as someone stated here the record against the MAC is what Brookhart(darn it) MUST be held accountable for...nobody cares when he gets thumped by wisky, psu, osu etc etc etc etc...BUT he hasn't been able to run with the big dogs in the MAC...YET...he has a chance to get over .500 in the MAC this year...but he is not yet...judge him on the only games that count...the ZIPS fate is literally in their own hands...if they do the 'carpe diem' thing and win the East, Brookhart gets a locker at the Info...if not..well Lou Tepper is waiting at IUP...GO ZIPS

Needle is probaby the most pompous sounding a..i have heard on the radio...
-
uhhhhh...ladies and gentlemen...we aren't going to ANY bowl unless we win the MAC east..and then only if we finish at least 7-6 and thats stretching...there are 4 teams right now in the West who can go ahead of WHOMEVER the East winner is...not to mention buffalo, bowling green....in the East...if JD et al wants post season the HAVE to win the east...can you hear us Coach Fleming?
-
 if they are going to pull this off th D is going to HAVE to step in a couple of games....not to mention some other folks...what the H..L can they do?
-
being a cynic...maybe the 'redshirt' is in case the coaching staff is not 'invited' back next year...that would be a shame to burn a year and then have to move on and sit out another year...
-
rather be lucky than good...

for all of you who thought this was something special...LOSERS...JD...loser...Jacquemain...loser...Fleming... loser...losers..the only good thing is we start with some new blood at the INFO..and these guys are getting paid for this.....11 months til the INFO..

EVERY? Every as in THREE? Out of those three, one is ranked in the top 25 and the other two are receiving votes to be in the top 25!?!CJ has a 124.47 QB rating, which will be higher when his targets quit volleying up INTs for him. He is also 20th in the nation in TD passes. Is he perfect? No, but I'm not sure he deserves as many critical posts as he receives. On the UA seasonal lists, Jacquemain’s 1,457 yards is 15th. His 124 completions is 13th on the UA single-season list. He has been right around the 60 percent completion range all season. Currently, Charlie Frye is the only UA quarterback to complete over 60 percent of his passes in a season, a feat he accomplished in 2002 (65,8), 2003 (64.8) and 2004 (63.6).At this rate, Jacquemain will join the two other UA quarterbacks under head coach J.D. Brookhart (all-time leader Charlie Frye and second-place Luke Getsy) on the top of the UA all-time passing lists.Once again, DrZ proves himself to be one of the most underrated and top posters on this board. He has a great understanding of football that only a Steelers fan (well, maybe anyone but a Browns fan) can bring to the board. This post alone should have put an end to the argument. Jacq does his share of stupid things, but the results are there this year. that TD to PICK ratio...if we are talking numbers here...before we talk about the 'tipped' balls that should have been caught lets remember the spectacular catches that receivers make on bad throws...call it a wash over a couple of years?

nothing new..just haven't really heard him before...the usual stuff about playing for the team, etc etc...no X's and O's...no inside stuff...
-
but they should have left Schroeders...beautiful mahogany bar....coldest beer 'on campus' was right about where that shiny new polymer building is...damn shame..

Not to worry. I would never let the oppinions of BGSU fans dictate my view of a game. I'm sure they thought that they would roll all over EMU also Wow...there's some incredible stuff going on over there. 80% of their posting fans believe the Zips are going to get destroyed in this game. I just don't see how they can be so optimistic after losing to EMU. More power too 'em I guess. Here's to 4-3 (2-0) after Saturday evening! :cheers:And BGSU has some whiney fans. I never really realized how proud UA fans are until I witnessed that sad excuse of a fan base(ouch that was a touch too harsh). maybe some of those fans are the ones who have been going to the Rubber Hole for the last 30 years...maybe those are the same folks who have already ponied up for tickets at the INFO...GO ZIPS your destiny is in your hands...

no kidding...hope the coaches realize that!

our O line is a key...but the coaches have to give them the opportunity to do what they do best..run over people...i've noticed the last couple of weeks the coaches have called a lot of plays that spend a lot of time behind the line of scrimmage...end around ,reverse etc..get the damn ball going vertical instead of horizontal...this line blocks well straight ahead and on protection... thats the strongest part of the O...use them the right way!...again coaches putting players in the BEST position to excute and win...JD wake up before you piss away this opportunity...

