  1. Unfortunately, he did that on Saturday and still got called for a foul!
  2. I would love to see Malcolm and Vershon on the floor together more often, even in the starting lineup. I like Parrish's length and athleticism, but his turnovers and defensive lapses drive me crazy. Not Nick Harney level crazy, but freshman lapse crazy. This game concerns me, especially their size with Sayles likely out. I think we're going to see Koste-lack of playing time transition to Koste-lack of rest.
  3. You're one for one lilroodude.
  4. He also walked Sayles out to the bench towards the end of the game. I think we have a winner.
  5. I think catching the rim with the ball may have thrown him off. After watching too many Zips big men over the years not go up strong, I like seeing Sayles do it.
  6. 4 years ago the Lillard kid from BG was in the D2 Ohio state championship game and went down the middle of lane and threw one down with under a minute left that gave his team what looked like enough to pull it out, but he got T'd up and eventually his team lost in OT. I don't think he hangs on the rim any more. Let me know what you see when you watch the replay. I wonder if contact caused Sayles to go down. When it happened, Groce jumped out to yell to Sayles to get up and get up the floor, but as soon as he saw his condition he immediately changed.
  7. Groce told Frenchy he was going to call a timeout when Smith came up with the rebound but Coach Ford was in his ear and convinced him to let it play out.
  8. Wow, what a game. 31-18 Zips on the fouls. What an awfully officiated game. One of the worst I've seen in a while, and I am not one to whine about officiating. I'm not sure what more the refs can ask a player to do on D then to hold his ground with his arms straight up. When the offensive players initiates contact in that situation, that's NOT a defensive foul. Groce said post-game that he thought Sayles eyes were in the back of his head. Scarey situation. They believe he has a concussion and he's off to the hospital to check everything out. He also had ice on his wrist.
  9. Rec center Smith with the rebound of the game.
  10. President Wilson just walked sales out to the bench.
  11. He just walked off under his own power.
  12. I have a bad angle as I am on that end behind the basket, but it look for a second like he may have been seizing.
  13. Yes, concious and responding
  14. This doesn't look good for Sayles.
  15. I wonder if it has anything to do with E-man. Could also be next man up/relay type thing.
  16. The refs are calling some ticky tack $h!+.
  17. Koste-lack of playing time today
  18. Anyone have any insight as to the Baton type thing that the Zips are using when players are going in and out of the game?
  19. Utomi, Ivey, Patton, Duvivier and Parrish.
  20. No center in the starting lineup. Push the ball.
  21. I'm trying to be optimistic in my misery.
  22. Well, on the positive side, it looks like I'll finally get to use that extra ticket in my ticket package for a home MAC playoff game.
  23. Plain Dealer/Cleveland.com article- http://www.cleveland.com/sports/college/index.ssf/2018/01/akron_zips_emmanuel_olojakpoke.html The Beacon devoted an entire 24 words at the end of an article about Duvivier to the story.
  24. Well, with the E-Man loss, I wonder of we start seeing anything different from the Zips in this one. With only two big men, neither of which is ready for prime time, I wonder what Groce and his staff have in mind. I have to think we're going to see more zone and pushing the ball.
