  1. you want predictions? i don't see any...if the team and certain individuals play like they did against can't b.g. will blow 'em out...remember...this is GOOD team week...we are playing a GOOD team that can score tons of points...like b.s.u.we have beaten 3 bad teams...we have lost to 3 good teams on alternate weeks...IF Johnson is back...IF Jacquemain can make some plays under pressure(he WILL be blitzed)...IF JD doesn't outsmart himself...if the D can create turnovers and contain the b.g. qb...this is getting ridiculous...as i said already, the Zips control their destiny... IF they finally win at home...without Johnson and a running game,it falls on the D and Jacquemain to make plays...we await Jacquemain's signature game...i know JD is still waiting too...it could be a b.g. blowout or go down to the last minute...remember the b.g. game here 2 years ago...an offensive pass intereference call on them was the turning point...
  2. b.g. is no secret...they have a very good QB who can throw and run, they spread the field and gain lots of yards..they beat pitt for god's sake...their D is mediocre...but if that O gets on a roll and the Zips O takes a s..t like saturday at can't b.g. will blow us out...on the other hand, if Johnson is back and Jacquemain some how figures it out...the Zips control their own destiny...be there or be square...
  3. i read the notes on JD's press conference...he VERY specifically talks about the BAD decision making and UNWILLINGNESS to run on the part of the QB...well duh...thats not news to anyone, certainly not JD...he finally realizes that his job is probably on the line and MORE IMPORTANTLY, now the ZIPS have a shot to control their own destiny if they can beat b.g. on saturday..the schedule has gone good opponent, bad opponent, good opponent, bad opponent...its not a coincidence that against the good teams...the wisky game gets something of a pass...that QB play has contributed significantly to the loss and almost cost the can't game..Jacquemain HAS to come up with a signature game NOW...with b.g. losing last saturday another loss to the Zips puts them in a hole and gives the Zips the HAMMER...believe it or not...with Jacquemain playing at his present level that doesn't....any word on JOHNSON?
  4. if it was ONLY one bad game...its been every game against a good opponent...
  5. French is the ultimate homer...i love it...i listen sometimes just to hear some of his wild ass calls...thats what college football is about...
  6. first..nothin' better than the worst team in the MAC,can't, taking the hard swallow again...whew... back to reality...this shows how shaky Jacquemain is in big games...the Zips had to overcome 2 QB's today....this shows how much they miss Allen and Johnson...may have been a blow out on our side if one of those guys is available(Jacquemain CAN handoff)...Bowser IS ALL -MAC already...kennedy is what he has always been, a capable back-up...the DEFENSE is most assuredly better now than last year, but still gives up that big play on occasion...kevin grant has gotten his motor running again...edelman is a sr. isn't he?... what happened to the return game?...now the task is to win a damn home game against b.g. who is the best team in the east, until temple gets their qb back...hate to say it again' but ZIPS HAVE to win out at home and steal 2 of 3 on the road to have a shot...b.g on paper may be the best team left on the schedule...come on JD get a big game out of Jacquemain against b.g. and you have a shot at opening the INFO....GO ZIPS
  7. uh...all of you who said this is the season maker or breaker raise your hands...cuz it is...thats on both sidelines...for can't its the only meaningful win they get all year...for the ZIPS a win is a shot at the MAC Champeenship...a loss...well start with JD and work your way down...too close to call cuz the Zips are beat up...don't assume jarvis won't appear and don't assume the edelman won't do what he usually does to us...oh boy
  8. WOW!...this game very likely will determine the direction of the rest of the season and we're talking about having to count on the guy who was actually #3 on the RB depth chart AND maybe 2 guys who haven't played!?...the position of most strength has become a huge question mark...for this game only lets think about getting Bryan Williams a few touches at RB again...this game only...i know thats phyisically draining..but if he can break a couple like he did last year can't has to defense the ground game big time...may open up the field so Jacquemain isn't pressured to win the game....Kennedy is not going to carry the ground game himself...thats why JD is looking at Tuzze,Pride and Torrence...keep your fingers crossed on Saturday, this IS the season...
  9. sagarin is good...more accurately reflects strength of schedule...if the Zips were completely healthy going down the stretch, which they are not, they would have a decent shot at at least 6-6(thats winning 4 out of 7 with 4 on the road) BUT, they are not healthy and once the ground game has to rely on kennedy as the #1 back for an extended period...nope...that means Jacquemain has to step up(?) and the D has to win a couple of games...its a damn shame that AA and Johnson got shelved...THAT was a running game never seen here...now can't is a MUST win...stop edelman on the ground, create turnovers....
  10. stop squawking about the grounding call!!! read the blurb in today's(9-29-08) Plain Dealer...JD basically said HE screwed the pooch in not kicking the field goal AND going for 2!!! if JACQUEMAIN had again not lost his head, he would have thrown the ball into the seats across the line of scrimmage and its AN INCOMPLETE PASS, no ref's involved...look...how many times in crucial situations do we have to keep coming back to bad coaching decisions and bad player decisions in close games against good teams?... 3 years later we are still paying good money to watch this stuff...now not only does the season ride on beating can't, it may very well decide JD'S future here...whatever that means...good luck on Saturday guys!!!