Even though all of this is way too far out to project, the answer to this particular question is no. This is exactly the sitaution Miami found themselves in last year and were not bowl eligible - you must have at least six wins and be at or above .500.That puts a lot of pressure on the home games then. Our away schedule is far more winnable down the stretch than our home is, especially with the home games being of off days. So long as the refs give us a fair call down there in Athens this year It would be such a thrill to have a chance at playing the upset role against Ball St. in the MACC, but if they finish the season at 6-6, a whole lot more will ride on that game. no bowl game for the Zips unless they go to the MAC chamionship game...3 teams in the West will have a better shot...then there is Temple,Buffalo, B.G....don't kid yourself it will take 7-5 to get a sniff...

you want predictions? i don't see any...if the team and certain individuals play like they did against can't b.g. will blow 'em out...remember...this is GOOD team week...we are playing a GOOD team that can score tons of points...like b.s.u.we have beaten 3 bad teams...we have lost to 3 good teams on alternate weeks...IF Johnson is back...IF Jacquemain can make some plays under pressure(he WILL be blitzed)...IF JD doesn't outsmart himself...if the D can create turnovers and contain the b.g. qb...this is getting ridiculous...as i said already, the Zips control their destiny... IF they finally win at home...without Johnson and a running game,it falls on the D and Jacquemain to make plays...we await Jacquemain's signature game...i know JD is still waiting too...it could be a b.g. blowout or go down to the last minute...remember the b.g. game here 2 years ago...an offensive pass intereference call on them was the turning point...
-
b.g. is no secret...they have a very good QB who can throw and run, they spread the field and gain lots of yards..they beat pitt for god's sake...their D is mediocre...but if that O gets on a roll and the Zips O takes a s..t like saturday at can't b.g. will blow us out...on the other hand, if Johnson is back and Jacquemain some how figures it out...the Zips control their own destiny...be there or be square...
-
i read the notes on JD's press conference...he VERY specifically talks about the BAD decision making and UNWILLINGNESS to run on the part of the QB...well duh...thats not news to anyone, certainly not JD...he finally realizes that his job is probably on the line and MORE IMPORTANTLY, now the ZIPS have a shot to control their own destiny if they can beat b.g. on saturday..the schedule has gone good opponent, bad opponent, good opponent, bad opponent...its not a coincidence that against the good teams...the wisky game gets something of a pass...that QB play has contributed significantly to the loss and almost cost the can't game..Jacquemain HAS to come up with a signature game NOW...with b.g. losing last saturday another loss to the Zips puts them in a hole and gives the Zips the HAMMER...believe it or not...with Jacquemain playing at his present level that doesn't....any word on JOHNSON?
-
French is the ultimate homer...i love it...i listen sometimes just to hear some of his wild ass calls...thats what college football is about...
-
first..nothin' better than the worst team in the MAC,can't, taking the hard swallow again...whew... back to reality...this shows how shaky Jacquemain is in big games...the Zips had to overcome 2 QB's today....this shows how much they miss Allen and Johnson...may have been a blow out on our side if one of those guys is available(Jacquemain CAN handoff)...Bowser IS ALL -MAC already...kennedy is what he has always been, a capable back-up...the DEFENSE is most assuredly better now than last year, but still gives up that big play on occasion...kevin grant has gotten his motor running again...edelman is a sr. isn't he?... what happened to the return game?...now the task is to win a damn home game against b.g. who is the best team in the east, until temple gets their qb back...hate to say it again' but ZIPS HAVE to win out at home and steal 2 of 3 on the road to have a shot...b.g on paper may be the best team left on the schedule...come on JD get a big game out of Jacquemain against b.g. and you have a shot at opening the INFO....GO ZIPS
-
uh...all of you who said this is the season maker or breaker raise your hands...cuz it is...thats on both sidelines...for can't its the only meaningful win they get all year...for the ZIPS a win is a shot at the MAC Champeenship...a loss...well start with JD and work your way down...too close to call cuz the Zips are beat up...don't assume jarvis won't appear and don't assume the edelman won't do what he usually does to us...oh boy
