I agree with everything that you say here but what has winning 20+ games for 10 years done to the UA program? I can tell you a couple of things that it has not done... improved the attendance, gotten an NCAA Tourney win (or been close), or improved the home schedule. Yes the program is in a better spot than it was 10 years ago but it is in the same spot that it was 7 years ago. In my opinion, the 20+ win thing is overrated here at Akron.

I highly doubt any potential U of A recruit cares if the General Store in Quaker Square was closed. Hell, I'd be willing to bet that 75% of ZN didn't even know that the General Store was even there.

I wasn't gone after my 2nd brush up with trouble, Nick Harney. Me either, Q. Don't kid yourself, schools find a way to keep the impact players on the roster.

Chisholm has been fine in Steelers camp but probably won't make the 53. He's #5 on their depth chart. I'm guessing he'll be on the practice squad.

Here is another article from GT about Lane... I read GT's articles and shake my head. Aside from the punctuation mistakes, here is an obvious sign of laziness. Local kid (Kevin Gladney - RS soph) was released in July from Nebraska's program - reason unknown but assumptions are that he didn't like the hard work outs that the Mike Riley (new coach) had them on. A lot of people were surprised that he went to a Big 10 school - for his size and athletic ability, he always played a little soft. I wonder if he's on the radar? Seems like a decent fit here.

Hey wait....weren't we promised that there was going to be 4-5 players leaving the program, including Pat? When will the announcements be made?

"total subsidy" puts Akron at 15th....meaning only 14 other schools get more money in ALL of D1. Not good Maverick.

I also think that Scarbourgh looks at UA athletics/academics like running business which could make this next hire difficult. When I read Morris' posts, it looks to me like he/she looks at things the same way and less of a fan. (although I do disagree with Morris in regards to the soccer program having plateaued.)

The MAC is a roller coaster. Very few programs in this conference have stability.....this conference is a coaching stepping stone. As Akron fans we are very lucky to have a coach that has no reason to leave. KD is from here, went here and makes a TON of money to coach here. And has NO REASON to ever leave here. Bobby is a really good coach. He wants to coach at the big time level, and will.

While not many people like his antics, Bobby can coach. I am glad to see him leave Buffalo. He paving the way to be the next coach at Duke.
