Also, #5 could have been Thaddeus Snodgrass, the new transfer from KY. That was his number at KY and that might not have had time to get him a new number if he just arrived.

Just because Nelson got the reps doesn't mean they won't redshirt him. Its an opportunity for him to learn the system. You don't want to wait until next year and you want to show the recruit he is a big part of the future.

I am not sure how it plays out. He was on a roster then dropped during the season. Looks like he didn't play in a game last year. You have to think that hiring John Nemec has helped with local recruiting, too. It doesn't get a lot of airtime, but his connections run deep.

I think some of these guys are greatly under-rating Toledo, in the west.

I noticed in the article linked by Captain Kangaroo, they have an all freshman line. It could be a really rough day for them. Correction: article is a year old. Still will be a rough day for them.

This will be a great chance for the 2 and 3 deep to get some reps, too.

Captain Kangaroo : +1 for last 3 posts. Stated very well. To see 9 local, talented kids excited to commit to UA this early is a miraculous turnaround from where we were. Convincing kids on a promise of, "We are turning things around, be a part of it." is not an easy sell in the age of instant gratification. These players, whether they play in the league or not, have learned some valuable life lessons from investing themselves into longer term goals and watching it pay off over time. I look at kids like Justin March, Jatavis Brown, Cody Grice and others that stuck around to be a part of it and have to think it must be gratifying to them to see the program turn the corner. We are all hoping that this is indeed the year we are battling for a conference title. "Audacity" seems to be the word that TB is using to challenge the players with this year. I like it.

Just because the article quotes those things doesn't mean they were the first things the coach said, it just means they were the quotes the journalist selected. Same with TV or radio.
