  1. No Riak. E-man and Cheese in starting lineup.
  2. If he does, I may at least be able to understand him. JAR sound system + Bowdenese = UNINTELLIGIBLE GIBBERISH.
  3. The decision may have been made but the game delayed them from moving forward while other teams were already on the hunt
  4. While disappointed that I was passed over, I am hopeful for Arth. At this point, I am in "wait and see" mode. I am concerned with the following sentence in one of the articles above- "Akron was the last opening at the FBS level in the 2018-19 coaching cycle as of this writing." I am afraid the South Carolina game, which at this point meant nothing but a payday, put Akron a step behind.
  5. From watching Cheese in warmups and the games, I don't think his outside shot will get much better. He is better at going to the hoop than Banks, while Banks is the better shooter. Cheese will have some streaks where his shooting is okay but never be one of the team's better shooters. Riak brings a little more offense than the other bigs and more than I expected. Sayles has potential but has been way too inconsistent. E-Man is great, but limited offensively and has to rely entirely on his athleticism to defend true bigs. We're not likely to see much if any from K-Lac from here on in, absent significant injuries and it doesn't get much better for him next year with Gueye and Williams coming aboard.
  6. So they can say they did their due diligence and that the search company earned its money.
  7. We're both great recruiters.
  8. Worthlessfootballrumors.com reports that online forum bloviator ClarkWGriswold is a candidate for the Akron job, bringing the total number of reported candidates to 967.
  9. I'm going to be a little pissy of we end up with a stiff and local boy Scot Loeffler is successful at BG. Too bad we never got a chance at him with him getting snatched up before the Zips played at SC.
  10. ...and just like that the offensive coordinator at Central Ohio Technical College Coshocton Campus and the head coach at West Holmes High School become rumored candidates for the UA job!
  11. There's a lot south of Alliance!
  12. I didn't think Kehres would move on from Mount, but the whole timing of this, with the D3 championship tomorrow night, has me thinking...
  13. I am down for them playing as many games as possible. I'm just not big on the finances of those types of tournaments where teams essentially buy home games, etc.
  14. I would like to fix that article headline to read "Akron basketball looking up for the immediate future long term."
  15. Really good article from SI.com on the challenges faced by head coaches moving up to the FBS from FCS, D2 and D3 schools- https://www.si.com/college-football/2018/12/12/chris-klieman-mike-houston-fcs-fbs-head-coaches
  16. How are you in small group situations, like games at Infocision?
  17. My hope and expectations are to be in the top third of the MAC this year and competing at the top next year.
  18. I heard a Miss. State guy was in town and just assumed it was Getsy.
  19. Agreed that the coaching has not been as good in football as in basketball, but Glen Mason, Pees, Martin and Hazell were pretty solid in their time there. On the topic of their coaching hires, here's hoping Mr. Pinky outlasts every coach in PCCC history!
  20. As much as it pains me to say it, Laing Kennedy made some pretty good coaching hires in his time at PCCC.
  21. Good points. I do, however, think that Marshall is by far better than any other team we've seen at the JAR this year. I think they'd be in the top half of the MAC.
  22. I told you NW, I'm everywhere...
  23. I heard that the Notre Dame College coach is interviewing for the position.
  24. Yep, Toledo thumped the Detroit Mercy team that was competitive at the JAR by a whopping 44 points!