  11. well, where does one start...it was a very entertaining game...i yelled myself hoarse...BUT, once again at the crucial points in the game when good decisions and good plays HAD to be made on our side they weren't...that includes ONCE AGAIN, JD and his staff, CHRIS JACQUEMIAN( he is no longer CJ here), IGOR....when you play a physically superior team, which CINCY obviously was...JD, you don't get do overs, you have to make the RIGHT call for the moment AND your QB has to make the RIGHT play for the moment...i was sitting in the stands yelling at my GF that the ZIPS needed to KICK THE DAMN FG instead of going for it...i would have thrown the damn flag on Jacquemain too...throw the damn ball into the freeking seats...the penalties, the opportunities Cincy gave them...i don't care how entertianing the game was...ya gotta win it when you're that close...now the big problem for JD is, what if you lose to can't? season pretty much over , again...and as beaten up physically as the Zips are...11 months to INFOany word on JOHNSON?
  12. JD better be talkin' it up, his job is on the line and the next 2 weeks might determine his fate in Akron...if he can beat cincy and can't he should go at least .500 and get to be the first coach at the INFO...if the ZIPS take a dump this week and against can't with the schedule left he probably can't do .500 and is history...there is NO way to overstate the importance of tomorrow and next week...
  13. no question, 'on paper' cincy should win...my fear is that with their D if they get up early and they pressure CJ its going to resemble wiscy and bsu...AND not only could the Zips lose, they could get beat up and go into the can't game with no gas in the tank...the season will be decided this week and next...can you hear me JD?
  14. Why would he want to do it (6 years)? I wonder if he will even want to play again and risk further injury. Two "out on a stretcher, 12 month rehab" injuries within 3 years would really make me consider finishing my degree and coaching some high school ball. The prospect of walking without a cane at 55 years old is a great incentive to say "I gave it a good run" and move on. depending on the extent of the hip fracture, it may be easier to come back from that than the knee...healthy AA has NFL talent...if he can get in 1 big year he might get drafted...hope they pursue more eligibility...
  15. get a beer bellyhttp://www.thebeerbelly.com/Or go out at halftime. the sports bra with the pouches was neat too...have to be careful where we go with that one though...
  16. ouch! her's hopin' you're wrong and my gut feeling is off or.......
  17. look i got like this in '06 too...so don't get carried away... actually this is CJ's opportunity to 'take over'...to become a leader...frankly...i don't see him being a CHARLEY type emotionally...but this team is begging for a leader on the field especially on offense...if CJ was EVER going to do it this is his opp...somebody send this thread to him before saturday...BUT...the D still stinks...can i sneak a pint into the Bowl? i'll be there!
  18. If the defense played the way it did last week, UA has an excellent chance. Of course we will need the Cincy offense to be as bad as the Army offense too. well put
  19. if you're going to get cincy, and have a chance this may be the week...playing another MAC opponent,on the road, before a Conference USA game, second string QB,man, here's a chance to beat a team thats actually good...they had little problem with mu however...cincy will play D first...they have seen that when CJ is pressured and has to move he is ineffective...they have seen the tapes of the ball state game...allegedly cincy is having some difficulty presuuring the passer so if the coaches can get CJ off early the ZIPS may hve a chance...unfortunately our D will have to stop the run against a bigger stronger O-line...if CJ can keep his wits about him under pressure and hang on to the ball so Johnson and Kennedy can run the ZIPS can keep it close...otherwise...supposed to be a nice day Saturday...
  20. hope we are not always comparing ourselves to the LOWEST common denominator in the MAC'''otherwise thats we will always be...they beat a team they should have beaten...with Cincy and can't coming up its time to beat teams you NEED to beat..can't, emu,bg,toledo and buffalo are MUST wins!!!
  21. doesn't matter to me whether JD or Bonzo the Chimp is coaching...i sat through Gordon Larson, Jim Dennison, Faust, Owens...the first two established some sort of pattern of winning here...went to playoffs...i believe both ended over .500...nobody will go 10-2 or 9-3 here...but if you can't realistically compete for the division regularly...and you are always comparing yourself to the lowest common denominator..you become the lowest common denominator...people i work with are Browns and Indians fans...they talk about how they will never see an NFL championship or World Series Championship in there lifetimes...screw OSU...i always tell them that i have seen the one championship that counts the most for me...2005,Ford Field, Getsy to Hixon...thanks for that JD..
  22. check the ARMY website...this is a big time TRAP game for the ZIPS...
  23. somebody check my math, please...i went to the archives and came up with this stat...since he started in 2004(Charley's last year)...JD's teams are 17-17 in the MAC...is that right?...i forgot UCF was in the MAC?... the trend has been downward since...in any event...that won't get it done against the 'good' teams in the MAC...those wins against NCST and the 'CUSE and ARMY don't mean a lot unless you can win in the MAC...your thoughts...
  24. I know it is... but I found the title a bit offensive to intelligence, since even genuinely rhetorical questions are meant to inspire thought or debate, and I believe that these 'questions' and the supplied answers are meant more to propagandize someone's point of view. so correct grasshopper...
  25. 'zen' seems a bit frustrated as we all are...i think what keeps popping up is the reality that we can't beat the 'good' teams...interceptions,fumbles,dropped passes...when it continually happens against 'good' teams..face it, you're not as good as the 'good' teams...3 years and counting...
