  1. No culture of discipline has ever been developed under Bowden.
  2. EVERY week Bowden keeps blabbering about how they HAVE to run the ball. Well Terry, either your coaches, your players or both are not listening to you IF you really mean that!
  3. Thats Milwees' fault!
  4. Do not know about recrutting' but Bowden hasn't developed much in 7 years.
  5. Apperently from this staff...YES!
  6. He MIGHT have been the best QB Bowden has recruited.
  7. Do not try to pin this on a rookie QB. This is simply another FAILURE of Bowden/ Milwee to 1) develop any type of running game and 2) their inability to devise a game plan for an inexperienced QB on the road. Stop blabbering about the back up to the back up. When Bowden gets EMBARASSED by EMU its my hope that the AD takes a real hard look at what has not been accomplished in 7 seasons.
  8. UConn WINS national championships in B.ball. Just like all the other big boys they are gonna refuse to give up a home date with all that revenue to play in a MAC B.ball venue. Might be better to extract a BIG guarantee from UConn in order to have MAC teams play early games there. Would pad the MAC bank accounts and elevate the RPI even with losses.
  9. Trying to figure out why Army would even consider that. Thats a move down for them is it not? They can already go to bowl games. And, they play for the Commander in Chief trophy with the other two service academies. They get plenty of exposure already don't they?
  10. Think what's important is that Bowden and Co. show they can beat some quality MAC teams on more than hoping they 'can pull something out' all the time to do it. Every team has injuries or other maladies(suspensions etc) to key players every year. Do the Zips win the division last year if Nelson doesn't play. This group has a chance,no matter who is at QB to show that the program is actually moving forward. Win the last three, good indication it is because they have to beat at least a couple of good teams to close it out. Lets see what happens when ALL the votes are counted. But, as was said earlier this week Nelson would have to make one heck of a recovery to be effective this week. Ramart is a different type of QB. Wonder if he returns next year if he thinks he might not play?
  11. Unfortunately for Akron EMU is probably the better team overall. They will have immediate motivation for their 6th win. They have beaten quality teams and played quality teams close in losses. Who knows who the Zips' QB will be. But, IF Nelson actually has a high ankle, he will not be anywhere close t 100% at this point. Those injuries are painful and cause instability. Mobility is greatly reduced as is the confidence to make normal maneuvers. He is not a pocket passer. He has to move to be effective. EMU appears to have at least a solid defense. Who knows what Ramart might do?
  12. EMU has won 5. They beat Purdue and Toledo. Their loses were close maybe save for the Army game but that certainly was not a blowout. They have played. some good teams tough and beaten a couple of quality teams. Hope I'm wrong but on the road with a team that can become bowl eligible, finally. EMU is going to be real excited. Tough go for the Zips even if a hobbling KN plays.
  13. I thought most of his 'readers' couldn't.
  14. So this likely means money,no bowl. Can't now assume Zips are LIKELY to win a game other than BG. Suppose they can try to treat the SC game as their 'bowl' game. Will be interesting to see what happens post season if they only win 5. Guess it depends on where Williams is at with this bunch. John Green sure as hell isn't going to stick his fingers in this.
  15. Yes they are. They had 300 yards on the ground. Zips slowed them down a little but when you give almost 170 to one RB and 300 total your defense got handled. Funny how that NIU safety on the blocked PAT maybe didn't seem like much. But when they had 'chased points' then finally had a chance to tie, instead they are still down by 3...ouch! How ironic that KN was having one of his best nights against a quality defense and the Zips put up some points but came up short. They got dealt a tough hand.
  16. Last couple of games the middle of the field seems to have been open for the passing.Did they throw to a 'tight end' last night in the middle? Can't recall. Too bad that might have been a better option especially after Nelson went down.
  17. Unfortunately there was nothing open on this play. NIU had the deeper route covered. And,they were all over the sideline pattern. Hopefully, next time he pulls it down and runs or throws it to Milwee on the sideline(lol).
  18. Did you check out the UB/MU game last night?
  19. You are not alone.
  20. Sutton Smith has 3 sacks.
  21. I was looking at the NIU MAC stats yesterday. Two things jumped out. Their QB and this guy. Sutton Smith is a sack/tackle machine. With the lets say inconsistent play of the Zips O-line Bowden/Milwee better not have KN holding on to the ball or trying to run around behind the line. He might not make the end of the game. If NIU place press on the WR's they better figure a way to get the ball to a Tight end behind the backers. Can the Zips even run on these guys? Score early if possible and hope the defense can control the game.
  22. Ya, lets stop with the gyrations. If they have to 'drop down' and play a second FCS(1-AA) team just to TRY to get a bowl bid what message does that send about the progress of the program or lack thereof? What message does it send to the players? The fans? You can not assume a win at Nebraska. Hope but not assume. Lets win at least 2 of the last 4. That means you have to beat at least one more quality team,NIU,OU or EMU. Thats legit. Walk in the front door.
  23. If they had not lost their first two MAC games probably wouldn't be worried about this. But,unless they play far better on offense than we have seen the last three weeks won't matter anyway. Besides, there would be no guarantee that a 6 win Akron team would be invited to a bowl game.
  24. Any give aways? Thursday night. Cold. Probably rain. Count the actual butts in seats. Doubt many in section 212 will be there.
  25. NIU went to BYU and 'beat' them 7-6? While BYU isn't the points machine it usually is that is one hell of an accomplishment. Does not bode well for Zips offense given what we have seen so far. Better hope that NIU is 'flat' early and the Zips can put up points in the first quarter. Otherwise NIU may grind them down.
