gueye should be gone. Let's just leave it that.
  18. Jeopardy does not entirely depend on the swearing of witnesses but can attach on a plea. In depends on the terms of the plea and the elements of the offenses at issue. Plenty real here. Female victims of domestic and related violence always report it to the authorities. That's why the system works so well.
  19. This one worries me with the poor play of the Zips bigs. Could make for a long night. I am concerned they'll get killed down low on defense and will opt for hoisting threes on offense (which hasn't gone well).
  20. Time it right and you can paint and drink wine too.
  21. The 8-8 Eagles come into the JAR Tuesday night fresh off of a 34 point thrashing of Mr. Pinky's Travelling All-Stars. The Eagles are 2-1 in the MAC having beaten PCCC and Ball State while losing to Buffalo. They are led by Elijah Minnie's 14 ppg and 17 year MAC vet James Thompson's 10.3 rpg. They play quite a bit of 2-3 zone with 6-10 Thompson, 6-11 Toure and 6-9 Minnie all in the mix. The Zips enter the game at 1-2 in the MAC fresh off...............................................................awwwwwwwww screw it. Go Zips.
  22. There have been many ups and downs the last two years and I have tried to keep an optimistic and hopeful through them all, but today is my low in the last two years. Up 9 at half to losing by 17 fresh on the heels of a putrid performance at Central, coupled with the Gueye incident, and my faith in the program is at a recent low. Listening to that game and hearing about the body language of the team when things went south in the second half, I am damn fed up. I joked about them taking the bus to DeKalb after the CMU loss instead of flying. They can walk home from DeKalb.
  23. As opposed to teammates. Sorry, couldn't help myself.
  24. A blurb from an article on Gueye on his leaving SC- "Gueye, a Senegal native, was used sparingly over his two-year career. He appeared in 45 games, recording a total of 11 points and 38 rebounds. After logging 13 minutes at Tennessee on Feb. 13, Gueye didn’t play again in 2017-18." I am not going to lose sleep over his loss.
  25. Less as far as the injury caused I guess, but violence against someone off of the court, a female at that, is not "way less."
